When you've completely run out intellectual ammunition the last refuge of defense is to resort to ad hominem attacks on your opposition. You don't have any logical or defensible positions left so just call them "doo-doo heads" as opposed to saying anything useful at all.

While the formal definition can be seen above, some great examples are given below:

BENEFITS YOU WILL GET!!! lol YOU don't support. YOU don't give. YOU don't protect. YOU don't provide. YOU TAKE! However, you accuse conservatives of being takers. Now, THAT'S IRONY."
I gotta admit - it's kinda fun when the Ol Boy does his personal attacks - nothing proves the truth of an assertion or fact more than a personal attack in response. I just wish he could be a little more creative and entertaining way of doing it.

I did not do all I could to push back against Reagan/Bush/Cheney and the NeoCons bankrupting America and killing thousands of Marines to make profits and get Bush re-elected - I enjoy the personal attacks when I speak up against lunacy - it means I am having an effect on any rational reader.

More importantly:

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men should do nothing.” Attributed to Edmund Burke.

It really is tough on the Right Wingers who post here.

All the facts and rationality is against their positions. At some level, have to understand that the multi-billionaires really have nothing but contempt for the working American, but they are so insecure that modifying their positions to incorporate reality threatens the hell out of them.

The Right Wingers have benefitted tremendously for the social programs they profess to despise and, unless you're brain dead, you understand that the more affluent you are, the more you benefit from the society that allows you to obtain and maintain your wealth. That's why bribes .... er .... campaign contributions are so happily made.

Additionally, each day readers get to experience the psychological theory of "Cognitive Dissonance" is played out here.

An example:

President Bush is personal friends and business partners with the bin Laden family; allows a disastrous attack on the United States in 2001 that killed 3,000 Americans; an attack planned and paid for by a member of that bin Laden family; an attack we still have not completely recovered from; then got us into the Iraq war, that had nothing to do with 09-11; wars we still have not paid for nor entirely extricated ourselves from; and he’s golden?

But four people get killed because Republicans in Congress cut funding for embassy security and Obama should be impeached?

Cognitive Dissonance -

It's interesting and entertaining. O

Right Wingers love to pretend their is a magical "invisible hand" guiding the "Free Market" - but neither has ever existed, or will exist.
When it's time to restock my cupboard with peanut butter, I much prefer the free market approach of visiting each vendor's facility and evaluating for myself their processing procedures. Business is too over-regulated, and as a True Freedom Loving American I Thank God I can spend all of my time inspecting the farms, processing plants, transportation and storage facilites that provide the items on my weekly grocery list.

An informed consumer is the real invisible hand driving the market.

Course anyone who has looked at the history of America's long experiment with unregulated free markets will know the end result of that stacked deck.

Surprised it took this long. Probably has happened too many others. They are just to embarrassed to tell.
Wonder what GM did with all the bail out money they got? Ohh I know the labor unions.
Let's see:

The government buys stock in GM and:

Jobs are protected and created,
The economy improves,
The Bush Recession is halted,
The Bush Deficit is cut in half,
Billions in social spending for unemployment, Medicaid, and FHA mortgages is saved.

Sounds like a smart deal to many of us.

From the NY Times:

... In Wentzville, a city of 30,000 people west of St. Louis, production of full-size vans at the General Motors plant had dwindled to a single shift by 2009. But last November, G.M. announced a $380 million expansion, and broke ground in May on a 500,000-square-foot plant where it will manufacture its midsize Colorado pickup. G.M. expects to employ over 3,000 workers there when the expansion is complete.

The automaker announced in August that it would build the next generation of its popular Chevrolet Cruze compact in Lordstown, a town of 4,000 people southeast of Cleveland. G.M. said it would spend $220 million to upgrade the plant and pledged to at least maintain the 4,500 jobs now there.

I spoke this week with residents of both towns, and no one disputed that, from their perspective, the G.M. rescue has been a success.

“G.M. has been the catalyst for everything,” Wentzville’s mayor, Nick Guccione, told me.“They’ve already hired about 700 people, and they’re talking about bringing in over a thousand new jobs. And these are real jobs, with real wages. G.M. has brought in 1,300 construction workers for the new plant. We’re told that for every job they bring in, that creates five more jobs. It’s made Wentzville a more vibrant community. People can work, play, spend, shop.”

By many measures, Wentzville is thriving. In the two decades before 2010, the city’s population grew to 29,100, from 5,000, making it Missouri’s fastest-growing city, according to the city Web site. Mr. Guccione estimated that the current population was over 30,000 and said that per capita income and sales tax receipts had risen steadily despite the recession. A Sam’s Club will be the country’s largest when it opens in October, the mayor said. Voters approved a tax increase to pay for three new parks, and one of them, a large aquatic center, is scheduled to open next year.

Like the mayor, Mr. Thieman attributes much of the town’s success to G.M.’s survival.“G.M. has been very active working with small businesses in the local area. I sell them flooring for their offices. They support the restaurants and local home-and-farm supply stores. We’re lucky we had G.M. They kept people working here and the cash flowing. We’ve been fortunate.”

Mayor Hill said the area had been through hard times, but “G.M. has helped us overcome this, and I do think we’re looking up. We just opened up a big McDonald’s and Chipotle Mexican Grill warehouse.

Technically, G.M. doesn’t owe the government money. It paid back its loans in full and the government took an equity stake in return for the rest of its money.

CEOs average $12.3 million in 2012, 354 times the average worker
by Laura Clawson
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/04/15/1201...

The AFL-CIO is out with its Executive Paywatch. Here's how some of the numbers break down:

In 2012, CEOs of S&P 500 Index companies averaged $12.3 million in total compensation, while rank-and-file worker wages averaged $34,645, for a ratio of 354 to one.

CEO pay fell five percent from 2011 to 2012, but that's mostly because of Apple CEO Tim Cook. The stock he got in 2011 vests over 10 years, but was counted all at once, skewing 2011 CEO pay data. If you take Cook out, average CEO pay increased five percent in 2012.

In Germany, the CEO-to-worker pay ratio is a relatively modest 147 to one. Workers make more—$40,223—and CEOs make less—$5,912,781. In Canada, it's 206 to one. In Sweden, Australia, Japan, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom, and other countries, the ratio is below 100 to one.
The comparisons with other nations and with our own past are a powerful reminder that how things are in this country right now is not how things have to be to have a healthy economy. The growing inequality in the United States that goes beyond a few CEOs isn't good for our economy or our politics. But when you consider that 354 to one ratio, you understand the power that's lined up against changing things for the better.

According to the left wing media, MOST of the citizens did NOT WANT Obamacare, but it was passed anyway. HOW do you know MOST want ANYTHING????? You referenced a report from 2009. Just curious. How exactuly do you think "control" of ANYTHING is going to stop it from happening? Do you honestly think that if someone wants something bad enough, they won't be able to get it? SERIOUSLY? Explain that. It's nothing more than lip service and sucking up and playing into the government NEEDY liberals. You can't control yourselves, so you need the government to do it. And it won't change anything except CONTROL law abiding citizens who probably don't even need control. So, explain how you and your fellow lib's ideas of control will control the criminals. I can't wait! While you are at it, are you going to jump on the bandwagon for KNIFE CONTROL now? Don't tell ME that I'M the problem with the republican party. If you're so smart, why aren't YOU running for office?????? YOU are the NUT.
I read just a short way into your idiotic rant and found all I needed to know. I can control myself very well thank you, it’s the crack head down the road that is the problem. He also believes he has complete control, as do you. I really badly want YOU to go away and let common sense prevail, you won't go away, kills your theory. The rest of your control theory is crazy, do you really believe that it’s a wasted effort to try to control criminals!?!?!?! You have found the key to saving money on local, state and federal government spending, do away with ALL law enforcement, its all waste. Just proving my statement that you are a nut and the reason the Republican Party in imploding!!

You might find it interesting that your President Bush did put controls on knives, can't board an airplane with one. It was just a common sense solution to a problem. Like background checks and controls on rapid fire weapons of mass destruction are common sense solutions to a problem.
Common sense is an acquired trait, you should work on it.

Ex-UGA Coach Charged In Ponzi Scheme
AP, Posted: 4/16/13 10:42 PM
ATLANTA -- Former University of Georgia football coach Jim Donnan and a business partner face charges that they operated a Ponzi scheme, according to federal indictment unsealed Tuesday.
The grand jury last week returned the 85-count indictment against Donnan and Gregory L. Crabtree of Proctorville, Ohio. The charges include conspiracy, mail fraud and wire fraud, among others.
The indictment says the pair ran the scheme through GLC Limited, Inc., a West Virginia-based company that dealt in closeout merchandise.
Investors generally weren't given much information about the deals but threw their money in because they trusted Donnan.
Donnan and Crabtree routinely lied to investors about the nature of the business, the indictment says.
GLC had little income other than the investments, so money from new investors was continually needed to pay expenses, to pay Crabtree and Donnan and "to perpetuate the scheme by paying what was falsely represented to investors as being a return on their investment from sales," the indictment says.
Between September 2007 and October 2010, the pair raised more than $81 million from 94 investors.
The indictment identifies investors only by their initials. But the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission last year filed a complaint against Donnan and others, saying the ex-coach used his influence to get high-profile college coaches and former players to invest $80 million into a Ponzi scheme. That case is still pending in federal court in Atlanta.
The individual losses ranged from a few thousand dollars to about $4 million, an SEC official said last year.
Donnan was head football coach at Marshall University from 1990 through 1995 and at the University of Georgia from 1996 through 2000 and later became an ESPN analyst.
Among the coaches Donnan helped attract were Texas State football coach Dennis Franchione; Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer; ex-Dallas Cowboys coach Barry Switzer and University of Cincinnati football coach Tommy Tuberville.
In February 2011, the restructuring officer had GLC file a voluntary bankruptcy petition.
Donnan and his wife also filed for bankruptcy, and creditors claimed the Donnans owed them more than $40 million. A federal judge in Georgia approved a settlement in the case last July.
Snoozefest. It must be Wednesday. Another boring post from the admitted liberal socialist commie.
