One thing that we all have to remember here is that people of all shades and stripes do bad things. White,brown,black,asian,native american, everyone. Instead of cutting people up over the actions of a few, dammit, let us all try to pull together. Most of the hispanic people that I have met in my life are decent, hard working, proud people who take care of their families. Gangs have always been a part of the fabric of american life. Irish, Italian, jewish, russian,african american,caucasian, and on and on. There are bad actors of every stripe. And most immigrants were pissed on when they first got here. Newspapers sensationalize the bad to sell copy, that is a fact. When I was in Vietnam there was a navy hospital corpsman from ponce' puerto rico who saved the life of three very badly wounded marines under very heavy fire from nva regulars in the weeds about 8 klicks from camp carrol and was hit three times in the process. I'm proud to say that I would stand side by side with any puerto rican person anywhere and be proud to call them my friend. We all cried the same tears and bled the same blood over there my friends. Something to think about the next time that hateful thoughts cross from your mind to the written word. I saw what hate was When I was 19 years old so long ago and I tell you it is not pretty and I would not wish it on any one, ever. Peace.
