Two tennis courts along Lytle 5 Points Rd in front of Greenleaf / Sycamore Trails CC obviously have not seen much play in the last few years. Why not convert this area into a youth-oriented skate park? How often do we hear about how many kids are out of shape / obese? In my opinion, the area would likely police itself because of it's close proximity to the road. Plenty of taxpayer dollars have already been spent building nice sidewalks along Lytle 5 Points. That being said, it would be logical for Clearcreek township to extend the sidewalk system by building a pedestrian crosswalk at Country Club Dr.

Those aren't public tennis courts - they are owned by the HOA or the country club.

The point is - if the HOA or country club decided to make the area a skate park, it could only be used by the residents of that area, not the general public. It wouldn't be a "public" skate park.

Would you be for a skate park at Sycamore Creek, open to ALL children from the general public, if it were determined that enough public funding is available to build a crosswalk to link into existing sidewalk at Lytle 5 Points Rd & Country Club Ln?

It appears the gate to these tennis courts is broken. I'm guessing this isn't due to an excessive number of tennis matches.

North Park has a skate park? Obviously you haven't been to North Park for quite some time.

What was North Park skate park is now North Park basketball courts. Are you saying foul language & drugs occur in skate parks, but not on basketball courts?

I'm sure City of Springboro Parks Dept. could shine light on the reason(s) why the skate park was transitioned into a basketball court.

Unlike North Park's former skate park which is somewhat isolated, the Sycamore Creek area in question is more self-governing. Why? Better exposure. The existing Sycamore Creek tennis courts are readily visible from traffic passing in both directions on Lytle 5 Points Rd.

No I'm not just facts skateboarders often do drugs and use profanity plus if I'm not mistaken there are some wooded areas all around tennis courts and being in the dip could easily be a danger for the younger kids trying to cross not paying attention and be struck by some yuppie on cell phone. If you want a skate park so bad for your spoiled brat buy some land and build it yourself and save tax payers money!!!!!!

If it's true that skateboarders in fact DO often use drugs and use profanity, then they should fit right in with a lot of the drunk verbally abusive golfers at SCCC.

I don't have kids of the ages that would use a skate park. What I see are 2 tennis courts which absolutely NO ONE has played a game a tennis on for a number of years now. Each spring nets go up. It gets powerwashed. Each fall nets come down. If no one is going to use this tennis faciity, either raze it back to grass & trees, or convert it into something else that's useful.

Would you be for a skate park at Sycamore Creek, open to ALL children from the general public, if it were determined that enough public funding is available to build a crosswalk to link into existing sidewalk at Lytle 5 Points Rd & Country Club Ln?

Tear it down put strip club there so drunks from sccc stop there get horny go home and play the 19th hole. Is the reason you are so into removing tennis courts is that your spouse bounced a few balls there if you know what I mean. Buy it build it they will come but do it yourself and save taxpayers money!!!

Why all the non productive ad hominem attacks ? Why not relay positive input?
So you don't like the skate park idea. Fine.

The fact of the matter is NO ONE plays tennis any longer there. How does maintaining tennis facilities there benefit ANYONE?

Screw strip club hell with a skate park take the nets down put up basketball goals solar powered lights and start a summer youth basketball league there for all ages that would be a much better idea. There is that enough good input for ya. You must admit a lot better idea than yours. No need for a bunch of extra cost to do 4000.00' maybe at most push that idea and may be amazed what may happen.

Still would cost $$ to convert tennis courts to basketball courts. What source do you propose the funding come from? Would these basketball courts be for the entire community to use? Or just for those who live in Greenleaf? Getting back to your original objection regarding drugs / obscenity being tied to skate park users. Perhaps this is true. But I'll bet at any given time on basketball courts you'll see equal amount of drugs and vulgar language.

Why do you care if no one plays on the courts?
Do you live in Green Leaf?

No I dont. Why does that matter? Isnt it OK to express a general idea in order to benefit the overall community? After all, moss and mold are the only things that've been using the SCCC tennis courts for the last few years.
