Well, Well, Well we spend money like water to have the finest equipment for these idiots, what seems to be the problem don't they know how to use it. They are becoming as effective as our Police Department. We have to have new Dodge Chargers with all the goodies - We have to have all the Fire Trucks with all the goodies. We need up dated computers for the scout cars - We need up dated computers for the fire trucks. Like I have stated about the Police Department they should make it mandatory to serve at least a two year apprenticeship in Detroit before becoming a cop in SCS. I would say the same would apply for the Firemen if they can't perform their job properly. Our D.P.W. Director got caught cashing in scrap metal for money. Maybe the fire department has a inside construcyion companies that the insurance recommend for rebuilding these homes. I wouldn't really want to think towards this direction but in reality this city sucks. They would screw up a free breakfast. VOTE YES FOR POLICE AND FIRE MILLAGE! that will be coming next please remember these issues when going to the voting polls.

hey its the truth !! at one time a shores fire fighter put house fires out, now they dont wanna get dirty they rather play paramedic and drive old folks to the hospital, they suck at fire fighting and their pay should be reduced they make over 100k a year to let a house burn down thats is just crazy!! thats my tax dollars so i do got a say in it.. I say reduce their pay make them accountable for house fires & if they dont like it REPLACE THEM i know we can attract better workers for less we should look into this asap! you cant say they got talent when every house is a total loss!!! look at the records you will agree!!

the fire dept sucks and really if your house is on fire your better off putting it out yourself , they will treat your fire as a major training exercise and let it burn, hell they don't care about your house 97 percent of them live outside of the shores, like macomb twp ,chesterfield twp shelby twp etc

CUT THEIR PAY!!

I've found the opposite to be true... The neighborhood drunk/acid head's piece of shit house caught on fire a few years back (because he was too stoned to notice the smoke the rest of the neighborhood had been smelling, but couldn't locate, all day).

Eventually, flames came roaring out of the 2nd floor windows. I came outside just in time see the FD drag this fat turd away from the TV he was passed out in front of. Then they put the fire out pretty quickly.

When they were cleaning up, I jokingly asked one of the fire dudes if they couldn't have just let the derelict shack burn to the ground after they had all the (one) people out. He laughed and said, "You'd be surprised how often people ask us that."

Nice work Code-enforcement Sandy, you useless leach. I can only hope u still read this blog.

End result? Insurance company rebuilt this crap-shack like new inside, and the outside still looks like it belongs in Detroit, with s-loads of building violations.

Again, nice job CDI.

After reading all the comments on house fires. I get the impression that most want their property put on higher ground than that of saving lives. BTW That is the first priority of the first responders. Practicing fire prevention is the residents job. Things like keeping the area around your furnace, dryer, fridge, and oven free from debris. The overloading of circuts, storage of flamables and fire place use. These are contributors to major fires that sweep through structures at a very high clock rate. Plastic products act as accelerators. Check your fire detector alarms and replace the akaline batteries.
Your own awarness of your dwelling is your best way of preventing fires.

Matthew, you better get your little expensive boy out on the practice field and start putting out little bags that are on fire then graduate to bon fire then maybe dog house then to houses then to commercial building then maybe to industrial building because it appears they are not worth a f--- at putting out just regular house fires. Maybe because they didn't have the expertise in put a bloodpressure monitor on the house, or did they go north when in fact they were supposed to be going south. Great bunch you have there Podolski lets hear your big build up speech at the council meeting along with jerk off Mike Smith and Matt AbcdefghijkSKI. Podolski has a week to rehearse his speech this should be a good one, another jerk off that I can't wait to see his tail lights. I don't know why the council is wait for him to breakin the new City Manager, I'm sure he will screw that up also.

i say cut the fire fighters pay, they aint woth no wheres what their being paid and the ones that dont like it , let see if they can find a new job with the same pay..NO WORRIES THEY WONT AND THEY WONT LEAVE EITHER!! so cut their pay and save my tax money!!!!! i mean after all the ambulance runs make bug bucks they now charge tax millage and flat fee for the wagon plus mile etc etc, i think if thats allowed then let other ambulance companies compete in the shores why is the fire dept your only source????
