I live near old wire and my grandmother reported seeing a soldier walk down her hallway to her bedroom door, look to the left and disappear. She said she saw him on numerous occasions. I now live in her house and we often hear a door open that hasn't and other odd events. Last week my husband was in our baby's room holding her hand until she feel asleep, he said he heard me enter the room and turn on the nightlight...when he got up I wasn't there but the light was on and his side of the covers were turned down ...when he thanked me I told him it wasn't me, I had been with our toddler in his bed and had not gotten up until just then. On another occasion I was alone and heard someone in the hallway area, I called my husband and let our Mastif in the house, the dog stood between me and the area I heard the noise until my husband came home. All doors were locked and no one was in the house. Our toddler will not allow his door to be open at night (he has my grandmas old room) and says often he is scared, the other night he looked over my shoulder and said "no, you go. Go!" When I asked him if he wanted me to go he said "mommy stay, he go!"
There is nothing proven here, just little things that make you wonder. I prefer to think we are just silly and grandma's ghost stories have made us jumpy over nothing...or else we have to move! ;)
Interesting story! With your experience's, no harm has come to you, and no harm will come to you. Relax and enjoy the experience's.

Your experiences would scare me,glad everybody is okay.It puts me in mind of Sharyn McCrumb's ballad novel Ghost Riders. She writes wonderful stories based on her appalachian background and her ancestors'experiences.A character in all the ballad novels is Nora Bonesteel who lives on top of a mountain ,is a very old herbal healer who has lots of life experience and many stories. If you love our Ozark's heritage you will enjoy the ballad novels(available at the library). In Ghost Riders she addresses Civil war reenactments and sightings at those sites and makes an interesting correlation which makes for a great story.

I mentioned Coast to Coast AM. I love the show, but can't stay awake most of the time.

I went on youtube and found a few folks that are archiving shows.

I listened to one from two nights ago about Planet X. It was great without the commercial interuptions.

Here is a link to a show about hauntings in America.
You can go forward to the point where the part about hauntings starts. Usually the main subject begins at the second hour. You'll get the hang of it. The first hour is about the Lone Wolf Terrorist.

Try both, one should work. If there's a problem please let us know we'll figure something out.

I think some of these shows would be good reference for our discussions here. And they are fun to listen to while you work on your computer.

If you're not a C2C fan yet, maybe now soon you will be.

On my computer it takes over the page I'm on. You can click on it and it will go away. All or nothing.

Looks like the best bet is to copy and paste this address in a NEW TAB. Then you can bookmark the youtube page and update the bookmark as needed.

Note that you can mark the time on the bar if you want to call attention to a certain part like 38:45 where the hauntings part begins, for example.
If you want to call our attention to a show on youtube, we can navigate the web with the address like I did here or search Youtube with the title

Has anyone seen the new movie 'Paranoram Activity 4?' We saw it and it is very good. Leaves you on the edge of your chair. Of course, it is a Hollywood movie, with all the extra haunting glamor to keep you thrilled.

Here is a list of all the paranormal societies in Missouri. Note that there are several in Springfield.

I think that Just Me has a little problem from what she told us, and it's ongoing. I am looking for a page I once visited which describes the various types of hauntings and offers suggestions as to how to address them. Some can be very nasty and dangerous. Some are like living with an invisible room mate. Sometimes the ghost doesn't seem to be aware of your presence, and sometimes they are aware of you. We had one in our house in Springfield sure enough. I'll have to tell THAT story soon. I'll keep looking and post a link here soon I hope.

I am fascinated by ghost stories. Mine seem silly when I share them but a little creepier when I read them! But really I am not concerned with our house guest, I guess we are probably the guests, because there has never been anything that felt negative...uncomfortable yes, but not threatening. I think my toddler isn't a fan of our guest but sometimes he seems to talk to it and then cracks up, so it's not all bad. He is a special needs child and I think he is more open then the rest of us.
I'm going to check out the Ghost Rider book, sounds interesting. As well as the other links posted.

When I was in grade school I lived across the street from where I am now. My parents set up a reel to reel on the dining room table one night before we all went to bed (my grandmother had reported seeing a womanly figure in the laundry room who vanished when she approached her). When we listened in the morning there were hours of silence, then banging of pots and pans with cabinets being slammed repeatedly. Noone heard anything during the night and the kitchen was next to my parents bedroom. Then all the noise on the recorder stopped and you heard a male whisper "oh no" and then just silence. I always thought my parents were pulling a trick on us, but to this day my mother swears it was real.

They have a nice informative site where you might find out about your type of haunting. Maybe they can help.
I wonder if the repeating soldier apparition, and what your child might be seeing are the same entity.
We had something in our house with us in Springfield, so I have no doubt of your sincerity concerning your visitor. I hope your family can coexist with it safely.
It doesn't sound ALL bad...

I am a little concerned when ,during investigations, and otherwise, people talk to the entities or apparitions.Sharyn McCrumb has Nora Bonesteel say she will NOT talk to dead people.Could just be literary licence or apppalachian folklore,of course. If I ever saw or heard something I would get away in a great big hurry.

Your best bet might be to contact Ozarks Paranormal. There may be contact info for them on the MO paranormal societies page, also.

Well, I sure got that wrong. They aren't on that list of Missouri Paranormal societies.

I must have found them on a google search for "types of hauntings" or "types of ghosts."
Sorry about THAT.

10four, in 2006 the parking garage was scanned for a burial location by a man named Rick Norland using ground-penetrating Radar with a viewing monitor. He was working with a local lady named Kathee Baird who had been investigating the disappearance for a few years.

Norland was recommended by Coring and cutting group, Nixa Missouri. The name of his business is Construction Solutions, Kansas.

This was videotaped and most of that was Norland pushing his unit around like a lawn mower. He then made a few remarks and answered some questions from Kathee.

There are different little peeks at the monitor in the video and at times there were distinctly visible and various shaped objects, or reflections of objects. In one shot, looking past Norland's forearm, there is a "person-shaped" image that when magnified, looked like a skull, a ribcage, a spinal column, a pelvis and some vertical zig-zag w's and v's suggestive of long leg bones folded up, fetal style?.

In around 2008 there was some discussion about some videotapes being with the remains apparently for blackmail purposes. So I'm looking at the pictures and in that same shot I see an envelope-shaped rectangle and it looks about the size of a VHS tape.

So I googled "VHS tape case" images and got a result from a police equipment catalog that looked just like it, a bullet case as worn on a utility belt.

So I'm looking at the image and the catalogs and next to it is another little square case resembling a latex glove case. Then a belt keeper if memory serves, Then what looked like a handcuff case with either one cuff hanging out, or maybe even a badge, and then a holster, and another belt keeper with rivets. It might be real police equipment, or a costume using toys. We know that a couple of police uniforms went missing from a dry cleaners.blue lights in the grill of a large car, a powerful flashlight, instant "cop."

There are several reflections of objects that look man-made with right angles etc in the pictures that you wouldn't see in nature.
We were just trying to LOCATE the remains, not strive for image quality with that equipment.

One site visitor commented the remains resembled a lanky male rather than a female. That's when I noticed they seemed to be pulled apart and maybe they were in advanced decomposition when buried, and were coming apart from handling. I thought the zig-zags might be a locking cable in a cover for a motorcycle or jet ski used to wrap and transport them..

Here a couple years ago some talk surfaced about some drug boy being dragged to death by a jeep by some bikers.

So I'm looking at the picture and it would seem that the damage to the remains, if that's what they are, is consistent with that kind of abuse. The spine is separated right below the rib cage and the pelvis appears to rotated about 90 degrees as though one leg took the strain alone for a while.

The zig-zags might then be the rope or cable he was dragged with. The demographics of the work force with access to the job site might definitely include a few rough customers.

I remain convinced based on Norland's credentials that that is a human burial. There are three burials there, which surprised him, because he didn't know what case we were looking at until then..

One might be this drug boy. We don't know who the others are.
Seem to be two, small, in one depression together. Maybe a couple girls who were with him when taken by whoever buried them.

Of course they would have had to go too, and might have been forced to ride in the jeep and watch what was happening to the other person.

Paperwork about the pour of that area is missing from the city engineer's office.

You can contact Kathee Baird at

Dogman, Thank you for the imformative post regarding the PG. I have also viewed the close up scan that Norland did. I too see 2 anomolies that appear to be in one grave. My partner and I have taken many pics thruout the years at historical locations, graveyards, and I work hard at trying to debunk what may appear to be something that does not belong in the pics. pertaining to Norlands close up scan, the middle anomoly appears to have facial features of a skull, eye sockets and cheek bones. I can not debunk it....A plastic glove in the grave site? if so, the person responsible may have discarded plastic gloves that were worn during the crime. If it is a plastic glove, it could actually have prints on it. I would only assume that there may be another plastic glove in there with it.....The zig zags that you see may be rope. Hard to say with out the site being excavated.....Possible police or toy equipment being in the grave site? Perhaps there is something more down there. Something or somebody may very well be under that concrete....Hard to imagine that the workers there did not see anything unusual there such as disturbed soil and or 'mounds.' Did the person scatter the extra dirt around to make the area look flat. Did it rain soon after the possible burial erasing any sign of graves, disturbed soil? I can only imagine that he was a shoveling fool! There should have been foot prints in the soil around the possible burial. Did the person use a broom, walk backwards, sweeping away the footprints? Wonder how many days or weeks went by before the concrete was poured? One thing is for certain. The PG should not be a graveyard for a killer. Best regards!

Now that's the first I've ever heard of that.
So...are we talking about a living person....or a ghost?????

So what is the whole story on this person?
