Yeah! A flyer that comes AFTER the election. What is with that. All the finger pointing and lampooning around. Making it look like this town was all because of him. Don't think so!

I wondered how many Springboro city residents voted, noting around 4300 voted for agenbroad. I showed my disdain for him by not voting for him. I would have voted for mickey mouse over him, if only mickey would had run.

BTW, now 5 of the 7 council members include the mayor and his 4 goons. I hope this Ivenson has more steel than the other woman on council.

I did not vote for him either. The mayor has quite a bit of opposition in this town but it's just that running against him would get ugly. He would use all the union tactics spreading rumors and outright lies about the person running against him and attacking their character. It's just not worth it to most people for a part time job.

It is really just a powerless job. All for showmanship. See how well he works on 60558! Who ran against him last time? I thought the guy did a pretty good job. Jim Eyler was the last of the old time mayors with favors. Bob South I thought made a good mayor. I always liked him. Well we could always petition to change the charter to make it so you can only 2 times, and maybe make that retroactive!!!!

A quick tally of votes shows a little over 6900 people voted! About a 1/3 of us didn't vote for him.

There are a lot of people that probably just voted for him since he was unopposed and just voted for anyone. Lets say that 1000 people did just that. So if you look at the 1/3 that did not vote for him and add the 1000 or so that don't really support him but voted for him since his was the only name on the ballot, it would have been a pretty close race. The problem remains however that anyone that runs against him will be subject to the dirty tactics that the teamsters are known for.

I can see it now. I run for Mayor. I am an outstanding member of the community and have impressive credentials. Part of my qualifications are that I graduated with a PhD from Penn State. I'm leading in the polls. A last minute flyer comes out (from an out of state organization) with a grainy black and white photo of me with Joe Paterno in the background. There is another black and white photo of me with a young boy (who happens to be my son) and we are tossing a football around. Caption says something like I am friends with Joe Paterno and I play ball with little boys. I spend the last days of the campaign getting asked if I am a child molester and become the buzz of the town. I lose the election by 100 votes. The mayor sends out a flyer after the election and says he is humbled once again.

Bruce Moore is a double dipper community pastor/city council member.

He is supported quite generously by Springboro families on a "tax exempt" basis of "separation of church and state."

The job that Bruce Moore is paid to do as pastor of the church is to "shepherd" the flock and save the lost; spiritually feeding the minds and souls of the weary; physically feeding the hungry; and clothing the bodies of the poor among the huddled masses.

But Mr. Moore has joined the "tax collectors" of city hall; and become one of our government leaders who project the attitude that only big government spending can meet ALL the needs of the people; and the home and church is simply left behind with only demands to "reset our priorities to meet those of bigger government first."

Appears that in Springboro, instead of food and clothing being provided for needy families by our tax exempt churches because of brotherly love for one another; our city government has some kind of assistance government program headed up by Wendy Ford. Wendy Ford then ties her "services" to the needy in Springboro as a Springboro Schools Administrator on Gene Lolli's staff who earns $60,000 plus benefits; and then hands her "bills" for crisis intervention in our schools back to needy Springboro residents to pay out of our hard earned school tax dollars. Guess you could say that "good ole boys club" is not limited to "just
the boys."

All the more reason for term limits. That would encourage folks to run and not intimidated by "BIG MONEY". Until then, it will be nothing more than passing the torch to another entrenched "good ole boy".

How can term limits be implemented? Can citizens petition the city government for change?

Don't we already have "term limits" in that a politician has to run for re-election at the end of each term? Appears Springboro citizens need to step up and run a winning campaign against the mayor next time around.
