Has anyone checked to make sure the amount of bail set wasn't a misprint? That small of an amount just doesn't seem right. And how on earth did some loser low life killing a motorcyclist become a liberal vs. conservative issue? That seems to be a stretch here. Our prisons are now bursting at the seems with incarcerated individuals already (we now have more people in prison per capita than in any country in history). The question is how much more do we wish to pay in taxes in order to put more people behind bars? I suggest that it will not help. The sad fact of the matter is that people being killed by drunk drivers is the price we have to pay in order to keep our society all liquored up all the time and fuel our professional and college sports teams, bars, etc. The money taken in on advertising for alcohol is enormous and is not going to stop. Collectively we have already conceded this sad fact of life. I would almost go so far as to say a lot of this problem with alcohol is a conservative cause. As long as it brings in money, the hell with the ramifications to society. And God forbid we should ever publicly fund addiction treatment for addicts (like this Hansen nut). Oh hell no, lets let em kill people, and THEN we will throw them in jail! That thought process makes no sense to me.
