Just wanted you to know of an incidence I had with Verizon Wireless. In November I called about turning off the service to my sisters phone and to find out when my contract was up. I had checked my online account and it said my two years were up on December 12, but I wanted to make doubly sure. The guy I spoke too said it was up on December 22nd and that he would have the phones turned off then. In December, cant remember the date, I called to make sure the phones would be turned off. The man I spoke to then said my contract was not up till April and I would be charged an early termination fee. I told him I had spoken to someone in November who told me it was up in December, this new guy said the December date was my new every two program for a new phone. Well, Im sorry, if I got a new phone two years ago shouldnt my contract be up??? We discussed this, well I yelled, and he said he was going to get a supervisor. He put me on hold, came back, said he was working on it and when he came back again he said he was going to turn off both phones on the 22nd of December and waive the early termination fee.
Fine, until I got a bill in the mail today. They never turned off my phone. I called and told them what happened. No help! Talked to the woman first, she said all she could do was turn off the phone but could not waive the fee. I said let me talk to your supervisor and she put on Ben ID #323774, he said there was nothing he could do. Does he think Im an idiot! He said they were not responsible for what the operators tell us and that the contract supersedes what I was told. He would not waive the fee. I asked to talk to his boss and he said I would have to wait 12 to 24 hours to get a call back.
I told him fine but I would like a transcript of the phone conversation I had with the guy in November and December sent to me. He said he couldnt do that. They did not save the calls. I said the recorded voice in the beginning says calls will be recorded. He said that was for their use. Of course it was.
Plus, when the girl that I spoke with today looked up my calls, none of them had left notes as to why I was calling and what it was pertaining too.
My fight continues, I am LIVID! I am not paying an early termination fee after they told me my contract ended on the 22nd.
