"...is it possible that a fire-breathing animal really existed? Today some scientists are saying yes. They have found large chambers in certain dinosaur skulls... The large skull chambers could have contained special chemical-producing glands. When the animal forced the chemicals out of its mouth or nose, these substances may have combined and produced fire and smoke... Dinosaurs and humans were definitely on earth at the same time and may have even lived side by side within the past few thousand years."
That quote is from the Bob Jones University Press biology textbook Life Science 3rd. Edition (2007). Used widely in Christian schools.
That text book is full of similar crap. That is what this
school board wants to teach....creationist crap.
Down in Kentucky you have a creationist museum
that advertises itself with fire breathing dragons on
their billboards. 26 million plus was spent building
this "museum". In reality, an outdoor toilet could of
held their entire documentation they rely on to
support creationism beliefs...not evidence. Just a few
pages from Genesis.

So I suppose you believe the "wall of separation" isn't a bunch of horse #### conjured up by socialists and liberals while sitting around on their duff pulling in govt dole?

QUOTE: Handed a tabula rasa by a public uneducated in civics, right-wing revisionists are free to ignore not only the strong anticlerical views of so many of the nation's first leaders but also their loathing of all entanglements between religion and government. "Oh! Lord!" Adams complained in 1817 to his old friend and rival Jefferson. "Do you think that a Protestant Popedom is annihilated in America? Do you recollect, or have you ever attended to the ecclesiastical Strifes in Maryland, Pensilvania, New York, and every part of New England? What a mercy it is that these People cannot whip and crop, and pillory and roast, as yet in the U.S.! If they could they would."
If they could they would. Wherever and whenever they could, they didand that is why the revolutionary generation bequeathed the unique gift of a secular Constitution to future Americans.
Charley Horse checkup...God is not mentioned in the
US Constitution. The USA was the first secular government
in the world.
I know Washingtion, Jefferson, Madison and all the other
framers of the US Constitution were not doing as you think...

Gail Dauber, Director of Social Studies in Springboro High School, is not mentioned in the
US Constitution, either. So why does Gail Dauber project to Springboro parents and school district voters that she has the "constitutional" right to teach the constitution "her way" and that neither the curriculum director nor the board representatives (who are elected to represent a diverse community of voters) should have any input on what Gail Dauber wants to teach OUR students about the constitution.
Springboro parents and taxpaying homeowners pay for the services of our school staff, and should have a "voice" in the curriculum being taught.

Considering that this school board's president is
a radical far right politician who wants to promote
HER agenda and use public school teachers to indoctrinate,
proselytize and not enlighten, then that is what is likely
bothering Mrs. Dauber if you're correctly quoting her.
If you have a source for your supposedly quotes that I can read it would be helpful.
Are you implying that Mrs. Dauber is not following
the state guidelines? Using material that has not been

Silly Science Responses are just that!
May God Bless America and the Wisdom of Our Founding Fathers!
Regardless of individual "opinions" can't we all agree that it is our United States Constitution First Amendment Rights of free speech that allows all citizens (including those SHS students whose "critical thinking skills development" is being held hostage under Gail Dauber's tunnel vision of OEA Indoctrination) to freely discuss differing opinions on ALL controversial topics including:
religon when not used in a historical or factual context, sex education, legalization of drugs, evolution/creation, pro-life/abortion, contraception/abstinence, conservatism/liberalism, politics, gun rights, global warming and climate change, UN Agenda 21 and sustainable development and any other opic on which opposing points of view have been promulaged by responsible opinion and/or likely to arouse both support and opposition in the community.

Charley Horse, Are you a Springboro School district resident?
Why the false accusation ..."Considering that this school board's president is a radical far right politician who wants to promote
HER agenda and use public school teachers to indoctrinate,
proselytize and not enlighten..."
Your false accusation is offensive toward our school board president, since this board members was elected in 2009 by the majority of Springboro parents and taxpaying homeowners, who are just as educated as our school board president in doing the right thing for our school children and our community as a whole. Because it is difficult for those of us who are residents; and have been attending the school board policy committee meetings and regular school board meetings (which are open to the public and to which Gail Dauber was given opportunity to speak about board policy) to try to "fill in the gaps of knowledge" that you seem not to know about our current discussion of controversial issues.
You can learn more at the Springboro Schools website and the posting of the Board of Education meetings minutes.
From my point of view, This discussion blog is just posting opinions of what Springboro residents see first hand at committee meetings and school board meetings; but not subject to "proving" anything to fellow bloggers.
My own opinion is in agreement with LET FREEDOM RING!

Hey Charley Horse in Humbolt TN .... LET FREEDOM RING in Kentucky!
Different Strokes for Different Folks, But All Across America, All People Just Want Be FREE from Attacks on Our U.S. Constitutional Rights to Be FREE!
Why try draining the Family FUN out of the museum in Kentucky?
My kindergarten kid and I enjoyed an outing to the museum and had a wonderful adventure, as a result of reading to my child (over and over again) a favorite book about a little boy named Dannny and the dinosaur! It was a wonder little affordable "mini-vacation" for our family (with only one day off work at the same time for Mom and Dad) but, memories were made that our family will think on forever....

..unique gift of a secular Constitution to future Americans?
lol Charley Horse of Humbolt TN...
Did you know that Jefferson also wrote extensively on oppression, liberty, revolution and the necessary limits of government....?
I just love the inspiration of these words of Jefferson from "Notes on the State of Virginia(1785):
The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.
In my opinion, Springboro parents and taxpaying homeowners ARE
being "injured" by the "legitimate powers of our local school government" that "picks ALL our pockets" for TAXES to pay our school district teachers to teach our students "critical thinking skills" on ALL controversial issues; that are likely to arouse both support and opposition in the community.
My parents and grandparents always taught me "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" and IF my school tax money is put in the Mouths of Springboro school employees; then MY voice, and the Voice of My Children in public schools must have Representation in the free discussions of controversial issues.

It is proven that Christopher Ritter is severely misled in his tunnel vision view of our school district's success under the leadership of our children first budgeting BOE majority.
The priority of every decision made by our board is in our children's classroom education best interest first (including the board's proposals). Springboro loves our children first!

The Teabaggers are out in force! A small minority
of the most irrational.
They are following the advice of Martin Luther. He
hated reason. Spoke about it often.
"Reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed. Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and understanding, and whatever it sees must be put out of sight and ... know nothing but the word of God."
"People gave ear to an upstart astrologer [Copernicus] who strove to show that the earth revolves, not the heavens or the firmament, the sun and the moon. Whoever wishes to appear clever must devise some new system, which of all systems is of course the very best. This fool wishes to reverse the entire science of astronomy; but sacred scripture tells us [Joshua 10:13] that Joshua commanded the sun to stand still, and not the earth."

This place is like Camelot in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Tomorrow the Brooking's Institute will kick off a Metropolitan Revolution with the release of their book and the launch of a coast-to-coast tour showcasing how cities are stepping up in place of state and federal governments. If you believe in smaller government, then join the metropolitan revolution:
