The Parma Sandstone Police department plays a very important role in our community here. I wish that more people would get involved in what is happening here, instead of just kicking back and waiting for everyone else to do something about it, and then complaining when it didn't go the way they wanted. We need the police department here and this township needs to fight for it. We need to wake these people up. Without our police department here the crime rate would be astronomical. But, it isn't just that, our police department provides so many more services than just fighting crime.
They are always responding to and assisting in accidents, domestic violence calls. They do catch a lot of druck drivers and speeders, who would be on our roads with our kids, if it wasn't for them. I believe these are the people who speak out the most about being against the department because they are mad that they were caught.
The Parma Sandstone Police department is very much involved in the community here and plays a vital role in it's being safe and keeping it's crime rate down. I don't think people realize either just how big the district is that they have to cover with just the police officers we have. They need to be commended on the great job they do on a daily basis. Their job is mostly thankless, as most people that they see, don't want to see them. But, they do it day in and day out.
Like I said, we need to wake up and get involved in our town and what is going on here. We need this police department and if you think we don't, just try to imagine our town without it. Who are you going to call when your house gets broken into? or something worse.

Imo, we dont need a police department. Look at our town. Its DYING. The only good thing to happen in this town in a long time is the rogers family cafe.(Chubbys).

The problem here, is that its a dead town. Nothing to do, nowhere to shop. This is because the town cant secure funds to expand. Ditch the Police and outsource to ER or Albion for a few Patrols daily, and we can get more stuff. See the abandoned main street buildings? Those can be removed with proper funds. See how we need a park? Those can be added with money. If our town had more funds, we could make a it wonderful place. Not a dead place that none of the new and future gens want to live. My son James and all his friends at SP High, have stated they have no intention of being in this town in the future. Why would they? Its boring, dead, and run terribly. This can change with a few simple things...
