No, because depends on classes. Depends on grade, depends on athletics, drivers Ed, specific Shop classes. All I know it's well over,$125.00 per kid. Without sports.

Free education can be quite expensive.

Why is it over $125 per kid at a public school? Other surrounding schools are around $48 and sports are around $50. Why is Highland school so expensive?

Because Chicago's corrupt politicians use all money for the bigger cities and leaves smaller nicer communities with nothing. So we pay more for the nice towns we have. It's 125.00 activity fee as well, looking to go up next year.

Whereas I agree the fees are outrageous, the surrounding schools (with lower fees) do not teach their students at the same level highland does. Test scores prove this. Highland schools exceed expectation. I personally do not mind spending more money on my childs schooling because I know the quality of education is greater.

Highland was below a lot of other school districts, though.

The national and state score reports are given to parents during parent teacher conferences. It shows the state above national and highlands average above other schools. Are the documents forged?

Why then does Highland charge $250 for drivers ed and $150 per sport? I am sure that other towns don't slack on teaching drivers ed because they only charge $50 and sports aren't taught any different whether you pay $50 or $150 to play?

To keep our sports programs we pay more. We don't have the Grant money for cheaper rates... Madison County is higher cost of living as well.

Maybe we should do another referendum and ask the taxpayers for another 5 million? That would solve everything!

Maybe we should ask where is all the money being spent? Who is getting paid a large salary? Why do we keep digging ourself deeper in the hole? I am surprised they don't charge the students to use the restrooms because they sure in the hell charge for everything else!

50 cents per flush! I don't understand either why it's so expensive for Highland. I know other schools are not that much. You should be able to search online and find out the salaries of all the school employees.

Where in the world does HCUSD $ go? We have very little to show for all of the tax $ and fees.
