Family of Newark man disputes state's account of arrest

Dana Garcia, 24, of Newark, said the state's account of what happened to her 25-year-old brother, Kenwin Garcia, after his arrest last week is not consistent with his character or his injuries.

I didn't know Kenwin at all but this tragic situation touched me so deeply to the core, I can't even drive on 287 anymore without thinking about it.
My heart goes out to his family. All I can think about is injustice..I thought we all were given
those human basic rights, our civil rights.
Everyone I talked to, who heard about this story was deeply
saddened also. You have the love and support of the community.
