Springfield will stay the way it is. The same few people that have had influence over the years aren't gonna loosen their control.

What Springfield doesn't need is John Haydon. He's a dirty stain on our beautiful town - we should run his ass off before he screws anyone else out of their hard earned money.

Springfield might benefit from an entreprenuer opening a walk-in abortion clinic. Over 4,000 women each day in the USA choose to have their soon-to-be-born babies killed rather than bringing them to term. Surely, some of that demand exists in Springfield and the surrounding communities.

Agree with ABC. If you want to do something besides going to dinner you have to go out of town for sure. But then again, will it draw enough folks to keep it open? Lets volt in the Alcohol in the county then there will be more areas to add facilities as what ABC suggested. BTW there are several slips to sign to get Alcohol volted in throughout town. I think? Parkview Home center has one. But dont hold me to it.

My opinion, Springfield needs a facelift. From every direction into Springfield you have the perfect Kentucky scenery of rolling hills and farmland. One afternoon, just drive into Springfield from the new Danville highway. The farmland is so beautiful. It's that way from every direction! Then you come into Sprinfield to see what? Run down old warehouses and weeds grown up everywhere. Take a trip down main street. Powerlines going every direction, run down buildings and parking lots. Drive through Bardstown and make a comparison. There is sooo much that could be done to make this town more attractive. A more attractive town may bring in more attactive business. Just a thought.

We need to compliment the positive things that are going on now downtown. Mordecai's and Cecconis and the Opera House do bring in alot of out-of-towners. Nancy's Place and Oh La La Boutique also have shoppers looking for unique items and home decor. Springfield is slowly becoming a destination for more than some people realize. You only have to go downtown and look at the cars along Main Street daily and nightly to see many guests here. Small towns can not compete with the big box stores but businesses can focus on unique items that you can't get ten miles away. A small antique shop may work well or an upscale juried consignment store. Those niches are still wide open and can be successful. A small grocery downtown could work with our aging population or a KY Proud market, featuring local and ky products. Later hours to accomodate locals, restaurant and theatre patrons may also work for businesses.

Do Springfield a huge favor and don't ever come back. Better yet, leave the state forever and park your embarrassment attitude next to a garbage dumpster where you and it belong. If you talked to the police like you vented here I would be very disappointed if you weren't arrested. You really sound like a road rage immature brat. Scary to think you get behind a wheel.
Childrens resale

I am in the works of opening a Children's resale here in Springfield. We are actually having a sale coming next month to get the name out and test the waters here in Springfield. We don't have anything like it here and being a mother of 4 I know how quickly our children outgrow their new clothing or equipment.(carseats, walkers, excersaucers etc)
I know we have a walmart, freds, dollar general and family doller here in town or close BUT their sellection on clothing and their prices are just too much for items that wont be used much. Why not have a place that when your done you can get money right then and there for your unused stuff and then while there buy gently used items for your children.
I support the consignment stores for other stuff but children's items just either are priced WAY high for being used items. I don't want to go to a consignment store and buy a used onsie for the price of going to walmart for a new one!
I actually think it will fill the need for families in our area!

Children's clothing on a consignment/resale basis is a SUPER idea!!!! Just make sure it's juried and take the better items. This could work very well for our community. The higher end items are what people are looking for at a bargain and if it's clean and attractive (items and the store), it will work great. I applaud you and will be a shopper too!!!!

And, to those negative posters, I've lived other places and this town is something to be proud of....neat and clean and personable and I applaud its leaders too b/c I've lived in other states/communites and know what Springfield has going on is something to brag about!
