And how are we going to pay for it when we get 10 people with luikemia having bone marrow transplants at the same time to the tune of $7.5 million dollars in charges.

Bernie...we don't have the money. We aren't big enough to spread the risk enough. We are not socialists like you admittedly are.

Butt crack Bernie needs to pull his pants up. He has been seen on more than one occasion with his assss hanging out.

He is a big man when he is spending other peoples money or money nobody has.

Typical socialist spending money today so we can lose money on interest tomorrow and have less to spend the day after.

You are not socialists?
How is the 'public-school' system funded (NINETY % of our town taxes!)?
How about infrastructure?
Medicare/Medicaid?
Unemployment benefits?
All government programs including law enforcement & military, to name only a couple?
Public libraries?

And you feel those in need should NOT receive health care? What do you propose? Just let everyone die? Or perhaps by your reasoning let everyone get sicker, how do you think THAT will affect our economy?

Great post!

Comrade Bernie WHO PAYS FOR THIS???It sure looks like the stooge socialist play to redistibute wealth. At a time when private insurance is growing significantly in countries with the single payer systems, tells me this vaunted system is failing and we are going in the wrong direction!

I already have health care insurance. I don't need the government or you to pay my premiums. Your post is a classic liberal strawman approach which avoids the real issue and that is how much are we going to keep adding to the responsibility of government and removing from the responsibility of the individual. We already have 50% of the workforce paying an effective tax rate of $0. What are you suggesting...that you should be able to stop working and the government will support you and your family and it is all paid for by someone else who is more responsible than you are?

Vermont is a small state and cannot afford the risk associated with a single payer system. Unless of course when we get in trouble from our own irresponsibility we go and get a bailout from the federal government and put our burdens, caused by our own mismanagement on some taxpayer from some other state.

How about free food? And don't we all need transportation? How about the government providing us with a car? And what about the medical marijauana? How about government provided medical marijauna? Oh and gee I don't live in a very nice house like the guy who holds two jobs and lives one street over. How about government gets me a better house?

We can't afford all the socialism we have already any more and the debt will be so great the whole system will collapse. The US already has the largest total debt in the world. If you factor the GDP then the US looks better by comparison, but the GDP is growth is stagnant.

It's like saying well my neighbor has a $100,000 debt on his home and only makes $10,000 a year, while I a have a million dollar debt, but I make $200,000 a year so I am no doubt better off, but who has the most debt, pays the most interest, and has the most to lose?

the public school system is not a socialist idea.

Medicaid and medicare is paid into an account by all of us (that work) and is like a savings account that we have established to be pulled out when we retire. Same with social security. It is not the governments money it is my money. That is how it was created and how it is administered and that is why I will pull our more than you because I worked harder than you and paid more in.

Law enforcement is socialist? I don't think so.

The government funded military is socialist? come on you can't be serious.

Unemployment taxes are socialist in nature but because we have lived in such a successful and wealthy country the impact of the program has avoided scrutiny. That appears to be over. If you are unemployed you may not be able to get another job like the one you had.

Barney, been out in the woodshed rolling a fat one again, sounds like it. Did any one see last week jolly old England announced it is taking there socialized medical program out of the hands of the government lawyers and managing bureaucrats and turning it back over to the Doctors where it should be.Hopefully to stop the waiting lines and wasteful spending along with the red tape. Barney and some others should watch Fox at least once a week so as to see what is going on. Funny CBS ABC never carries a lot of things like this. How can any one make an assessment or a statement when watching only one source.Mr.Dubey, GOD bless his heart, a real VITER. After a couple beers and a few friendly discussions at the bar. He would say, If one does not know for certain, nor the truth one can not state the facts accurately.

Not really worried about capitalism because it is run by people with ideas and the energy to implement them and since the begining of time the capitalist types have always run circles around people like you. No matter how you try to gain advantage by restricting the "capitalists" you will fail because they will always have more energy and ideas that will in fact take advantage of any changes you propose.

What you should worry about as one of the bottom 50% not paying any real taxes is that the capitalists will figure out a way to make you responsible for yourself. And they will do it because they know it will raise your self esteem.

I like how your answer isn't "but I don't live for capitalism!" Because you do. If you weren't able to make money and get more more more, you wouldn't know WHAT to do with yourself. It's not your fault, it's all you know.

So what do you live for? What keeps you getting up in the morning? What do you do for the greater good of mankind?

providing for our own survivial?
we should apologixe for that now?

I guess if I have to share what i make with others, that leaves them free to pursue less mundane courses of life...
is that what you are saying?

So I guess it is a better idea to make less money or even better to depend on someone else for life's needs...Nothing wrong with capitalism and while I'm at it I worked my but off to get where I am and to have what may family and I have. You act like there is something onerous or wrong with that!! Sorry I'm proud of it!

If your goal in life is to sit home on your @ss and push out kids I should not have to foot the bill for you. If you want to live a life style that puts you at risk of living an unhealthy life , unprotected sex with multiple partners, drugs, smoking etc.. why should anybody else pay for your personal choices , were not telling you no you canít live your life the way you want we just donít want to pay for it. It is hard enough to pay for our own lives. Your Freedom to be you is the same Freedom that allows me to be free from you.
