I think the mother needs to be charged to. Who would leave thier kid with a sex offender? What was she thinking? Why don't police arrest her for child endagerment.

sounds like a Jerry Springer family and they where probably a bunch of welfare bums. Government should stop supporting these dysfunctional people and take their kids away if they are unable to take care of them without aid.

Every town or neighborhood in larger cities should have safe homes so kids can run away from home and have a place to go and no fear of being sent back to their dysfunctional family.

All the money currently used to support their welfare mooch families could be used to support the homes for children.

It's probably time for Vermont to wake up and make sex offenders serve more than three years for rape and kidnapping. Lack of punishment is the rule, not the exception.

Better YET education .....people have a lack of knowledge not only in parenting but the offenders.

WHO would leave there child with a offender..???
or even drop off a 12 yr old to go meet with anyone.? PARENTS should have spoke to the people and waited for her to be picked up.

The dad says he thought she was safe they had a talk..DUH

she was 12 HELLO no matter what kind of chat they had hes not a safe person .

i have a 12 year old girl and could not even think of dropping her off at a gas station to meet someone i didn't even know!!! she has a myspace that is set private and is not allowed to talk to noone that is not approved by me and i would not even think to let her talk to strangers online and agree to let them meet her at a GAS STATION!!! the mother is just as sick as the uncle and stepfather???? just to show how people need to spend more time with their children talking to them, monitoring them and their every move!!!

I can't believe for a second offense he could have gotten away with only 10 years--especially when it involved a minor. Now after what he did to that poor girl, he should get the chair.

He might get death, this time. Kidnapping is federal. The feds are filing.
