Cake Decorating Classes

I am going to be teaching cake decorating with Chef Bob at The Antique Mall in Trussville. This will not be a "Michaels" type class. This will be professional cake decorating, but will work for anyone who wants to make cool cakes. Trust me, I know alot of tricks of the trade that you won't get from your typical class.

I have been doing cakes professionally for over 10 years. I have had cakes featured in national magazines, taken lessons from Colette Peters who is known throughout the world for her cake artistry and been featured on the Food Network many times, and I have worked in some of the best bakeries in town.

I will gear the classes toward your desires. It will be small classes for greater attention to each student.

Just wondering if you teach cake decorating classed for beginners.

Well, the first round of beginners classes are over and they were a huge success. All of the students want to continue on to the intermediate classes.

Candice who had already taken classes elsewhere said: "I loved your class ..We really did learn alot in a short amount of time. I liked learning how to ice the cake smoothly, the recipes, the petit fours, the fondant, everything! You are a very good, patient teacher. I had a great time and look forward to next "semester".

Janice said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed these classes and learned a great deal through hands-on experience. Misty is an experienced decorator, patient, friendly, and full of helpful tips about cake baking and decorating. Having never attended a cake class, I was not sure what to expect, so I was especially pleased to learn that Misty provided all the baked cakes, all the necessary frosting, cake turn tables, boxes etc. What a nice surprise to realize I would get to take home a fully decorated and delicious cake every week."

The beginners class will be 6 classes at 2 hours each for $190. We provide cakes, icing, boards, boxes, turntables, fondant, and some other supplies. You will be required to bring your own basic supplies. If you need to purchase these, I have them available at a reduced rate. To get the very basics you will need is around $40.

This is REALLY a good deal as you will get 6 delicious cakes in all AND instruction from one of the best in town. I personally paid $600 for a 2 day class from Colette Peters once--not including air and hotel. Plus the "cakes" we worked on were styrofoam.

At the current proposed rate I will only have 5 or so students.

Chef Bob will help teach some depending on his schedule, but I will be the
primary teacher.

Classes will start in mid to late March.
