Helping those out on the streets this winter

I’m writing this because a friend of mine is doing some good work in Eugene. Her name is Jane Elliott, and she’s doing what she can to buy sleeping bags and winter socks for the homeless population of Eugene. According to her figures, the nightly overflow from the homeless shelters in Eugene stands at around a thousand — a thousand people with nowhere to go. Besides being a hellish way to spend a night (I know, having spent a few nights on the street myself in my younger days), that’s obviously a potentially lethal situation for people who have no way to stay warm.
Christmas is coming, and these days, we folk have to hang together, whether we’re lucky enough to have homes are not. All of the money goes straight to the homeless,$45 for a bag and $15 for a pair of wool socks, to be distributed through the shelters there. What do you say? Chip in if you can, share this link on Facebook, pass it around, tell your friends. Let's do something great this Christmas.
I’m honored to be Jane’s friend, and she could really use your help. Thanks for your time.
All the best,
