Downtown beer sales considered
As the Springfield Board of Mayor and Aldermen prepares to discuss allowing beer to be sold at restaurants downtown to revitalize the Square, community members have begun weighing in on the issue, both for and against.

This NOT the first time this issue has been proposed and thankfully voted down. If the citizens feel like they can't eat a meal without having a beer there are restaurants all over town they can go drink. The thought that doing it may bring out more interest in the square is absurd. Many businesses are against this and may possiby relocate if beer sales are allowed on the square. Which is more important, a thriving business or beer? I would take a business any day of the week.
