"The 63-year-old driver who hit Sgt. Arnold could face charges if it is determined that he was on his cell phone when he ran into the back of the officer's car."
Did any charges come against this 63 year old driver? Why were they inattentive? Was it because of intoxication or were they determined to be distracted while on a cell phone.
Whatever happened, this was an absolute waste of a fine Sheriff's Deputy. Rusty had come to our house after a call, and he was absolutely a textbook model officer. He will be sadly missed.
As for the moron who rear-ended him, I have absolutely no mercy for you, your family, or your soul. None. This happens way too much around the country. Inattentive drivers distracted by various things. You need to keep your eyes on the road at all times. Too bad, you didn't kiss the a** end of a 18-wheeler. Maybe that would have taught you a lesson---death sometimes does that, because eternity is forever.
It's always, always, the innocent ones that pay the price for other's stupidity. The Reaper has spoken.
