What are the top wages at these companies for the typical blue collar production worker?

People do not know your answer because most of the ones who participate on this forum are those who do not want to work nor care to.

When I was up north near the auto plants, everyone knew that that's where the money was and the job to get. Down here, other than BNSF, people are clueless.

The jobs paying high dollars continue to disappear, there are not that many any more without education or skills in certain jobs. In spite of what is reported, less jobs now available for all.

Even with a so-called education jobs don't pay good. Spend $50,000 or so for a piece of paper to maybe make $30,000 a year. Racket!

Yes top pay is about $22.00 but we do work a lot of overtime, like it or not.

I got paid more in jobs that I could have gotten without any college than I did as a special education teacher after college. A lot of the manufacturing places you mentioned have very few actual employees of the companies anymore. I worked at several of those places through several temp type agencies in the area and I found at many of the major manufacturing places its hard to get hired on... more temps than anything. Going through one of the temp places might be a good way to get noticed and maybe hired or get experience... For 3M... go through Manpower. Reckitt/Frenches go through Penmac (once in awhile they have had manpower people in when I worked there but mostly penmac). SOmeone I worked with at Reckitt had worked at the kraft part at the underground (not the plant) and they went there through an agency called peoplelink but that was years ago. One of my friends got a position at Viatech through Express Personel and later hired on. I know someone else who went to FOcus Workforce or whatever its called on Norton Road and they went to places like Buckhorn and such (in the industrial park east across from Reckitt), If you cant just hire on one of these places try one of the area temp places but the pay is not that great through a temp but you might get to hire on.

Reckitt (the warehouse) is 7,50 or 7.75 through penmac depending on shift... 3rd shift was canceled... it was 8 dollars an hour... You get 1.50 more if you get promoted to lead. Frenches (the reckitt) plant pays slightly hire per hour through penman,

Manpower pays a little hire. I have heard that they have a standard to not pay less than 8,50 or 9 dollars an hour for industrial type work, If you go to 3m at nights its 9,50ish an hour (thats what my friend gets paid there) and its on going work like I had a Reckitt.

Through temp agencies you might not get paid much and there may be no raises and you wont necessarily get hired on. Its better than nothing if you are out of work.. you get some experience and maybe get noticed as you try to apply to get hired on. Also while you are there you often hear when openings are coming up and such. If nothing else its more experience to put on a resume if you dont have any,

My friend was told that he could get 18 dollars an hour starting on at 3m if he get hired on.

ALso figure in that there may be opportunity (or forced) overtime which you will get time and a half for those hours of course, You may have to work on holidays and such.

Also through a temp agency you will have to find out if you will get benefits and what they are and such... some offer some and some do not... sometimes it depends on where you are placed. Also some jobs are1 day jobs and some are ongoing.... There were people at Recktt when I worked there that had been there years through Penmac.... I was there for a year and half through penmac as I was looking for another job and such.. It was better than nothing. It took care of a gap I would have had on my work history also.

A lot to think about
