I was so amazed at the out poor of area police, EMT's and fire departments going through Springtown yesterday in honor of our fallen officer in Bridgeport. Not only close area departments but ones from pretty far away came to honor him.

It really touched me and I felt honored getting to watch each car as they passed. I thought, with all the bad that we are exposed to daily (i.e. the economy, global warming, murders, and child abuse etc. on the news)good still is within us and we can come together when times are hard. I personally have been with out of a job for over 2 months and had spent most of my day driving or on the Internet looking for work that day. I was feeling extremely deflated that day, but after sitting at a red light and seeing that....brought back light into my soul.

I feel sympothy for both familys. However bc it was a cop he will probably serve on death row. Its sad n i feel for the cop but however saying to hang the other dude of a tree with a rope is ignorant. that is the father of two boys and may i remind u he was not in the right state of mind.

I have quite a bit of sympathy for Mr York. Although I knew and respected Officer White, and have extreme sympathy for his family, I am amazed by the lack of protection the Bridgeport PD provided to the citizens of Bridgeport. As Mr York came into the PD multiple times earlier in that day (out of his mind with terror, whether on drugs or not) saying that someone was chasing him and trying to kill him, and was turned away, was it really any wonder that someone died??? If he would have been treated fairly at any time he'd gone into the station, then alot of heartache could have been prevented. Don't get me wrong, I think that the Bridgeport PD is usually wonderful, but in this instance they did not Protect and Serve. I, for one, am sorry that this is what has happened...

York was a rapist, I.V. Drug user, and an all around two bit piece of wasted flesh. His kids would do well to forget the name. He deserves whatever he'll god has for him.
