SPRINGFIELD, VIRGINIA – February 25, 2011 – Greenspring’s Renaissance Gardens has been listed among the top 20 nursing homes in Virginia to receive a 5-Star rating from U.S. News & World Report. As Northern Virginia’s premier retirement community, Greenspring received the highest possible rating based on its exemplary performance in areas of health inspections, nurse staffing and medical care.
U.S. News rankings rely on data from the Nursing Home Compare, a consumer website run by the federal government’s Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This web-based tool provides detailed information about every Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing home in the country. CMS sets and enforces standards for all nursing homes enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid.
“We are extremely proud that Greenspring’s extended care neighborhood has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the Best Nursing Homes in America,” says Robin Gliboff, Executive Director of the continuing care retirement community.“Our inclusion in the publication’s ranking, along with the five-star rating from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, is further validation of our effort and commitment to offer the best quality of care and it’s great to have those efforts recognized by an independent third-party.”
Renaissance Gardens at Greenspring first opened in June 2001. Complete with all private rooms, Renaissance Gardens provides assisted living, short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing care as part of a new approach that maximizes independence in a health care setting.
About Greenspring: Greenspring, the largest retirement community of its type in Northern Virginia, is one of 16 campuses managed by Erickson Living, a Catonsville, Maryland, company. Opened in November 1998, Greenspring is the first Erickson campus to be built in Virginia and is home to over 1,900 residents age 62-plus. Further information about Greenspring can be found at: .
