Well I just recently moved to the area, and had an experience with both on Weds night when I got off of work!!! I can tell you right now that I would NEVER trust any of them to serve and protect me, nor anyone that I know for that matter!!! We were pulled over for the most bogus reason that I have ever heard of!!!! Driving in the left lane for too long??? It was the middle of the night, I had just got off of work, and we had passed a few cars in the right hand lane!!! There was no traffic..... so what is wrong with this picture?? You can't come up with anything better than that...... maybe you shouldn't be doing anything that requires you to protect and to serve!!!! We were treated like criminals and neither one of us have been in serious trouble. We were shown the highest level of disrespect I have ever seen from law enforcement officials in my life!!! My boyfriend who was the driver of the vehicle, had a misdemeanor warrant for an unpaid ticket!! We had the money to pay the cash bond that would pay the ticket off!!! They towed his truck because I am an unlicensed driver!!! Even though we had 2 licensed drivers on their way to pick me up, and it took them 5 hours to book, and process him for release!!! Almost 3 hours after the bond was paid!!! Not to mention the way that both of us were treated!! When I start driving again, if one of them ever attempts to pull me over, I will refuse to do so until I reach the next county. I don't trust them!!!! First we were told that bond was $100, then $200 cash only, by the time it was all said and done, cash total???$276!!! Five percent of that going to a machine that I fed money into, while an officer sat, watching me, doing absolutely nothing!!! So now we are paying fees to machines do shit as simple as this??? I was in the vehicle still, after my boyfriend had been taken into custody, and told that I needed to be gone by the time the tow truck got there. Even though I was about 5 miles away from home and could reach no one because it was almost 1AM!!! When I asked what I would do if I had not found anyone to get me yet?? I was told that it wasn't the officers problem!! I was between Springfield and republic!!! Hello, freezing cold weather, deserted, dark, highway...... what part of this says "I am here to protect and to serve you??"
We were also told that we would be able to pick his truck up as soon as he was released, and it would be $32!!! That was a straight lie!! The tow driver was on call to pick up vehicles, NOT at the shop...... at HOME!!!!! The total for the tow??$63!!! My boyfriend and I BOTH work VERY hard!!! We were harassed, and treated like shit until 5:30 AM!!! We both had to work Thursday..... and there was no time to get any sleep after having to stay awake and wait to get his truck!! I want to add that when the arresting officer came back to the truck after placing my bf in his car....... he handed me my ID through the open window, but then tossed my bf's insurance and registration into the seat like garbage, and said "here's his stuff"!! I don't understand what purpose this served, and why he could not hand it to me, just as it was handed to him?? This officer was an arrogant asshole, that asked too many questions, and had a snide remark for every answer!! Prying into our personal life, and making comments about alternative ways I should have chosen to get home that night. The other officer was acting like she would like nothing more than for me to try to get confrontational with her, although I wasn't arguing or being rude...... she was being so rude, that her forced offer to take me home "if she had to" would not have happened!! I would have walked, rather than get in the vehicle with her!!! Does anyone else ever notice how thick cops become at the end of each month, trying to fill quota?? I guess trying to push people so that they have a reason to arrest them is not against policy?? I honestly hope that not all of them are this way, but if they are.. how scary

So let me get this straight, you knowingly committed a traffic infraction by DRIVING in the left lane (known as the passing lane) & that's ok with you? People like you who continue to drive in the passing lane really piss me off. In your case, it's a travesty they couldn't increase the monetary value of the citation for your incredible display of utter stupidity & lack of respect!! On top of everything else, your boyfriend had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant & what, you expected to hand the officer money & all is well?? Are you really that daft? I am confident that you displayed utter disrespect & total contempt towards both law enforcement officers & that resulted in their lack of enthusiasm to take you home. Kudos to the SPD!!

Kudos to the Spd!!, really fitting reply from BadA--, location hidden.... Hmmm BadAssshole, or BadActor I must assume from your intelligence and knowledge of the Sit or shituation you know so much of. Haaa, hope all of your ASSumptions are as accurate as your perception of innocence, or disrespect just come normal to give as well in reply or just cover for lies, seems to be common in policy of law enforcement and underneath'ers (desk or truth)in this area. Makes me wonder if there is training for such belittled acts or comments from informants or arrogant putz's that have nothing better to do but judge others and ASSume the position they aren't ever fully up on as far as truth or respect to be a reply worth taking into consideration as a honorable opinion. You are what you are and it is what it is, accept it and save it for something you are educated and witness to knowing more than 5% of before you go about disrespecting someones situation they Were involved in and not spitting words of minimal meaning that you had been taught from being Mr. Springfield in man of the hour forums. Save your integrity you might have earned before and build on it because that little Dr. Phil confidence booster you had to offer was small in notice and big at the mouth, so stretch your advice with lips around your own situation and open your eyes to the shit that you step in yourself and not what your smell from your top lip......Poser! Friend finder on facebook might suggest some more people and situations you know nothing of or never will!! Hobbies are still available but require skill and knowledge of preparation and good with hands on experience. Fyi, Ty for learning Springfield of its quality it has as a fair and helpful citizen that always has solution but never any experience in solving anything!:) Miles of smiles to you sir as you wait impatiently behind me in passing lane. Cry me another brother, wow

People like me piss you off huh?? Well you paid such close attention to my post that you didn't bother to notice any part where I said that my boyfriend was DRIVING??? Yes we were in the left lane, and also if you had paid any attention you would have noticed where I said "we were passing traffic!!!" So yes, it was totally okay with me!!! I am far from stupid sir!! Stupidity is people like you who make assumptions that are unwarranted!! I NEVER not even one time stated that I believed the ticket going unpaid was right!! Yes it was a MISDEMEANOR, not only that but it was a CITY ORDINANCE VIOLATION that went back 5 years!!! The whole thing was about how these officers went above and beyond their authority!! I have and have always had complete and total respect for authority and my elders, and anyone else who treats me the way they wish to be treated!! I complied with EVERY single thing the officers asked of me, and said yes sir, and no ma'am when questioned!! As a matter of fact I even allowed the second officer on the scene to search the vehicle without probable cause to do so!!! How is me cooperating being in any way disrespectful and stupid?? My brother is a retired police officer, so I know first hand what they risk every day in doing their job, so DON'T tell me that I showed contempt or any kind of disrespect!!! I am not a hater of cops!! To say so would be to say that I hate my own family!!! I NEVER claimed that my boyfriend nor I either one are perfect either!! However he is NOT a FELON, and this is the only thing that is on his record, and has EVER been!!! I also am NOT a trouble maker and have had my run ins with law enforcement as a teenager and in my twenties as well!! I have since grown out of this stage!! Apparently that is what happens with age to some of us, but in your case I can see that it's not true with others!! The only thing I can figure is 1. You work with these people, or 2. you are friends with some of them. In which case that would mean you all act this way!! If this was such a MAJOR traffic infraction for which we were stopped in the first place, then tell me something...... Then why do I not see hundreds of people pulled over every single day, with tickets being issued to every one??? Better yet, if it was so major, then where in the hell is my boyfriends ticket??? I will tell you my opinion now, since you got yours, you opinionated asshole!!! My boyfriend left his turn signal on when we passed the last vehicle in the right lane, and noticed it at the stoplight!! In essence, when he shut it off and proceeded straight ahead, it looked as if he was trying to evade the officer by not turning in front of him. So he got behind us, ran the plate, and when the warrant came back he had to make up an EXCUSE for pulling him over!! This was the 26th of February... so guess what?? The end of the month means last minute sweeps to fill quota... PERIOD!! It was a WEEKDAY, and as many people as I saw pulled over that night.... you would have thought it was Labor Day weekend!! Also, I NEVER one time asked for the second officer on duty to give me a ride ANYWHERE, so her comment about HAVING to give me a ride was nothing more than arrogance!! I work hard every day sir, and I also pay my own way in this world!! When my ID was ran, I do believe that it came back clean, so there was NO reason for the confrontational demeanor that this officer displayed toward me. My boyfriend was also VERY respectful, and didn't argue or put up a fight!! People like you are part of the problem here!! Its people like you that believe just because someone carries a weapon and a badge, they have the right to treat people the way they chose!! I have always had nothing but respect for authority but WILL NOT bough down to belittlement just because some people believe that if you are out this late, then you must be committing a criminal act!! I pay my taxes, and am not a slacker, and will not agree with being treated as such!! Thanks

Your one sentence sums it up. He should have paid that ticket fine 5 years ago and it would not have a came haunting him. Bottom line is there was a warrant. End of story.

Quit your bellyaching & get over it. Directly or indirectly, you're at fault. Not everyone is going to be all pleasant & sweet to you. That's just a fact of life. What crybabies we have here.

Yep it was my fault!!! I got off of work, and was on my way home, Geez.... I notice that someone such as yourself BadA.. must not get out very often since you have so much time to bad mouth other people and tell them what horrible people they are. The fact of the matter is that it had nothing to do with the warrant!! People like you make me sick!! You can sit and type shit about what you think you know, but in reality your just a lazy, unemployed, slob that sits at home in his beanbag chair, playing on the internet!!! I suppose you wouldn't know anything about the outside world!! Your opinions and comments don't mean dick to me, and your buddy 10four jumping in just shows that you leave your comments just to piss people off and get a rise out of them!!! Directly, or indirectly you know absolutely nothing, and your a waste of space!!! End of story!!

Bottom line is if your bf took care of the ticket he wouldn't have had a warrant and gone to jail. You can't expect to break the law and not be inconvienced when it catches up to you.
I'm sorry you feel you weren't treated with the respect you are entitled to.
Ps if this was last night you might keep in mind there was a missing baby girl, so I'm sure they were pulling over anyone that gave then cause to.

Yes, you were at fault & got caught. It happens to the best of us, but we don't go crying about it on a public forum & when someone disagrees with you, you resort to name calling & attacking them. Shame on you. You don't know anything about me, yet you presume I'm an asshole, unemployed & lazy. Grow up!! END OF STORY!

Regardless, you should have had your bf pay his ticket so he didn't go to jail.

On the other hand officers in this town are way to gung ho about the way they treat misdemeanor offenders. It's a lack of proper funding to give the officers sufficient training to know how to act to private citizens along with them also thinking just because the government wants us to live in a socialist country, they can treat us the same way...

Here's an exert directly from the declaration of independence:

No was last week......
Yes I do believe that I was treated unfairly, never once said that I believed that my boyfriend was in the right. He got arrested because he broke the law. However..... that does not entitle the police to act as if I did something wrong. Yes I can see them having their suspicions, but once my name came back with no priors, and they saw that I was not a threat, then they could have acted less threatening. That is all that I am saying.

I have been with my bf for a couple of months. The ticket goes back 5 years. I would have actually helped pay the ticket had I known what was going on. If I could have done anything to change and avoid the situation from that night I would have.

Yes you are correct!! I actually was not the one that started with the name calling. You called me stupid because I had nothing to do with the warrant, and was not the driver, and my name came back clear, yet I was still treated like shit, and was upset about it!!! So NO SIR, I am NOT the one that needs to grow up here!!! You posted on this and started throwing out unfair insinuations and stating that I was at fault!! I was not even with my bf when he got the original ticket that he had the warrant for!!! So go elsewhere to state your opinions!! Not SHAME on me!! I am not ashamed of anything that I said!!!

And now that you have told the whole story for all to hear, even though your boyfriend kept driving in the passing lane and had a warrant. You can bet your little @zz at least one cop has read this and they know exactly what, when and who you both are and you will hear from them again in the future even if they pull you and your boyfriend over to say hello and check you again. You see when you have no way of putting out a fire, don't start one. lol

Well as long as we now know forums know all because they are at desks like kohl 10 news, keeping everyone on track and talking smack, nothing better or more inviting than opinions. Just like assholes everyone got one and it piles up to....funny how subject of matter was forgotten. If ya got noise to spread, make sure ya stick to subject, that was whole point of this subject. Just like most, focus on making a name in a drama forum and no effort in details.....lil things get the answers not the one that's makin the noise and no sense....waste of time, no asset to waste mine. I will say hello right back!!:)
WOW..... I guess you got me there!!
If they check me, they will be wasting they're time again... so I invite them to do what they gotta do!! I am not scared of the police, I have no reason to be. AGAIN.... You are staying right on track about the point!! The point WAS NOT the passing lane, or the fact that there was a warrant!! The point was, that it was understood why the arrest was made, and did not argue why we were stopped either!!! THE POINT WAS, that there was NO REASON for the officers to act like we were escaped felons!! I put this post here to get intelligent feedback from the public, not to be attacked by people that do nothing but find posts to hate!! The ticket is taken care of, and that is that!! If the police wanna harass me so be it. I have never been afraid to speak my opinion!! Hell, if they want.... they can come knock on my door!! They can sit across from my place of employment, or my home and set up camera's and high tech sound equipment if that is what floats their boat. If they have nothing better to do than harass someone that has their own opinions, then I say GO FOR IT!! I have news for them... there are people that say a whole hell of a lot worse!! I said it before, I DON'T break the law, so it doesn't matter what they use as an excuse to approach me, I will cooperate fully!! My post was not meant as a gateway for attack on my character or my bf's character!! The post itself summed it all up, so I will not explain or defend myself any further for a couple of jerks that think that they have all the answers!! Its all quite simple.... why do some law enforcement feel it necessary to throw around their authority and act as though they are tough guys and we are beneath them?? If you wanna say I was whining, crying, bellyaching, bitching, lying, or whatever...... its fine!! You can throw stones at me, blame me, and call me stupid, disrespectful and ignorant or whatever. I was not breaking the law... and that's final!!! You and your friends have strayed so far off the subject that this has become a pointless waste of time!!

I concur with what you wrote in the first part of your comment & will add that you're absolutely correct. However, it's not your job to monitor the flow of traffic on or off the expressway. Your behavior is just as dangerous as those who speed. We'll take care of the speeders, don't you worry about that. Please be better than them & obey ALL the traffic laws. Again, it is illegal to DRIVE in the passing lane.

That's actually really funny that you would say that, because if you paid any attention to the Newspapers.... you would see the drastic change in arrests, tickets, and notices to appear, and convictions closer to the end, rather than the first, and middle parts of the month!! Also, the FACT is that for every federal conviction in the state of MO that is passed down, law enforcement, and other state funded organizations receive $25,000 dollars in funding!!! As far as you stating that you block passing lanes....... that is more dangerous than speeding!! You think bragging about that makes you cool?? People like you are the ones that cause pileups each year!! Also again..... another person that was not paying attention to the point!! You drive in the passing lane at 74??? In town Springfield..... really?? Yeah, don't think that going 74 down sunshine would be wise.... but its okay, your above the law!! Also, apparently you didn't see where I stated that my brother is a retired POLICE OFFICER!!! I DO KNOW my FACTS!!! Law enforcement, as well as courts have SEVERAL quota's that they are required to fill each month!!! Of course you would NOT think that it was a fact, instead you believe that it is myth because its NOT something that they are going to divulge to the public!!! I said that they are rude...... NOT complete idiots!!! LMAO That is how each city, county, and state agency keep their jobs!! That's cute that you would think that it wasn't true just because that is what you heard!! Do you believe in the Easter Bunny, and Santa Claus still as well?? WOW, I am so glad that you chose to throw your two cents in too for your buddies..... This was fun!!:)
