$68,800 as Chief of a cow township to answer dog calls! Disband the department and let State Police take over. It would avoid all the small cow town politics. MOOO

For the area as large as Springfield Twsp, Needed are more than 3 police and now with out a chief
For the amount of taxes paid to this township, there surely is a lack of co-operation from the the so called leaders. roads are not well kept, no gutters for drainage, weeds not cut, and now lack of protection in any shape or form, when calling a policeman, you are lucky they respond in a timely fashion because of the great amount of area they cover. I myself have called and left a message and never had anyone respond to it. In the years living in this township, I had to call the state police
on one occassion and that took almost an hour for one to get to our home. Neither our township police nor our state police are well staffed for the area. As far as the chief being let go with pay,
the residents of this township need to know why this person was taken off his position, I do respect Mr. Bell's quote, he was a very good chief police and had his men working; but I feel the public has a right to know. Personal to me would mean health issues.

If you think that some lone officer is going to be your Knight to save you then you are mistaken. If you want safety in your home its up to you and not someone who has to think 3 times before making a decision to do something because he is worried that some looser township leader is going to throw him under the bus. MOOOOOO!

Just yesterday morning, there were no Springfield Cops at the accident @ slifer valley and 212. Everything was handled by the State Police. I don't think Springfield should have a PD.

I would agree that the twp. needs more than (3) officers...on the taxes we pay only 3% of your total taxes go to the twp....the lions share go to the school district...on the roads you gotta be talking about the state roads, which are terrible and lastly I believe the proper phrase is personnel issues not personal ...duh

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize that Springfield cops work 9 to 5. I just thought they would be first to respond since they were right around the corner. My bad.

I agree, and people want them to enforce speed on Slifer Valley and Bursonville. They can even make it to an accident seen around the corner.

I live in Springfield Township, and honestly I do not feel safe, none the less, if anything were to happen, whos there to protect us. I think Springfield township needs more than 3 officers. Bring back Officer Bell, he was the only good thing about our township.
