It has come to my attention that this so called business has bad business habits. From what I am aware they will hire just about anybody without any sort of back ground check, drug screen, or reference check and simply put them on the phones trying to get people interested in going to school, who are mostly looking for work, and have no interest in going to school.

If you for any reason have issues with doing the job assigned and tell them so, they will fire you and say that you've quit.

This is a bad company to work for and I would suggest steering clear of them within any means necessary.

I currently work there, and they just don't hire anybody. Yeah they may not do a background check, drug screen, or even a reference check. If you have nothing to hide why in the world are you complaining about it. They also don't just throw people on the phones. You go throw a week long training program, and it you don't do well then they will coach you more. Yeah they have you call people for school, but most of the people are looking for schools. If you have not even tried to work there or even went in for a interview don't complain about something you haven't tried

I have worked there in admin before and have first hand understanding of the hiring process.
You go on the phones the first day, fact.
They don't hire people who look too disheveled or smell and that's about it, fact.
There were people there who were clearly high on meth and continued to work there for months because people on meth are motivated more than people who are not, fact.
BUT, This is all just how telemarketing is.
I will say tho, I think the reason they fire people so quickly is because, at least at the time I was there, I heard rumor that they got a bonus from the government for hiring people who had been unemployed for six months or more. Course this could have just been gossip. I don't know if there was a rule about keeping them for a certain time to be able to claim this bonus, so this is just speculation.
They ARE predatory and anyone who has ever worked there would agree with this even while being a loyal employee.
But find me companies that aren't putting themselves first these days.

If you get caught talking about company your fired. Huey they is very good agent and helps people has no clue about the system we work with he sits on his ass and plays on Craigslist all day ling its a freaking joke their. Id had worked there for a bit and let go due asking for support and full training instead of one non paid day of training and good luck with full support on system use you learn it yourself on the floor and they don't give you full details on job duties id know to many people that has tried to work there and it's the same bs everytime and id put a google review up and that is seen when someone looks up the address for google maps and not a good review and the BBB gave them a F on there score because of the online reviews and also if your looking for call center work there is a lot better companies out there that gives the full support and professional work environment. I'm only putting this up here to keep good people from getting into a bad choice and but also hopefully the owner see's these reviews and learns from the and either make and bold professional change to his company and right now its a very unprofessional place to put in. Note on the history of this company its changed names before due bad company habits

I had an interview with these people today. The interview lasted all of 5 minutes. Was told that it would not be a good fit for me, an that I should get a job in the field I am going to school for. So I guess the don't hire just about anyone. I was told to dress in business casual attire, and walking in the employees all had on jeans and tshirts. The lady who interviewed me had serious meth mouth. She looked like she hasn't been to a dentist ever. And as I was getting in my car to leave she was standing outside smoking. I guess I interrupted her smoke break time. I thought this was supposed to be a place that tries to get people to return to school. So maybe they should start hiring people that actually are in school, not drug addicts.

First off, this is the telemarketing industry where high turnover is the norm. Call centers in general don't have the luxury of being too picky because of the nature of the business. In my experience here, the people who don't last are the least intelligent people who expect to find a job where they don't have to work. They just want to renew their unemployment eligibility. When an employer actually requires them to take the responsibility upon themselves to learn and apply what they are taught, they throw a fit and post negative reviews with poor grammar on public sites. Of all of their employees, about 1/4 of them have been there for at least a year and the majority of those people have actually been there for over 2 years. If it's such an awful place to be, how can this many people stay for so long and find success within the company? People need to take more responsibility for themselves and stop complaining about what everybody else is doing.

Some of this is true. Some not. This is the 1st time I have done telemarketing. I am learning. There are very nice people who work here. You get 1 unpaid day of training. They are demanding but need to be to make money. I don't like that hang up calls are counted against you. I don't see this lasting long. I can not meet the goals because they are upped daily. I was misled...I do have to sell people on talking to schools. I am not actually getting them enrolled. I am usually sending them to talk to someone else or to receive text messages, emails and phone calls from up to 3 different schools. Most of the people I talk to are not interested, they need a job not another bill. It's not a hard job physically but emotionally (if you have a heart) it is exhausting. Most of these people have been without a job for more than a couple of months. My job has been threatened on several occasions...I think this is a tactic to make me try harder. I give them 100% everyday. Every call is not a sale. I don't care how long you have been doing it... so I wish they would stop saying they could have done this or that. I have heard every boss that has worked with me fail. That's one of the things they need to work on. I was told you have to be good at being a liar to work in telemarketing......I have not lied.....maybe that's why I'm not good at this.

There are many better places to work in the phone industry, not necessarily gonna say that there's a glorious totally awesome phone job that's not going to make you feel like shit at least every so often, but there's more then a few better places out there. I've heard that there is a decent turn over at teletech, but that could be do to the company only giving performance based incentives and otherwise generally capping their employees at I believe it's $10.00. They will train you for 3-5 weeks depending on the project your assigned but if you miss too many training hours or even a single day, so much for your job.

I worked there for three nights. I knew something wasn't right from the get go. Their practices seemed shady. They quickly fired 75% of the people who started with me. They constantly yelled at people. They basically make you want to quit so that they don't have to pay. I agreed to the contract that stated that I would not get paid if I quit before two weeks. No problem. I didn't get paid. I have no issue with it. What I do have an issue with is getting a W2 for wages I supposedly earned. They never paid me. So, I ask this question. Where did those funds go?

Based on what I am reading here they have some bad hiring and termination practices. However, I do disagree with what you said here "There were people there who were clearly high on meth and continued to work there for months because people on meth are motivated more than people who are not, fact." Surely you don't think this.

I also would recommend Teletech. TMobile is a good choice if you have any customer service experience at all (they pay decent and have good benefits. They do a background check but it doesn't exclude you from working there if you have some things in your background unless they are really recent and violent.)

They will not hire you at teletech if you have any drug related felonies even if they're pending, however if you manage to get them removed from you record, and you fit the bill otherwise, go for it.

When I read these posts, my tendency is to assume that its at least partially an issue with the employee and they are blaming the employer for everything. But my son started working there and the stories he tells me makes me think the management has multiple personalities. One week saying that you are management material and a top producer, next week yelling at you and threatening your job. Even calling one kid a loser for being stuck in a dead end call center job that he himself manages. And I've been in sales nearly 30 yrs. so I get some of that. But these guys sound a little over the top. How do you get numbers up while firing your trained producers and having to constantly train, hire and fire.

You guys are all idiots who are hating on sunrise media. It's not my fault you guys could fulfill the job requirements and I'm sure there is more than what you guys are saying. I wouldn't recommend sunrise media to all my friends and its a great place to work because not like other telemarketing companies where all you do is get there credit card or trying to rip people of, you actually could make a difference everyday you call these prospective students because in today's job market education is everything and experience is nothing. I absolutely love working at sunrise and I'm glad I actually get to impact people's life:)
