I mean you act like they stick you over and over again on purpose. I'm sure if they wanted to spend the entire time in your room sticking you they would right? Give them a break they are one of the busiest ED around and take into consideration that you are not the only patients in there, now there isn't any excuse for people to be rude but put yourself into their shoes and think about everything they deal with as a whole. Some people can be so inconsiderate and only think of themselves. I have always had wonderful experiences at SRMC and appreciate the work these nurses and doctors have to do and thank them for even being their when I need them. Thank you so much SRMC.

The funny thing is people are always quick to say I go here or ill go there because there better or more knowledgeable, quit making the treats and go. The hospital will go on with out you and you know what people have the same complaints about them hospitals too. So let get real bc if you were there 8 hrs then you should have not been there at all. Hell in that time you could of had your kid at the doctor by then so wake up and quit blaming the hospital for your stupidity.

If it's after doctor's hours you have no choice but to go to the er. I've been there and waited 8 hours, 3 different times. They are rude and allowed my suicidal son to walk right out. When I yelled he was leaving, the 6-8 nurses never even looked up from there paperwork. My husband was very ill last week and I took him to Troy hospital, I said if we go to Springfield you'll die. You must be a hospital employee, even Troy hospital workers say they have heard how bad Springfield is. By the way Troy was busy too but we were in and out in 3 hours. And they were all nice from the front desk up to the doctor.

To be honest I'm a hospital employee from another hospital in Dayton that people come to but I've seen it on both sides and ER get busy and all over America ER are busy but there is a process that the staff is trained on to say if someone is sick or not sick. People are seen in the nature of their illness. If I'm sick and choose to go to the ER for my illness then I want them to take the time it is needed to take care of me. Test do take time to run and sometimes test that are done my trigger for another to be done. So it may just take that time for them to find out what's wrong. So next time your waiting to be seen think in your head that the doctor maybe taking care of someone even sicker then you are at that current moment and if that was your family member you would want them to be there for you. I'm sorry to hear that your son was having issues and just walked out but do you just expect a nurse to jump and run and tackle your son when he is leaving? I mean some effort is to stop them but there is only so much staff can do. I really defend ER nurses and doctors bc I've seen it and lived it and its something people can not judge on until you have done it yourself. I have had family come there and they have saved their life. I respect what you say but give them a chance and know what they deal with is hard. I do agree no one shouldn't be treated rudely and I know all hospitals need improvement in this area but I know there are wonderful nurses and doctors in this hospital that deserve credit for their hard work and dedication.

No i am saying we waited 8 hours in the lobby as did tons of others, the whole place was ticked off. And they should have had him in the locked room or had him guarded. They have special rooms for that, I didn't expect them to tackle him. But they didn't call for help and there were 2 police there I talked to them. We were ignored, they never acknowledged we were yelling, period.
And it's the whole hospital, when my mom was there I had to go spend the night when after 3 hours asking for water no one could be bothered. maybe some are good but few are. They have lost one whole family of customers, not taking another chance.

I have a relative that cleans at Springfield, and she is always commenting on how lazy the staff is. Her boss is always asking her to go and clean up behind people who aren't cleaning their rooms properly instead of taking the initiative to make the person do their job properly. If they aren't doing it right, someone else out there will. I don't care who their parents are, make them do their job or fire them.

She also has patients ask her all the time to get them a nurse because they don't respond to the "call" button, and when she does go to find one, they are always sitting around drinking coffee. I used to work with a girl that went to nursing school here in Springfield, and she thought it was funny that they allowed so many online courses because her and her friends would just sit in a circle with their books while they took turns doing the tests online so that they didn't have to study. It's scary to think of who is going to be taking care of you when you're ill. Will it be someone who actually put forth the effort to learn? Or will you get stuck with one of these "easy way out" kids that everybody is producing these days?

It's just not what it used to be. You used to become a nurse or doctor because you felt a need to help people, now it's just looked at as a field in which a person can make a decent living. So sad.
