OK, but what if a black man beats you up because he hates whites. And in the during this assault he calls you the n-word? He is beating you up out of hate, but calls you a derogatory word for blacks. How do you prove the hate here? Had enough of these hypotheticals yet?:)
the answer is to charge all crimes with the harshness of a hate crime, why would society want some crimes tolerated more on some victims then others. A bottle over the head of a white male hurts just as much as a gay white male. Both victims feel the pain.

I can't really imagine someone hitting someone else for literally no reason,...
You never heard of people on drugs or alcoholics hitting people for no reason? You've got alot to learn boy. Hate crime laws are a bunch of liberal BS.

Well, boy, I would say that the reason that addicts hit people is probably because they're high off their asses. I don't know, just a guess?

Sure, they feel the same physical pain. And if that's all that happens, neither should be a hate crime. When a gay guy gets beat up, the fact that he's gay doesn't automatically make it a hate crime. If that was the case, how would we prosecute a gay guy who beat up another gay guy? Besides, in a practical way, I think the whole notion of sentencing someone to prison is more about punishing an offender than it is about compensating a victim.

whether we like it or not, when a gay man gets beat up and the perpretator gets a longer sentence then if he beat up an average white male in similiar fashion is pure bigotry which ironically the laws tries to eliminate.

practically speaking

Only real fair thing to do is eliminate hate crimes or charge all crimes with the severity of a hate crime.

Liberals do not want fair treatment they want special treatment and division.
