As a thirtd shift thorntons employee the companies lack of Clear security camera footage worries me. All of their cameras are very bad quality this is the year 2013 and now even HD cameras are cheap and affordable they need to up the anty on thier SECURITY systems ASAP. COME ON! the cameras are basically useless and for show. they don't help at all/.

zlzleez, what a tragedy this is and even with better quality cameras I don't think it woulda mattered. The employee didnt stand a chance against this sick and twisted killer coming in dressed all in black and with his face, head, entire body covered up. Even was wearing two different shoes. This guy is disguised way too good for any camera or even eyewitnesses to even have a clue to what he really looks like. Can't blame the camera system here. It's just a really sad and senseless act committed by the alleged assailant.

I used to work at this exact location and the third shift often. I was terrified of something like this happening. I would drop money into the safe every chance I got and one day it occured to me- I don't want to die over 25.00 and whatever the coin counter had. I started having my friends sit with me while I worked. I know it upset my manager at the time, but as a young female that was decently attractive, one could only imagine what prowlers thought. A week before I decided my fears werent ridiculous and quitting I even had a gentleman come in and try to get me drunk. Thats when id had enough. I often wonder how many of the customers intended to rob the place (the ones who never purchased gas or items but cased the store and left) but decided not to because I had company there. Its sad that this young man lost his life, his family a son, brother etc, and Thorntons several thousands of dollaes in business because some sick in the head, loser wanted the mere what- 150.00 max he made it out with? Senseless.
