<quoted text>Once again you show your complete ingnorance about economics.
"The reason the US held such a manufacturing stronghold was because the rest of the world was rebuilding from the devastation of the second world war."
Please tell me one western counrty that did not have there manufacturing infrastructure rebuilt by 1960?
How long has Japan been exporting more goods from the US than importing?
Who's established manufacturing base was destroyed by world war 2?
Once again you try to look smart and you fail.
You also change your stripes quite alot.
I thought you were concerned about our waste contractor providing a fair wage........but when someone rips Roberts for a foreign car we seem to forget about the American worker. Leave your beliefs behind to support your candidate. That is if they are not the "beliefs du jour".
Back up this ill informed statement please.
I never said anything about a fair wage. I said focusing so much time on deal that showed little savings while continuing to shell out a large amount of tax dollars to wages and benefit. Was being misguided.

Second, I don't have the time nor the space to get into vast economic discussion but to ignore the effect on the US economy of a war time production and the GI bill on the overall health of the country is just being assinine. While the rest of the world rebuilt and re-tooled.

Third, the great thing about this country is you can buy whatever you want. If you choose not to vote for someone based upon their buying, more power to you. But to degrade that person over those purchases is stupid.

Probably becauase you have no clue.
War time production? 60 years ago? You obviously have no clue or else you could respond in as much space as you just used.

I am degrading her on her inability to have a clue on how to be a successful politician. Stupidity is running rampid in the Democratic party.

War time production was the glue which held the American economy together during WWII. Look no further than Willow Run, read some history about how all the factories in the US banded together to help build war materials; in spite of the hardships of rationing everyday products from nylons to gasoline, the war time economy was a HUGE factor.

After the War, the Marshall Plan (see George C. Marshall) helped rebuild a devastated Europe while at home our plants were basically 'retooled'. We provided the means for Europe and Japan to out maneuver us and they did. While we were stuck in the "Mad Man" age (see television) Europe and Japan were developing new and innovative manufacturing processes. At first, all products stamed "made in Japan" were shoddy, but look at them now. In Europe, they were already light years ahead of us in developing gas efficient automobiles (see Hitler - volkswagen).

While all that was going on, the US and its workers, mostly union, were ignoring the fact that the gravy train was running on shoddy tracks.

Before you go telling someone else to do their homework, perhaps you need to do a bit more reading on your own.

Like I said it had very little to do with our economy after trhe 1960's. It had everything to do with our economy prior to that.

Still waiting for anything of substance on the topic at hand.

Gotta love when your little defense mechanism though. If you are going to attempt to attack someone at least get the correct idea right before you post it. Then you could at least get the match the poster with the statement.

First it was council members hiding behind fake names, then it was Fair wages, now it is school of choice. Keep trying eventually you have to hit the dart board.

So know your gonna try and deny the fact that you are in favor of school of choice? Do I need to pull up that thread? Stop trolling. You have never written a word of substance on these bloggs. All you do is whine about pensions, but have you made an effort to remedy that problem? No. So do me a favor and troll elswhere and remember when you make an assinine statement like, trying to tie in todays economy to world war II I will be there to help show your continued ignorance.

There you go again.

I never tied todays economy war time production nor the 20 year growth that followed.

I never said I was in favor of school of choice.

The only troll here is you, sorry but you are the one who continues to belittle others who share a different opinion.

You really need to stop assuming.

You are the one calling others stupid and ignorant and then you make a statement like that. Explains a lot.

You better believe I called Sarah Roberts choices stupid. Because they were. Is "ignorant" really belittleing someone. I feel I am ignorant on as number of subjects. It seems that the only people who would be insulted by that word are those who have a major inferiority complex.
There at least I tied it to the thread.

Why don't all of us just try to get along ?

If we all stick together , and nail the false , negative , city lying do gooders , then we can share our opinions on a more constructive basis !

Don't dislike someones comments , because you will have others on your side ,instead don't worry about others thoughts , just think about your own and post them !

BELITTLE = who gives a ----

PICKING ON OTHERS = who gives a ----

All I'm trying to say is ,we are better than the city salary employees , because we are the city !

Things will stay the same if we keep letting them walk all over our neighbors !
