What is going on at O & S Trucking? They used to be the best when I was in Springfield. I sure hope everything works out.

they just very recently went bankrupt. the ex springfield mayor that owns o&s, made some very bad decisions just like he was doing for springfield as the mayor before he resigned. dont really see how anythings going to work out for him now. yellow and roadway merged and now they are almost history. the prime di*k*eads will rule the roost here now. estes is at yellows old terminal. most of the other outfits that are still around and are doing fairly ok.(transland, rbx, christensen, saia, iwx and a few more). o&s will probably get sucked into the prime black hole.

O&S assets are only worth $50,000 and their liabilities were close to 50,000,000. Sounds just like what he was doing for Springfield as the mayor. Prime will take over I'm sure. They are the Walmart of the trucking industry.

10-4. Sure hate that for the drivers. Kinda makes me glad I'm too old to roll anymore. Is Rick Johnson still running things there, whatever is left to run I guess I should say.

A guy from Prime says they use a gas card that allows them to only pay 1 cent a gallon for fuel . I somwhat have mixed feelings .

Yes, Rick Johnson owns T-Haul Tank Lines (formally T-Haul Transport) now. And from what I hear, they are doing pretty good.

And if you go on the Missouri Courts web site it shows that O&S is suing Rick Johnson/T-haul as well as several others.

What is he getting sued over? How can they afford to sue when they just filed bankruptcy?

All it shows right now on the court documents is "cc other tort". It does not give any other information yet. Filed on 5/29 and summons were issued on 6/1 and 6/6.

thats too funny. the owner has to take the heat. suing rick johnson only further shows that the owner was neglecting to see whatever he's suing over.

Sounds a bit like Mr. O'Neal is bitter because Rick Johnson left there and is doing well, while he let O & S go down the tubes.

I work for O&S and as per usual no one has any facts right..including Jim's record as mayor..Springfield was borrowing from Peter to pay Paul so they could fund the police n firefighters fund..mayor after mayor continued the same money shuffle that was coming to a train wreck..Under Jim's watch he supported a smart move to raise taxes for the city to afford it..and now Springfield is better off for it..He also didn't take credit for it, he applauded and credited the person who's idea it was..The position of Mayor is an unpaid job..He truly did his best for the city and made strides in the right direction..He resigned as he said..to turn his attention to his "family and business".. The company took a hit in 2010 from the economy, like all midsize companies, all were in jeporady and just a few ill timed circumstances could wipe any one of them out..Ours was one of the ones that it happened to..Jim took full responsibility for it to us, for not being at the helm..I will continue to drive for them because I respect the honesty and integrity from the top on down..
O&S does not pay only a penny per gallon to prime..that's a ridiculous statement..They get Prime's price for fuel, which is a huge savings tho..
Prime gets some xtra revenue from freight we pull and we lose some baggage overhead..
As far as rick goes..just watch how it plays out..if you think he was always fair with you, you may have second thoughts and see where he wasn't, when this is open to the public..I wil say I would never work for someone like him..period..I don't need to add why..You will see it soon enough in the court details..
We dont have Prime on our doors and dont believe we will, as per the agreement between the two companies..We do pull thier trailers now as ours are being phased out..In 3 to 5 years, is the hope that all will be back to normal..
Dont kno if the true facts will influence the misguided and preconcieved comments I've read above..but it really doesn't matter..i just think its a shame that ppl are so quick to jump up and feed off the rumor mill..rather than use common sense about things they hear..

To Panama.... I am going to assume that you have not switched over from mileage pay to percentage pay yet otherwise you would be thinking very different thoughts on the whole situation. Mr. O'Neal says one thing and does something totally different behind your back when you aren't looking.
Freight went down considerably since O&S got into bed with Prime. Hence the 40 plus drivers that have left since the start of the bankruptcy. Most if not all of them were ex prime drivers or part of a company that is in bed with prime. Rates for freight are horrible. Its pretty sad when you can make more money running the mileage freight than you can percentage.$1.15 pm plus having to pay tolls on an 1100 mile run doesn't cut it.
Fuel savings are nice if you utilize the prime system. Problem is so many loads you cant get as much fuel on there, meaning you essentially loose the fuel discount.
I can say one nice change was the OD driving scenario. You can now have an mt trailer with you as long as you are in no way dispatched. Unlike before prime.

I LOVE truck drivers. The more the merrier I say. When I can, I hang out down at the flying J around the CB display. You can't miss me, I'm the feller with the bad haircut, lipstick, eye shadow and flowered skirt on.

Sincerely,

Brandon Stayce the drag/drama queen.

I will take Panama's word.

You just sound like a lazy driver who tries to point blame at everyone but his/HERself, polarbearexpress. Go back to your trucker's forum where all the drivers get together to bitch and moan about how EVERY company out there "screwed them over", as they hop to 20 jobs in 4 years.

I know nothing about MR. O'Neal or O & S, but I had the pleasure of working with Rick Johnson at T-Haul Tank Lines. I found him to be honest and an excellent business man. Maybe Mr. O'Neal is just unhappy because Rick has moved onward and upward and he apparently has not. It is terrible that so many people feel they have to spite others in the world to feel better.
