In a statement, the current pastor Steve Farmer said, "We believe the allegations against the Christian Gospel Temple are not correct or true."

Steve's comment to me was, that if his wife could forgive Paul Mears for the things he had done to her, Steve didn't see why everyone else couldn't forgive him also.

I love how almost every single one of the comments made on here were done anonymously. If you have something to say, atleast be as courageous as my sister (Jennifer Meier-Beita) has been and own up to your claims.

I believe with everything in me that the two accused people are guilty of these crimes. What happened is a very sick, disgusting, and awful thing. I cannot speak from first hand experience because I am not a victim of sexual abuse, but I have seen what it has done to my sister, Jennifer, and it greatly saddens me.

However, the church itself is not responsible for the cover ups. It was Cheryl and Crystal's OWN FAMILY that covered up their molestations. Paul did not pick out "random members" of the church and abuse his position as bro of the minister to cover up his actions. He used his position as a FAMILY MEMBER of the victims to cover up the molestations.

Furthermore, my sister was NOT molested by an "official" in the church, but by a sixteen year old hispanic boy who had only been in the church for a few years after moving to California from another country. Now did SNAP or News Channel Five care to clarify this issue? No, they did not. They are out to paint Christian Gospel Temple out in a way that will gain the most attention. They are not concerned in putting the actual truth out.

Do not get me wrong, I fully support the prosecution of Paul Mears and Carlos Cruz. I, however, fail to see how the members of Christian Gospel Temple need to be held accountable and required to LITERALLY pay for the consequences of a man's actions when they had no idea of anything that was going on.

I attended CGT from birth until a year ago, when I turned 18. I know first hand what goes on behind closed doors and I can honestly say that the actual members of that church are, for the most part, kind-hearted and truthful people. It is the Mears family that needs to be held accountable for the actions that were done and the cover-ups that were performed.

Stop being so ignorant as to believe everything the media says. You all make me absolutely sick. This whole situation makes me absolutely SICK. I have lost my church, my sister, and my faith in God because of this entire thing and I resent the fact that you all are so calloused and eager to join ranks with the rest of the CGT-bashers and forget that the members of CGT are suffering too. There are more innocent than guilty people that attend there and you all have no sympathy for the loss that they all feel.

If you have a problem with what happened, address the Mears/Farmer family directly. It is they who need to speak about the actions that happened. It is they that need to be held responsible.

The members of CGT are victims as well, but in a different way. Bro. Mears is dead and it is the members of CGT that are left to clean up the mess that he and his family left behind. It is they who are having to explain to their children why people like YOU are anonymously bashing the church they have grown in and forcing them to pay for the mistakes of one man and his family.

Again, I believe it is absolutely disgusting what Paul and Carlos did, and they need to be held responsible. The church itself is not guilty.

Thank you all though for making my life an absolute hell. Thank you Paul, thank you Carlos, thank you biased media, thank you News Channel Five, and thank you anonymous posters for causing my entire family to be split in half and forcing me to cut myself off from my friends at that church in fear of being categorized as a supporter of molestation ALL because of what one perverted old man chose to do to his own grandchildren. I hope you sleep well at night and take pleasure in our suffering over this entire situation. Thank you oh so much.

To Christain Gospel Temple: Ask yourselves; do you believe Steve Farmer's statements? Please do not sit on your pews Wed, Fri, Sunday day and Sunday night waiting on him to tell you your next move in Christ. Your salvation is in the blood of Christ not the blood that will be on the hands of Steve.

So why did someone marry into the family that was sexually abusing them? Did you ever stop to think about that. One of these woman claim the sexual abuse then married the same man.
I was one of the women in the news cast. My abuser was Carlos Cruz and I have never been married to him. Cheryl, Crystal and Lynette are the 3 other women that have filed lawsuits an their abuser Paul Mears is their grandfather, they never married him either. I am not sure who you have spoken to but you got some bad information.

My sister has some of her facts way off. Carlos was not 16 and he was not from another country. They had a cousin come over from another country years after I was abused and he was sent back after an arrest. Carlos is still living in CA. Also, there were a lot more children who were abused in that Church. We weren't all abused by Paul Mears. This isn't a Mears/Farmer family matter, this is a CGT matter and a GAC matter.

There may be some good hearted people in that Church but they are not innocent. They have known about this for well over 2 years. We gave the leadership plenty of time to just do what was right by us and they have chosen not. Steve Farmer showed that tonight when he lied on the air. Instead of placing the blame on the media or victims you all who go to CGT need to turn to the pastor and hold him accountable. Yes, the pastor may be related to Cheryl, Crystal and Lynette but he is still the pastor just like Cornelius was the pastor. This isn't about making CGT pay for what a dead man did. This is about getting the truth out about the abuse and about letting you know that it didn't die when Cornelius did. Steve Farmer is just as guilty. The question is, were we sexually abused by either leadership in the Church or members, the answer is yes. The question is, did the leadership know about the abuse and do nothing about it, yes. The people sitting in that Church knew what was coming if the right thing wasn't done. I also want to point something out. Over the last 2 years whenever I spoke about my abuse and the abuse of others I was told by members of that Church, inlcuding a trustee that if what I was saying was true then I needed to take them to court. They as much dared us to. So if any members of CGT want to be angry be angry that we had no other choice but to sue. But also take responsibility for your choice to stay under such leadership.

I have known two of these three women personally and they have been a part of my life since I was a baby. They are my freinds, my family, and were my mentors in my life when I needed it the most.
I have seen the effect on their lives that this Church has created. And not only on their lives, but the lives of hundreds of families. Families that were destroyed, ripped apart, and mentally disrupted.
These women have the strength and courage to take on anything in this world. Everyday life is hard enough, let alone the battles they have had to face in their lives.
You know, people persecute them, call them liars, attention whores, mentally unstable and for what? To gain respect of a false idol, respect from fellow church folk, fear of losing the only thing they have ever know because of a lifetime of manipulation. It's ignorant. No one in their right mind would ask for this. Live the life they have lived. I think that this church has lost sight of humanity, their duty to be a civil human being, to do the right thing when it needs to be done.
This church has been hiding it's secrets for way too long, and it is about time that the people stand up for what it is right, and I give these women my complete and unconditional respect. Not because I am bias, but because courage, strength, and nobility have guided them their whole lives to this moment, and throughout the past decades they are the first to stand up for what they believe in, they have faced the world and said "No Bitch, not anymore".
I love you.

I am so glad to see all of the support in these comments. These girls are not lying. And it took a tremendous amount of courage for them to take this stand. You have no idea the resistance and the pressure against them. They will be vilified and objectified by this church as attacking and persecuting God's people. That's how it works.

Anybody who comes on here and says this is a load of crap and they are lying has an agenda; they are simply trying to protect the image of this church, just like the leaders have always done. None of these victims married into the family that abused them. I have no idea what the comment was intended to suggest.

It's too late to do damage control, Steve. The opportunities for acknowledgment of wrong and repentance has been arrogantly rejected by you repeatedly. I cannot believe your statement to the press about not believing these allegations are true or correct. Once again, it sounded like a carefully crafted and legally scripted response. You acknowledged these abuses in a meeting that was recorded and viewed by many almost four years ago. July of 2004, I believe. You know these allegations are true. And so do your members.

If those same members can hear these girls tell what was done to them in their own words and still support Steve Farmer's ministry, I will not believe it. That is a choice. That is not persecution.

Jennifer, Cheryl, Crystal and Lynette, many, many people know you are telling the truth and we support you. Not only are you telling the truth, we all know there are many more victims who do not have your courage to come forward. I can count off the top of my head at least thirty girls I personally know of who have told me of their own abuse. Not every case was reported to the pastor, but the majority were.

Correction, Carlos may hav been fom another country (i don't know) but he has been in the United States most of his life, but regardless of that I am not sure what that has to do with him molesting me or what him being there for 3 years prior to molesting me had to do with that either. It is still just as wrong for the Church to cover up my sexual abuse. Being born in the states or not doesn't change what happened.

Well spoken. I also attended CGT for many years. I know of 2 other sexual abuse cases in the church and nothing was ever done to help the victims. One family was highly regarded (not a Mears) and therefore the crime, yes crime was overlooked. My childhood friends suffered just as our four brave women have.
I commend you all for standing up for what is right. Please know that you are in our prayers, you are loved and you deserve to have the truth be told.

Jennifer wasnt Carols 17? He and Paul should be cell mates in a california pen. But this isnt a CGT issue. Where you abused by everyone there? Why did they not mention Paul was pastoring in Pheonix when the abuse to them accured? Shouldn't all of your parents went to the police? Would you call your pastor if someone was breaking in to your house? No you call the stinking cops. Why isn't Carlos being sued? You have the right and the need for justice to be done, but you need to go after the right people. Since CJ Mears is dead though you want to go after his church that he hasn't pastored in several years. You dont make sense.

Hmmmmm, you are demonstrating your blind loyalty to this church by attacking the victims and claiming no responsibility for CGT in protecting kids. Keep in mind that the same pastor who did not share with his own extended family that his brother molested his daughter aggressively stopped people in the church from attending baseball games because it was such a major sin.

I can't believe people who have been there for years can defend this and want to belittle the victims. Does your heart not condemn you for denying the truth?

Paul was in Phoenix when he abused Lynette. I believe he abused Cheryl and Crystal in Chino.

I am still floored by the amount of kids still present in the church, and I believe I have a right to say this, if any of you know who I am, you know my brother.

As a parent, you should be afraid of molestation and sexual abuse. In this day and age we have organizations against sexual predators worldwide, we have complete websites dedicated to locating the whereabouts and current information of child sexual predators. And the fact that these people know that they are sitting on a pew where a sexual predator has sat, or use the same bathroom that a sexual predator has pissed, or put their children in a sunday school/daycare under the same roof as these sexual pedophiles, let alone follow the word of God behind a man who protects these sexual predators is beyond anything i can comprehend. It is ridiculous. Completely fucking ridiculous.

What is wrong with some of you? This isn't about Andrew, this isn't about who I am or am not sueing. This is about the fact that children were sexualy abused and nobody protected us. You all know nothing about what I have or have not done where Carlos is concerened. Instead of asking me why something wasn't done to Carlos, ask my mother or ask Steve Farmer. When I spoke to Steve about my abuse he compared it to a man having an affair wih a women.

I don't remember the people from CGT being upsett when the Catholic Church was sued for this very same thing. It is clear who the CGT members are on this board. My purpose has always been to expose CGT for the abusive cult that it is. Had I not sued then we wouldn't be on the channel 5 webiste talking about it. Maybe just maybe the next time someone is abused in that Church they will go to the police.
