Picasso Art and theArena is a great exhibit. Great way to start the 500th. Only Michael Gold ululates -- is he angry that he, Tea Partiers and the Whetstones were not invited? Or regretting culture, diversity and the growing sophistication of our city, subject of Record editorial today? What do you reckon?

I'm not ululating, Ed. I am expressing a commonly held belief that money spent entertaining the artsy-fartsy at the expense of the hoi polloi taxpayer is exclusionary, elitist and not sophisticated at all.

Are you implying that the common man, who was not invited to the $10,000 private party paid for with their tax dollars, was somehow less sophisticated, cultured, or diverse?

You are not a taxpayer here Mikey so don't complain. Maybe they will have an Elvis velvet painting exhibit in Palm Coast that you will be invited to. Watch your mailbox or p.o. box for the invite so you can rise to the status of elitist.

Good Lord, stumpy! You haven't got a leg to stand on. I understand from friends here in Gloucester that her majesty may have Mr. Gold knighted. Cheers!

In Germany, we revere Mike for his contributions to humanity. He mixes well at ANY party, except your friends in the National Socialist German Workers' Party.

Thanks to Michael Gold for all you do, sir.

No one likes Mike? You must be crazy. Go soak your head in the Pearl River Delta.

Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.

Leave Mike alone and go fondu yourself.

What do you mean by hoi polloi? You are misusing the term in a way Pericles might not agree with -- i thought you liked the "movers and shakers" and lived to.defend them. Uninvited, they get your ire. Sounds narcisstic and not artistic.
Do you like art? Was your omission from the guest list a mistake?

The city of St. Augustine has given the historical properties to a college in Gainesville and the Spanish Quarter to a bartender with bars in South Florida. If one wants history, this is not the place to visit.

Long live the un-sophisticated men and women who made St Augustine the city that the bedwetting, elitist, now call "our city". Pay your dues, and pay it with your own money. Jack-asses.

Certain news men who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Especially when they are tied at the hip to city staff with questionable motives. Mr. Blogger Newsman does not live or pay taxes in the city or county. Mr. Blogger Newsman does not pay his rent. Watch out for the biased news sources who represent only their own business interests of selling advertisements.

Unhappy with progress, a few nattering nabobs of negativism would prefer to bay at the moon. It is not 1964 any more!
