Spring Break Bust

Good, I'm glad the lazy Mystal was exposed by Newsday. I'm sure most readers will laugh at the "I'm helping my sister flee Haiti" excuse. Hopefully voters in his district will start to realize that he is no Maxine Postal, who worked her butt off for her constituents.

This bill SHOULD pass.....it's NOT fair to law-biding contractors who play by the rules to be out bid by cheats looking for cheap labor!!!!!
With high living costs, a recession and skilled legal workers lossing their jobs everyday, this bill is an absolute necessity.

Another No-Show Job - Both Mystal and the Democrats lied to the voters. Elie Mystal lives in Florida and his Democratic supporters knew all along that he had no intention of fullfilling his obligation to the voters of his district.

Do you have ANY idea how much illegal immigration is costing the American taxpayer?????? The number is probably in the millions. Who pays the unpaid hospital bills?? We do. Who pays when their children attend school and cannot read or write English and additional personnel need to be hired to teach them English?? We do. Have any idea how many border state hospitals are being bankrupted by them coming over the border and have their babies and then sticking them and us with the bill??? Many. If you were truly "concerned " about the economy, you'd support legislation that gets them out of this country!

You all are jokes. You come on here, and talk about this "bill" as though it you're all professionals in the field. First off, it's an introductory resolution, not a bill. Second, this IR is redundant, and already on the books. If you look at the local laws of Suffolk County, you will realize that contractors are already required to verify the legal working status of their workers. Third, this IR has no teeth. This is because, as I mentioned, it is already law and a rarely enforced law at that. Furthermore, Levy has either cut, or not filled jobs that are needed to enforce laws and IRs such as this. Many of you who support this also support Levy's immigration stance. While it is easy to jump on the bandwagon, as many of you do, when an IR is introduced to limit the rights of illegal immigrants, you should first write Levy and tell him that job vacancies for illegal immigration enforcement need to be filled. Does he need 4 $100k/year aides? Don't think so. While I'm for any type of legislation that will strengthen the enforcement policy against illegal immigration, I am not for "show" legislation such as this. This IR is flawed, unenforceable, and redundant. People need to get off their high horse and lobby their legislators to introduce strong legislation in this area.
