Does anyone know the Statute Of Limitation for Rape/Sexual Assault in Ohio? I have a friend who was Sexually Assaulted by her former husband and did not file charges at that time.
She is now having flashbacks of the event and exibiting signs of PTSD. I am of the belief that charging him with the offense may be helpful to her recovery. Possibly a Civil Suit? He lives in Springfield, she lives in Dayton area, although the Offense took place in Fairborn, OH.
She has his admission to the assault recorded on cell phone and he has also admitted guilt to several other persons, including their divorce lawyer.

From what I could find, she had one (1) year to file a claim. Childhood sexual assault can go back as far as twelve (12) years in Ohio.

From what I found, it is 20 years in the state of Ohio, for the criminal case, and 12 years for civil suit. The criminal statute of limitations is listed here:

Does anyone know what the statue of limitation is for filing a civil suit for emotional distress? Seven years ago I was a victim of public slander and harassment on a university campus by an ex boyfriend. My ex published slanderous lies in a local paper and I have just now within the last year, year and a half been fully diagnosed with PTSD as a result of both incidents which has left me unable to work.
