We have been using Pam as our pet groomer for just over 3 years.Someone told us that she worked at a pet store as a groomer here in York and we started going to her and when she left the store and opened up her own shop we decided we wouldn't go to anyone else because in our very honest opinion Pam is the very best. She's also a very caring and wonderful person who really cares about people and the pets that she grooms

Pam is a fantastic groomer and she operates a great shop. She is great with our dog and always makes us feel special when we visit her shop. She offers a wide variety of services including retail pet supplies and a self serve pet wash. Pam even donates space in her shop to the SPCA for cat adoptins! All of this and she still offers the best prices in town. Thanks for everything Pam! See you soon. Brian & Jamie

Pam has been grooming my dog Sampson ever since she opened her shop in March 2008. She does an amazing job and is always so outgoing and caring. Pam is not only my groomer...she is someone I would now consider a friend. I just recently added a new addition to the family - a shitzu named Roxy! Roxy has been in to see Pam several times already and she always comes home looking and smelling great! Pam also just brought another great groomer on board...Brittany! Stop in and see her shop. She will be happy to give you a tour and answer any questions! You won't be disappointed...tell her Shannon sent you!:)

i (no, WE) love pam and bark of the town! she does a beautiful job on my 7yr old bichon. i found out about pam at the local dog park when i asked a lady about her dog's grooming. she has been less than 10 minutes from my house and i didn't even know it! pam is a very talented lady. one time there was a gigantic german shepherd special breed in the bay window and today i dropped off the dog and their was a tiny yorkshire terrier waiting for his cut. she is very versatile and always so lovely. i love her cool shop. and, did you EVER hear of a dog grooming business that is tidy and neat? It makes me feel so good when I come home with the dog and my pre-teen says, oh! you look like a lamby-pie. not me, the dog. can't say enough good things.......great on the budget, 100x better on the service.

"great on the budget, 100x better on the service."

to clarify, her prices are excellent and her service is even better.

note to self: don't write a review after 9pm.

First time customer....took over five hours for two very small dogs and the finished product was very unsatisfactory. One dog was so-so, but the elder one still had a dirty, goopy looking face and hair was uneven. I could have accomplished the same disaster myself with a pair of shears (and I haven't been trained). Never, never going back to this grooming facility! Would rather pay a few dollars more if I need to than have my mother's dog look like this again!

as a retired groomer i have come to realize your not always going to satisfy every customer. people think it's so easy to groom their pet, but they don't understand that among their dog being scared, excited, old or young..dogs can be biters, barkers, kissers, or the kind that just go go go (hyper) to get a dog to stand still is beyond difficult and i give pam so much credit for what she does. I have been to the dog park, pet stores, etc and only every here great things about bark of the town grooming. I've been told that pam is not only great with animals but her customers as well. i can honestly say if I wasn't a retired groomer I know exactly where I would be taking my dog. DEB--- if you feel you will get a better haircut else where that's you personally decision but I can reinsure you that you will not find a groomer who will put with how your dog acts on and off the table better then pam.

We started taking our Boston Terrier to Pam to get his nails clipped, when she worked at a local pet store. When she left there, we followed her because our dog hated getting his feet touched. In fact, our vet used to clip his nails and they had to put a muzzle on him (even though he never really snapped at anyone, just growled a bit). Although our dog is still scared he is quiet and patient with Pam and the others. Pam left the store in spring and I hope the new owners keep up the great business. Let's support the GOOD local businesses!

I have taken my dogs to Pam for quite a few years, I love The Bark of the Town. As you walk in the menagerie of animals that greet you, cats, birds, bunnies show the love Pam has for animals. The atmosphere is very relaxing, staff very friendly. Daisy and Ophie are always excited coming into the shop. It is wonderful that Pam is back!!
I would recommend this shop to everyone.
