Almost right, the driver didn't complain at all about chest pains, he spoke actually leading up to the accident 30 seconds before hand, looks more like a seizure more then a heart attack or w.e everybody was fine but let just say it was pretty scary

I saw the bus minutes after the crash, I was going north on 91. You could see people climbing out from the top, within minutes I saw State police responding, going south on 91. It was a terrible site to see. On my way back, everyone was directed off the interstate and when heading over the new Putney bridge all you could see as far as you could see were red and blue lights. I have never seen so many at one time. I pray they all come through this safely. God bless the emergency responders they did a wonderful job.

The bus was "en route", not "in route", and "lead" is used when it should be "led". And I didn't even major in English. I was just educated when grammar was still taught.

Consider why a group of students from Mass would be heading to Quebec in the first place.

The drinking age there is 18...

Skidding "15 feet"? Heck, the bus is at least twice that length.

So you're implying these students ALL OVER 18 years old saved their money, rented a bus just to drive to Quebec to drink? Would have been cheaper to stay in town at a frat house! If you read the article you would see that they were going on a ski trip. People do ski, you know! GROW UP and don't be such a prude!!

Big daddy gave us the ski trip to calm us down and party hardy as its 4 long weeks before Christmas vacation then 8 weeks till spring break in FL.or Mexico we need these because of the stress, on second hand may be a new BMW would help. Whats wrong with skiing in New England. I bet the 51 million Americans that are out of work and Christmas around the corner would love what this trip cost.

TO GO SKIING, STUPID! For your information, there were actually 7 or 8 buses, and it was a UMASS SCHOOL TRIP!

These are UMASS students-so to imply that there is "big money" involved is ignorance on your part. Also, this was a SCHOOL TRIP, with 7-8 buses total-that means at least 250-300 persons in one group...this was paid for by the folks who raised and saved the money to go there...how is that your business? Oh, wait-Huntsville-THAT explains everything!

Similar- I think not...the crash of 2002 involved "too fast for conditions" meaning the bus was going too fast for the snowfall.

I agree- the crash was heard at our house, we walked down the road and could see it. The responders did a great job of handling things quickly and efficiently. I as sad to see the site, but relieving to know that we have such dedicated and well-trained folks to care for the injured and the situation. HATS OFF TO ALL THE RESPONDERS!

It absolutely was not a UMASS sponsored school trip. It was a private effort. Read from a few sources would you.

Also, Quebec's premiere ski resort there are currently 7 total trails open today (not that they necessarily were even going to that particular resort). You're telling me it's worth 8-10 hours of driving round trip for that alone?

I am sure that not a single underage drinker in Mass, or VT or NH or NY ever considered that they could go to Quebec and drink legally... And pass much bigger resorts closer to home which have much more open ski terrain.

buses should be like airplanes and have two sets of controls and a co-driver always ready to take over. It would create jobs and considering people have money to burn why not.

Let's just say this was an awful accident and not make people feel bad speculating as to why they were on the bus. It was a horrible accident! My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was involved. It was so lucky that more vehicles were not hit as the bus crossed over lanes of traffic. I hope everyone recovers quickly both physically and emotionally.

First, I will say I am a STONE(hard, cold) that is angry- not stoned, thanks very much. Second- you cannot bundle everyone in one group-some people are well off in ANY group...there was someone named Leslie that posted and said that the students had worked hard to go on this trip. But the point is that NONE of this had to do with money---folks want to go somewhere, they get the funds together and go-what difference does it make what they were going to do when they got there?

Ok everyone....what difference does it really make regarding where these people were going or what they planned to do once there? We all go places we want and for the reason we want and that is our business just as where/why these people were going is their business. Did anyone say the passengers had a gun at the drivers head telling him where to take them? Of course not! Regardless of how they paid for their trip is also their business. The facts are they were involved in an accident and many were injured. Our concern should be with their welfare, not bicker back and forth about stupid stuff that I'm reading here. Maybe they chose to ski in Canada because they've never been there or maybe they like that resort better then those in the states....doesn't matter...it's not our concern! I am just thankful no one was killed because this could have been a much worse disaster with lives lost. I am also very proud of all the rescue people that were there to help them. Thank you to them and get well wishes to all involved.

Actually, VT. has no significant snow on the trails. Granted, they are blowing it, but Quebec City has had natural snowfall accumulate on the slopes. To think that the people participating in this outing were doing so in order to drink illegally is a gross mis-calculation! Oh right, how dare they take an international trip over the border to enjoy each others company, while making bonding relationships that can be (potentially) cherished through adult life. Just think, 20 years and more down the road, you get to revisit the experience had together on the crazy ski/snowboard trip to Canada. Wish i was young again. Sign me up.
