Hello all. I am someone that used to work at Manchester Pkg Co and I would like to hear how the place is going? Is Scott Rosenow still runnin extrusion department? How is the moral around there? and are they still doing that "bonus" program...the last I heard, they were still lying to their employees tellin them they didnt make profits so no checks...but then again, this could all be gossip...oh and when I worked there, they hadn't given a "cost of living" raise in years...how is that workin? any comments would be great...always good to get the rumors flying

yeah man, this is pretty much the MPC i work at today. Its shit but its a job.although once more jobs in the area open up, I along with about 40 other workers will be leaving..and just for the reasons you listed above. How long ago did you work there? Just wondering if things will ever change or if they will just continue not giving a rats ass about us.

you really dont want my input on this place, all management lies, they will lay you off and not call you back, they will tell you that you are doing a good job and then tell you that your just not good enough for your promotion. I dont work there any more and I suggest that the people that do, find different jobs and begin making a real life. Armisteads, Bryants, Rosenows- they are all crooks and will lie to get another penny in their pocket and out of yours.

Mac, believe me when I say that we are trying. But what happens to the next 1000 people they hire? did you know also that they have been fined a few times for releasing too many bad toxins in the air? that will affect everyone in the area. they dont care. all of the management dont care.

I beg to differ all of you. Manchester is a good family orientated company to work for. If you are having a problem working for this company or any of the management than you must not be doing your job. I want the prove that you have about all the so called fines. Why don't you just walk out the door if you are not happy working there, so someone that wants to work can have yours and then you can sit on your rump at home. Yes Manchester is hard work and I guess that is something that you don't want to put out. There will be bad people at every job, but if people like you,(just another body) would stop complaining and just do your job, than this world would be alot better. Stop bashing Manchester Packaging! If you don't like being employed there and making good money than go to Mcdonalds, they are always wanting someone to flip burgers.

Seriously, you just made his point. you are obviously a manager, or someone that thinks they are, and you said that "if you have a problem with management or just a problem with MPC in general, that I or any of the other 30+ people that are DISGRUNTALLED that we are just bad workers". I dont know who you think you are, but I bet that I would work circles around you and most of management. As for "just do my job and shut up" if you are who I think you are, you really need to get a different job. HR is suppose to be on the employee's side, not the employers.
Also, I am sorry to say, that this process has began. You guys fired 3 people that put in their 2 weeks when they were willing to give you another 2 weeks. Now, people are just going to straight outright quit instead of giving notice.

Great Job "good company"...you have great moral boosting words!

Oh, and search Manchester Packaging Co on google.com
there is your "proof"

You go mac. People like to complain, They don't know a good job if it hit them in the face. People likes to look at others faults and don't want to look into the mirror at them selfs. If a person don't like who they work for or don't like their job, than quit and stop complaining about it. This company goes out of their way to help people out, give good pay and good bonuses. They don't have to give out bonuses, but the do. That is how they work. Give out freely, but some employess just want to take and not work for it. Bonuses are free money, and all people want to do is complain about it. Guess what Duh, I'm not even employeed their, I just know a good company from a bad one. You must be employeed their, if you don't like it than quit and go hungry. I'm not going to keep posting, people will always bash something good just because they don't get their way. That happens at all jobs. Go ahead and find one that is perfect, when you do find it post it and I bet someone else will have something bad to say about it. You can't please everyone.

So basically, you have no idea what you are talking about. If you do not work there and talk FACE TO FACE with the employees then you obviously just wanted to put your 2 cents in. I, along with the other 30+ people that are "disgruntled", would like to change MPC so that people would like to stay there and work HAPPILY and have GOOD workers come in and STAY working there. Fact-I have seen 400 people hired-fired-quit since I started working there 5 years ago. HMMMM turn over ratio shows how GOOD of a company it is. Just cause they give out bonuses does not mean it takes care of its people. They havent given a cost of living raise in 4 years. They use bonuses as a way to make up for it. Lets see, if I get 250 every 3 months 3 times a year, that is 750. If I get a one time a year $1 an hour raise, thats like $2500.
Now, just cause I am saying this does not mean I think Mike and Charles are crooked. I like Mike, and I like Charles (when he is not bitching about how much money his bills have went up). Scott, well, I plea the 5th. Tim, he is alright, dumb as a mule, but at least he will tell the guys thank you for their work. Dennis, well, if he could get his head out of the bag girls' ass, he would be great.
Yes, I know that EVERY job has its downfalls. I love working at MPC. I have since my hire date. Im not trying to get Melanie, Mike, Charles, Scott, Tim, or Dennis in trouble, mad, or anything like that. All I am trying to do is better MPC. Example, Mike and Charles think our paychecks are a "thank you" for our hard work out on the floor. This is true. I also believe this way. BUT I also think that in order to have a worker continue to IMPROVE AND GROW, their moral must grow. At MPC, the moral has almost disappeared in the last 5 years. If it goes away much more, I fear that my buddy Greg P will not be the last to quit out of spite for either being called an idiot by his boss, or because the Hard of the Hard workers are giving up. I am one of these people. I, along with 8 or 9, try every day to joke with people. talk to people. Thank people. BUT these 8 or 9 are getting tired. I have passed June B many times when she is crying because she has put forth 100% of her effort and it just not be good enough. I have seen John Yess go 2 years without ONE return and wait 4 years for a promotion.

Oh, here is an example of your "bonus" program being NOT effective. Jeremy Shutt, worked there for almost 10 years. He has been a supervisor for well over half of those years. Last bonus check, he got $13. 13 dam dollars.(This might give my identity away but I dont care) I found this out and was furious. I PERSONALLY WENT AROUND TO EVERY WORKER IN MPC AND ASKED FOR THEM TO EITHER GIVE $5 OR TELL JEREMY THANK YOU FOR HIS HARD WORK. I got him a bonus FROM HIS COWORKERS of $135. HE DESERVES MORE. A person at MPC cannot be judged alone on his personal labor, but by how he has made MPC grow. Jeremy has trained ALL 3 of the Operator 3 extrusion operators (minus JJ now since he moved to printing). To me, that means he deserves something more than a bonus check. And that is also the way the rest of the plant felt. Jeremy also got 22 thank yous from the people unable to give money.
Also, since I am ranting about the people at MPC, one of the main reasons moral keeps dropping is cause managers are AWARDING the bad workers. Kurt Whaley has been promoted to Supervisor and awarded Top Achiever just in this year. His crew alone has had something to the tune of 10,000 pounds of returns this year.
All I am asking is that MPC grow in a good way instead of the bad. I think a handshake is something that goes a long way. I think that awarding bad workers is a punch in the face to the people doing good work. And for you to say that I am not thankful or a good worker, well, I say that if that is the way you feel, then so be it. But dont tell someone just cause they have an opinion, that they either need to keep it to themselves, or if it is a bad opinion, to just quit. I dont believe in communism. I believe in a person's rights.
Oh, and I looked at your first post. you said that MPC pays good money for the area. The job pay has nothing to do with "money for the area" as there is not a packaging plant anywhere around. You base your pay according to McD's? How about we compare rate of pay to other packaging companies that extrude plastic, print plastic, and make bags out of plastic. almost all that I have researched, and believe me I research, make double the pay for the same work. Im not saying to double our pay, but dont make it out like we should kiss your ass because you sign our $350 a week check. You guys tell us that the machinary makes our checks, I make my check. I would work my ass of for MPC as well as the next job. just the way I am.

been at mpc for almost 6 years and have to agree with top achiever on those subjects so im not going to touch what already has been said..yes it is work, its a job, and i do it well, for first 3 years i put 120% into my work with pride.. now i still put my pride into my work but about 85% do to it dont matter because we still are not doing good enough..never a thanx for putting in the effort..a low paycheck..whatever..but maintenance gets thanked every week for there effort.. just funny cause we work hard too..we did 18,000 to 20,000 pounds of material for a week with under 2.5% scrap rate...we didnt do good enough is what the next weekly newsletter will say without a doubt.. same thing all year long..anyway..until a new job..mpc..lol

If you think that you are so smart, why don't you give me my initials. Boo actually knows what he is talking about. Does your title fit you or something.
