I want to know when our town is going to do something about the vandalism, unchecked young people running around the town at all hours of the night, and now a death up on
'party' road-Strutt Street. if the State Troopers and local Sheriff's dept. will not or can not doo something then maybe it is time for the town of Springwater to do something! How about starting with a town policeman- if only at night- or/and a cerfew. And how about holding the parents of these out of control young people accountable! WAKE UP SPRINGWATER!!!

I'm sorry but this comment disturbes me!!! People should know the facts of something before they start shooting their mouths off!!! The teen that was killed on this so called "party" road was my cousin and my best friend!!!! He was 18 years old and he wasn't up there at a party!!! He was tricked into getting out of the call then the driver of the car ran him over on purpose!!!! This accident as the officals are calling it was over a stolen bike that happened 2 years previous to this incident!!!! The driver Erik was and is messed up!!!! I hope you feel better now about your comment!!!!

Your cousin wasn't an angel either! Not saying he deserved any type of injury but he wasn't on a mission from God either!

If parents actually started to parent, then more kids would stay out of this kind of trouble.

Sad thing is these kids could make something out of their lives but revert to listening to rap, speaking ignorant slang and wearing baggy clothes that show their underwear.
These kids are SLOBS ! They are going NO WHERE !!!
No one will hire these scum-bag kids and if they don't do something with their lives then they deserve what comes with the rap music!

I think that the saddest part of this entire post is that everyone is looking to point their finger at someone. The fact is that a life was taken. Whether or not the person was at a party or on a mission from God...whether he was killed on purpose or if the whole thing was a terrible mishap...the CHILD is no longer alive and that's pretty hard to swallow.

I also think that it's too easy to blame people's parenting skills. As a child, I lived with 2 of the fairest, yet most involved parents imaginable...and I still managed to find "trouble" and listened to an occasional rap song and still managed to be a sucessful Accounting Manager and mother of 2. The fact of the matter is, that teenagers by default are selfish by nature and the last thing in the world that they (most of them) think about is the consequences of their actions.

As for blaming "rap music", I have to say that's just as far fetched as blaming the weather. While lyrics are certainly questionable in some rap songs, a little common sense goes a long way...no matter what age the listener happens to be. There are songs from every genre of music that mention things that people should have the common sense not to do...how about the childhood song about "bopping (the rabbit) on his head? I don't know about you, but I didn't go out chasing rabbits to bop them on the head because at 4 years old I had the common sense to know that you can't take everything literally. Just because these kids listen to music that a lot of people don't like, and dress like "slobs" doesn't mean that they are "scum-bags" or that they will go no where in life or even that "deserve" to be found dead on the side of the road...that's not what comes with the rap music.

I really think that what happend that night was really mest up. A young man lost his life. I understand both sides. I would be very hurt if either boys were my familey. I believe it was a accident I know Erik yes he does have problems but he is a great person and would have done anything for anybody. But my thing is if you drink and drive then you have to pay for what you caused. I feel really sorry for both famileys. I know both of the younge men.

Wow, some of you need to go back to school and learn how to spell and use punctuation correctly. Once you've mastered the spelling part you can put those words into sentences and paragraphs.

Reading this makes me wonder how many of you graduated from high school and who is in second grade. I hope those with the spelling issues aren't raising children. It's good to know how to spell before helping children with homework.

Education is a wonderful thing. Take advantage of it and stop coming across as an idiot.
