So what? It's all a matter of public record.

The only gripe I have is that I got one too and it listed me as not having voted in 2008. This is not true. I did vote in 2008 only I was a resident of another state when I did so.

But I suppose they only checked the Virginia records.

I don't want my neighbors thinking I didn't take part when I did.

This year I'll be voting Romney and I encourage all of you to do the same.

Regardless what you think of him, we need a change and if he can't alter our trajectory in 4 years then we'll vote him out too.

On the one hand, lady, my opinion is you should vote. And my further opinion is that you should vote for the party that is least likely to be affiliated with this intimidating mailing, if you know what I mean. A quick look at their website will make it clear which candidate they back. On the other hand, don't worry about a follow-up mailing embarrassing you. Once the election is over, these people have no intention of spending a cent more on mailings, and they will crawl back under their rock and disappear for a few more years. Anyhow, they can't tell WHO you vote for. Not yet, anyhow.

I'm also voting for Romney, and from the name of the group, I'm pretty sure I'd agree with them on many issues. I'm also sure that who votes or doesn't vote is a matter of public record, as you said. All that aside, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the way public information is being used in this case. I'd be pretty unhappy if my name was used by a liberal group in this way, whether or not I had any legal recourse against them. Also, as you said, the information they printed about you was inaccurate, and someone on the Facebook post said the same thing about the use of their name (they were too young to vote in the last election). There are bigger issues at stake right now, I guess, but I'm not sure this sort of use of public information is a road we want to start down.

"Scare tactics" - yeah, like the phony "war on women" meme, the "Romney caused a woman to die from cancer" commercial, and the "Paul Ryan throwing Grandma off a cliff" ad. Those evil right wingers!!!(Oh ...wait...)

EVIDENCE is clear - from this example, from the destruction of registration forms in Rockingham County and other communities, from the affiliation of Virginia Republicans with a corrupt consulting firm associated with fraud in other states - that the Virginia Republican Party has turned toward corrupt, anti-Constitutional, anti-Good Governance plans, strategies and tactics! Vote accordingly.

The group behind the pamphlet is the Libertarian branch of the Tea Party branch of the GOP. I thought it was interesting that the story did not include that information. Going to the web site in the story will tell you all you need to know.

Once again, the self appointed parents of all Americans, are trying intimidation, and want to tell you how you should vote. Or at least shame you for past votes and threaten to expose you if you do not vote as they think you should.

While I have never been ashamed of any vote I have cast. I, as with many Americans, feel it is our personal business who we vote for. For the present administration in Richmond to have made this information available to certain groups, let's you know where their interest lies.

The tone deaf GOP leaders will never learn that they ARE NOT THE SHARPEST TACKS IN THE BOX.

I doubt it will be a landslide for either candidate. It's going to be razor-thin. And now, after the hurricane, there will be a lot of contention because so many people MIGHT be unable to vote or will have to vote a day or two later than usual because of the hurricane's wreckage. It could be 2000 all over again.

A TYPICAL DEVILISH rhetorical strategy to make FALSE equations! But, in truth, many examples of abuse are equivalent to a single example.

This was EXACTLY the DEVIL's rhetorical strategy with Jesus as evidenced in the Biblical account. The Devil said to Jesus:
'but won't God send angels to rescue you if you jump from the tower','but surely God won't begrudge you turning this stone into bread since you're hungry', etc. The Devil's strategy is to make FALSE equations, and humanity falls for the Devil's deception.

As Jesus did, the Christian's aim is to ask "what is God doing in the work; that is what we should be doing'. If you're having trouble seeing what God is doing, purpose you can - at least - see what God is NOT DOING. With certainty, from Jesus' Words, we know that God is commanding that Believers focus on the needs of the poor, the widows and orphans, the jailed, the immigrants and strangers, the vulnerable and oppressed, etc. If you prefer to focus on your own personal needs, instead, you are headed to HELL with the DEVIL. If you prefer to accumulate money on earth, rather than creating the 'wealth' of caring and healing community around you, you are headed to HELL with the DEVIL.

It would be wise to know this, and act accordingly, before you die.

You can honestly tell Romney knows he is going to lose the election. I just watched his speech he gave tonight in Newport News. I noticed quite a bit change in something that he hadn't been doing in speeches. If you do a search for a speech he did on 10/29 in Ohio and watch it, and then watch the speech he gave tonight. There is a change in what he does while giving a speech. His body language is giving away a clue.

It's what he does while giving his speech, especially when the crowd cheers after something he says. I noticed it during his speech in Newport News, which stood out. I had to go look at a speech a week ago to make sure. If you watch the two, you will see it.

The headline is misleading. Big deal that the information lets your neighbors know whether you voted or not. It does not say who you voted for. I can tell by the 4-5 banners in every other persons front yard who they support.

If the GOP had nominated an authentic candidate, they would have won this election. I don't think Obama has been great. Then again, the GOP obstruction in the House has thwarted everything. Romney is not honest though. He won't just come out and say how he would govern, what he would attempt to cut from the budget, the tax exemptions he would seek to end. The "trust me" thing is not good enough when you're running for president, and we have to assume that he believes he would be elected if he confessed his plans to gut social security or other social programs.

Romney has also been cagey about his tax returns and investments. There must be something in there that stinks, something illegal or anti-American. He knew he would have to release these if he ran for president, and he has fought tooth and nail to keep them from the public eye. Is he a tax cheat or in bed with the Iranians or the Chinese or who?

There's also the secretive nature of the Mormon cult - baptizing the dead in the middle of the night. They believe in multiple gods and multiple wives. I beg you to read The Book of Mormon as it's all in there. If you vote for a cult member, shouldn't you know what he believes?

Yesterday I had a very disturbing visitor of one of Obama's campaign. This guys caught me getting out of my car after church infron of my house, with my 7 year old daughter asking me who I was going to vote for - later in the converstion with my daughter beside me he says: "I am gay"...this is sooooooo out of control! I son't care who he is, but I care what he shares in front of my 7 year old child. It was very bad...

The amazing thing about this story is that someone actually reads those political direct-mail things. Seriously, I have wood heat and I need junk paper to start my fires, so this election season has been great!
