Leverett fiber network headed for FAILURE

Leverett has embarked on an expensive fiberoptic network project. 90% of 39% of Leverett residents have approved he fiber project and the town is borrowing $3,400,000 to install townwide fiber.

Monticello Minnesota did the same thing and once installed the existing ISPs simply lowered their rates and the cost competition overcame any advantages held by fiber.

At this time Monticello is using the profit from their municipal booze store to pay for the fiber network AND the towns bond rateing has been lowered because they defaulted on their bond payments.

Leverett MAY BE on a similar track..
