Church grant lawsuit OKd

A Sangamon County judge on Friday gave a critic of using state money for religious purposes permission to proceed with a lawsuit aimed at blocking a $1 million state grant for Pilgrim Baptist Church in Chicago.

So let me get this right -- the suit can proceed, and if Sherman wins, it will mean the money can't go to the church. However, since Blago isn't part of the lawsuit, he can go ahead and write the check in the meantime.

how is it that blago gets a legal pass on this? his name is quite publicly all over it.

i don't have a problem with the state assisting in rebuilding a historic venue. sherman should be pointing his legal guns at chandra gill's group, the other million dollar winner here.
