I was second on the scene before PD and EMT. I also am looking for more info. The person who was driving the victim was HIGH on meth and I couldn't really understand everything she was saying about what happened to him.

I am not a very important politician of Parker County. But, it sure would be a blessing to remove some of the older employees on the sherrifs Dept. Payroll. I just know what i have witnessed and it seems there are atleast one or two older gentlemen. In which are w/ the Parker county Dept. and they are with all due respect going possibly senile. There are far more capable younger gents w/ the dept. Whom seem to be very good at what a sherrifs deputy does. The older gent I am referring to, thought his 125 lb body was in good enough shape to carry out his duties obviously. But, I think it is just an accident waiting to happen. Now days, these younger kids wont hesitate to disrespect a cop no matter what title they hold. I am just trying to keep somebody grandad from breaking a serious limb during a simple scuffle. God bless you sir, whomever you are. If he didn't run his mouth like Barney Fife. I wouldn't probably worry so much about his well being. Just cool it abit or retire, it's not worth an injury that won't ever heal at your age sir!! God Bless you sherrif..

What concerns me is that there r those who would question the validity of our WONDERFUL PARKER COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES AT ALL??!! After all the sacrifice and courageous duties they perform year in and year out, have no doubt that when duty calls, that "older gentleman" Deputy could probably tear a youngster in half. My question is what r you trying to drive at? What has this got to do with the issues? Nothing. Your just getting in a political plug. If your elected you'll probably clear out the entire sheriff's dept and the sheriff along with em. Yeesh, nasty piece of work you r.
I apologize for expressing my opinion..
This is a fine county I live in, and don't wish for any 65 and older gents to be handicapped unecessarily.. I have lived in Weatherford all my life. My concerns were a legitimate concern not a joke. It sounds like you are protecting your own ego from your stand point of being a ripe age. That is exactly what gets people your age and older severely injured. They don't know when its time to hang up their saddle and retire. That is what killed my grandfather, it will be the death of my father I'm afraid as well. Some times you just got to use common sense and listen to your loved ones.. It is easier said then done I have to believe. But, at what stake? Are you willing to risk others life's for this type of stubbornness??? I know that 65+ year old deputy. Couldn't pass a physical in the big city departments right now. So in what regard do you feel these physical standards are set??? Don't be ignorant just answer me this serious questions..

Why in the world is a 65 yr old man still on active duty as a deputy? Isn't it a real safety issue on all sides? Maybe the whole department should be looked at and find out if there are any more potential problems to be found with the personel. Rumor is that the whole department is filled with relatives and just do believe that is nepotism and against the rules. Where there is smoke there is always fire. Lets see what is being done with all the money as well, could be a real surprise of the non-pleasant kind. That public money is almost irresistable, remember the previous sherrif, Jay Brown and his little kingdom.

That is exactly right! I am on the same page as you are on this matter... It is just plain ridiculous, irresponsible as a department. I am sure the younger deputies who are responding on call to assaults. Would have to agree a man of Barney Fife's stature showing up for backup. Is not going to give the deputy much physical help if needed. Times are changing, and the cat in Tree calls are not as common. My biggest disappointment would have to be.... The young man who can't get on the department, who is fresh out of military.
All because of a slot being filled in by,
Someone's semi-retired Grandaddy. If your tax dollars could vote I'm sure they would want the best man for the job. I might be just plain old fashioned, but I still think the jobs ought to go to the best suited for the position. These aren't reruns of Happy Days were living in I am afraid. So how about giving this county a (full fledged Sherriffs Department)..
