have no fear!! this is a great place to live. alot of the things you read here are embellished for theatrical purposes and the entertainment value. this is a forum where you can express your opinions- right or wrong. PLEASE move here and tell your family to do so as well. SCS is a city now in transition and with some time, hard work and a little faith it will be once again the model community it once was. the governing body is finally getting the picture that status quo and complacency that has run rampant for too long will no longer be acceptable. let me be the first to say..........
WELCOME TO SCS!!!

Just take the time to look at the whole neighborhood and the way your prospective neighbors keep up their property before you buy a house here.

Governing body is 4/3 in favor of spending our money foolishly. Needs more people to keep an eye on them, like you and others.if you and they had not spoken out we would be spending aabout$494000more for our garbage pickup

Choosing a city is about far more than the government. Personally, I think the city is in a great location -- easy access to most everywhere you want to go via I94 & I696. Nice parks on the water. Lots of sports programs for kids. Mostly quiet neighborhoods with reasonable home prices.

If you need trendy stores & restaurants, you might have to drive 20 mins, but we've got good local eats and stores for the day-to-day. The inventory of newer McMansions is slim, but you'll find lovely smaller, older homes on mature tree-lined streets. Infrastructure (schools, roads, sewers) is in place. Folks are mostly folks, and don't seem to worry much whether you're driving a Ford or a Jag.

So you ask yourself what you want -- I think SCS is a nice place to call home. All the moaning that goes on here is about keeping it that way.

St Clair Shores is a great place to live. Good schools, great parks, good neighbors, a goverment that is responceable to its citizens.
On this blog there are many who critize the goverment and have some complaints. All cities have that in them.
I would hope that you do not rule us out because of a few people.
Love it here.

If you mean what you say , then you should quit telling us to leave , if we don't agree with what you do !

Matt you had a coffee shop , and it cost you $150 per month rent ,so yes the city government was very good to you !
Your woman Sandy and the old maintenance supervisor have teamed up with you , and you people try to make SCS seem like it's this perfect town from a book called paradise !

My advice to all of you is , if you put the time into our city , instead of all the crap you post , then I could believe the words you have posted !

Well it seems to have me mistaken for someone else again.

I would hope that all your poisonous statements do not influence this person.

I will say this you are very focused on Matt and it is too bad for you because it makes you look like a fool.

I am not a council person; I do not work for the city. That means I am not a police person, fire person, animal control person.

I do not work for the county or federal government.

You will not believe me because you and your buddy JD never do.

PLEASE STAY ON THE SUBJECT MATTER.

Hey Moving, St. Clair Shores is a nice place to live, obviously by the posts we have little issues that all communities have. We even have people post on this site who are very juvenille and name callers. I just hope you don't move by them.

As for the rest of us, we are all pretty normal. As stated in other posts, Quiet neighborhoods, great parks, decent police and fire, a good library and annual parade and fireworks to boot. There are five houses for sale on my street, I would love to have you as a neighbor. Happy shopping!

Sounds as though you just moved here from the ghetto or a place near?

Feelings? two of the sales are estates, I miss them dearly. My block has lost two great people over the past year. The other three homes are in foreclosure or bank owned, all due to domestic issues.

By the way "Maxed out" I have lived in SCS for the better part of 45 years.

I would guess , the three homes that are bank owned , will be rentals , and the other two homes will be vacant for a while , until the economy picks up .

Maybe this person would buy one of the bank homes and it would not be rented. There are some great deals to be had out there, not for landlords. The banks are being very tight with landlords now.

From what I see and have read for the last month I will be moving but not to St. Clair Shores.

If the people are anything like the people on this board I will be looking for another house in a different place and keep my boat in Algonac.

Good luck to you in your move. I have lived in this community for 43 years and this board is not consistent with how most people behave and act with each other - especially when they are face to face.
