Full story: Fort Worth Star-Telegram

They dont need property taxes in Reno, they have there Speed Traps all up and down Hwy 199. The "City" of Reno took in approx. 7-8 miles of Hwy 199 as city limits so they could run speed traps for General revenue. And they do it with a twist, they hide off city limits,(some times on privite property) running there traps. I know I've a victum of there zeal. How odd it was a Police Officer from another City and a different county(Pelacan Bay) driving a Police Car from Pelacan Bay gave me my ticket at 4:55am going to work. He had placed his unit across the front doors of the Fire Dept. with his lights off. He was out of the city limits of Reno he was contracted to work for using what ia known as Entraptment.(But thats how they operate)Very odd I got a ticket From Reno,(whos city Hall address at the time was in Azle, Tx)by a Pelacan Bay Police Officer(some 10 miles from his city limits, and 4 miles from his county)his dispatcher in Westlake. Due to Reno's Speedtrap ways I for one will not buy anything form any merchant along hwy 199 where there city limits is. I donated enogh to there Funds. This is my Opinion and I beleive it with my heart and soul, in fact if Reno trys to put my property in there City Limits I'm selling out to the 1st Sucker I can find and move on. Reno needs to do like the city of Brairthats no longer there. Go out of busness and not be a city any more.

I live in springtown. there isn't anything in springtown attractive. the roads are absolutely horrible in the city. the street lights are burned out, reported and not fixed, the police harrass anyone out in the a.m. hours, the water isn't safe. the taxes are outrageous. what is the tax money spent on?????? With the new growth in springtown there is alot of new revenue. i am newer to the area but my neighbors say there haven't been improvements made here in years. i wish i would have located in a different county. our council members don't seem to be working for the people of the city. what is worse is i don't hear anyone in an uproar about being taken for their hard earned dollar.

I live in Springtown and I dearly love it here. I used to live in Southern California and when when my husband was transferred here I cried. We spent a lot of time shopping houses and neighborhoods, schools, taxes, and anything else we could think of. We liked Springtown, bought a nice house, and settled in. My property taxes are higher than CA, but not by much and there is no state income tax here. The roads aren't perfect, but they are at least paved. In CA most of the peripheral roads in rural areas are dirt. My water is good- I know because the well was contaminated by heavy metals from mining where we used to live, so the first thing I did when we got serious about a house here was to have the water tested. I will admit that I don't like the taste of the water, but I just use a filter. I have never been harassed by the police in any way and the one time I needed them they responded promptly, were courteous, and I couldn't have asked for better help. I love the park along the creek in town and everyone I have dealt with, from shopkeepers to strangers has been friendly. In CA I spent over $1200 a month to keep my kids in private school because the schools were so bad. My kids are attending public school here, have not had to deal with the behavioral problems with other students that we encountered in other states, and are receiving an education comparable to what they were getting in private school. I have lived in a lot of places, but this is the first place where I really wanted to stay. I have to wonder if "Taxpayer" and I are even living in the same town.

Concerning a citation being written by one of our officers while in Reno city limits? I would like to know when your ticket was received from a Pelican Bay Police Officer? Especially at 4:55 am?
Several years ago, Pelican Bay Police officers were hired to patrol Reno city's limits. But they have not done so since 2005 when Reno started their own PD.
IF you have received a citation from a Pelican Bay Police officer after 2005 or most importantly, within the last year, PLEASE go visit PBPD Chief Towns about this. Our officers know they are not to write citations outside of city limits, and especially in Reno.
They have no reason for them to be on 199 at 4:55 am.
I am concerned about this and will look into it myself.

The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem, AND the City Secretary of Reno all previously worked in Fairview (now new Fairview). The Mayor and Mayor Pro tem resigned, and the City Secretary was removed from office! Why are they all now working together in our small town?
New Fairview has a web site where you can look up these three people:
http://ci.new-fairview.tx.us/ (follow the "City Documents" link) to search the documents, or click here:

I've lived in Parker County for 10 yrs and the road system is horrible at best. More people spend their hard earned $ keeping their vehicles fixed because of the battering they take on the roads. As for the cops, I've never had a bad run in with any of the forces, except for the State Police Officer of the area about 2 yrs ago. He was just an absolute moron. After witnessing an accident, he didn't even take my statement (I was the only witness to it), he started talking to the rubber-neckers that were stopping and taking statements from them. I though WTF? After it was all done, I took his number and said, "That was the worst example of police I have ever seen in my lifetime." And walked away. I talked to his superior, but nothing came of it. I've never had a run in with Reno. I vote there all the time. I never see their police officers anywhere. Springtown, well never had trouble with them at all, but I've heard all the stories. I just think more needs to be done about our roadways and for the City of Springtown, they need to fix not patch the roadways. Where does all our money go too???? Nicely lined pockets?

Well after all your complaining and dumb a$$ comments about Reno's city council, when the chance came for YOU or any other complainers to do something, what do you do?? BAIL OUT!! Not any of you had the balls to file and run for office but you get such GREAT pleasure out of running your stupid beliefs on this site. Just goes to prove, you're nothing more than motor mouths without a clue on how to fix anything, including your big mouth.
Now that Reno is NOT having an election, all candidates are running unopposed, time for YOU to pack up your stupid views and go back to your mommie!!
Your opinions don't matter SQUAT any more. Change? Maybe you should change the diaper your wearing, its full of CRAP!!

Just because no one was opposed this time doesn't mean they won't be next time.

The police chief enforces the school zone every morning. And, he works the night shift.
Reno has its issues, especially with folks who would rather keep their piles of junk and old cars next to their single wide. They don't pay much in taxes, but they vote! I wish there were more zone enforcement, rather than less, so tax-paying homeowners would build site-built homes in Reno. With a little foresight, we could be more like Willow Park, and less like Pelican Bay or Sansom Park...

And what a total dimb ass you are!! No elections in Reno, no new members on council, so suck it up you dirty rat and live with your choices, as for me I think its great that no one has the balls but to ONLY complain and take NO ACTION. Your lack of actions really show that your nothing more than a cockroach running in circle.
Have a good day living with yourself. LOL
