You have got to be kidding! Why not just go down to the river and throw a big wad of money in and see how long it floats. By the way Wing-it was a sporting a Goods store for about 15 minutes a couple years ago and that was before bridge finished.

There is more to sporting goods than hunting supplies. And isn't it fun to shoot down IDEAS solicited by another poster? I don't see you putting any ideas out there sweetheart....

A study some 10 years or so ago by LSU indicated the next two businesses needed here were a bakery and a sporting goods store. Both have been tried in the recent past without success because of the owners narrow market focus. The Donut shop did just donuts not a full line bakery, I believe her real problem was up front money for a bigger buidling and workers who want to get up at 0300 everyday.

The sporting goods store was your typical West Feliciana high end hunting supply store. We need a full line sporting goods store that can get a contract to supply both the school system and parks and rec their needs. Baseball teams, softball teams, basketball teams, flag football teams, Tennis players, Golfers, etc dont need $1200 shotguns and $300 set of camo. So it failed.

So Beastie was on the mark with what this parish needs, if needs somone with business savy first and foremost to open these type places. Wing It in the present state is an example of business savy vs. brute force, the business man will always win. Brute force is commendable but the finances usually will win out in a year or so.

Are you kidding me? If everyone, all 15,000 including Angola and every jock strap in the parish were bought at the sporting goods store and every over weight person in the parish bought a dozen doughnuts are pastries a week they would be out of business in six months. Wait I have to reconsider the Doughnuts, we seem to have our share of heavies. Dicks in Mall of La hasn't been fairing well maybe you should talk to them about moving to West Feliciana. Maybe you should open a fitness center, full service sporting good store, and Bakery in the empty building across from SFV City park. LMAO

By the way I feel really bad about Wing It! The folks who own it are working their butts off. It doesn't take a genius to see it is space limited and with margins and lease cost, it is just a matter of time. Anyone considering an investment in a Business that depends on walkin customers in this parish need to really understand potential customer base. There are just not enough people with money for things other than essentials. Rail bird wanting pastry and full service sporting goods is NOT representative of the less than 5,000 potential customers. I make jokes but I really do feel sorry for those that have put everything they have in trying to make something, anything work here! It is SAD!

What about maybe a larger place to eat? Like a Golden Corral, or some place like that. Family restaurant type place. maybe with a buffet. By-the-way, I hear there is a small strip type shopping center in the plans in the old Cottons parking lot, dont know the status of that though, or what businesses will actually be included.

There will be a bakery opening next month in the old red horse. They were in Zachary. I just wonder how long it will last here.

Across from the post office. It was Sammy's and George's at one time and hemmingbough antiques.

They have ok cakes and such. Nothing to flip over. I would compare them to Cake mix. Duncan Hines And that is very well what they are.

Could have a John James Audubon theme and call it tweety-birds. Come out in hoop skirts and go from there. How much money could you put in s petty coat.
