Our school superintendent is also fond of saying that superintendents who can't pass levies in their school district don't get hired by other school districts and there's a lot of people out there looking to be hired.
Our school superintendent is deeply embedded in the the OSBA philosophy of indoctrination that a school superintendent is really just the Big Chief of Fund Raising and promoting increased taxes as a way of identifying the superintendent as successful. That's the Beliefs and Values in Education embraced by the current SEA union controlled MSA board majority.
That's why Mr. Petrey has hired Mr. Stec to run a wasteful promotion campaign for projected New Taxes needed for employment security and increased wages/compensation benefits packages for Teachers Union members. Keep in mind that the priority agenda of the SEA president is to increase Staff members, Staff Salaries and compensation benefits packages; and keep in mind that the priority of increasing number of Union Teachers is so that the SEA has more union teachers paying Union dues..... the more salary that Maney can manipulate out of our childrens first classroom school tax dollars; equals more dollars paid into local, state, and national dues, then straight into the pockets of politicians of Both political parties. Politicians in Ohio financially benefit greatly from the status quo politics of forced unionism. No matter who gets elected, Taxpayers never get a break!
Stay Alert Voters! Don't let our highly paid fund raising levy promoting school superintendent Todd Petrey break the resolve of Springboro Stakeholders to Vote No on Unnecessary school levy tax increases. Our school district has plenty of money and is now receiving more money from the State than ever before.
Don't let this $5 million DEBT of Todd Petrey's to his district budget committee member for Sure, Todd Smith, enslave our children first and Springboro families with more DEBT to this local school government! Just Say NO to New Taxes!

Did you know that on the ohea.org website that Springboro Education Associationpresident, Scott Maney, brags about the teachers union dues supporting the unnecessary 93% fire levy tax increase last May 2013 on all Springboro families; (and did you know that during that time our school district leaders were saying that our childrens classroom education was at risk due to the unpaid classroom fees totaling over $200,000?)
Here's proof of that truth:
"While the members were gaining strength, the SEA leadership was developing relationships with community groups and organizations. This began with SB5 as SEA partnered with the local firefighters, police officers, and other unions. The SEA was an active supporter of a community fire levy on the ballot in May 2013. SEA members wore 'yes on fire levy' shirts, while firefighters attended SEA bargaining rallies. Community alliances were formed and public union leaders continue to communicate and support one another."
You may have heard it said among some elected officials that "government is not evil."
But what's in a name? It does appear that local government elected officials who join in solidarity to overtax its citizens is just plain evil, even if it does wear the union label of "help us help you."
#31508 Jun 11, 2014
Just an update for you - Scott Maney is no longer with the District - he has been gone since January. You need to update your records/facts, etc.

I wonder what any outside BOE looking to hire a superintendent might think about a certain superintendent who has gone out of his way to crush tremendous progress in transparency, as well as to flagrantly suppress the First Amendent rights of speakers at school board meetings.

What's in a name? No matter who the SEA president is at this time, the game of Big Bully Union Solidarity Against Our Children First is the same.
The battle plan strategy of the Springboro Education Association for SURE that is outlined by Scott Maney on the Ohio E&A website is still Moving Forward under the marching orders of School BoardPresident Charles Anderson and Vice PresidentRon Malone. This website article This Is What Solidarity Looks Like clearly shows that the Teachers Union set out to silence the Voices of Three Board Of Education elected officials by personally demonizing each one's character in efforts to discredit, distort and detract attention away from the AMAZINGLY AWESOME progress being made, doing what's right for our school children and community.
Scott Maney and Ron Malone led the Union Youth Group in a community wide PROTEST against these newly elected board members in March 2012; with students, parents and Teachers lining up in the SHS auditorium in public meeting demanding that these board members leave "education" to the experts. Scott Maney and Ron Malone refused to recognize the constitutional rights of three elected officials to render their rightful service to Springboro Families and community members, with priority of highest individual academic achievement for all students first and fiscal responsibility.
David Baker is no longer Superintendent in our school district, EXCEPT by another name,
So, we all need to know Who is current SEA President, who will be leading attacks against Springboro families demanding MORE next year in teacher contract negotiating than ever before; OR emotionally blackmailing of threats to walk out on Strike against our children's classroom, IF their bully demands are not met in full?

Harmful SEA Bully Tactics for SURE!
SURE was also visible in supporting its teachers. They held several "show red for Ed" days and draped the community with red ribbons on mailboxes, poles, car antennas, etc.
Magnets were made saying 'I Support teachers and staff' and displayed on cars throughout the community. Breakfasts and lunches were provided to the SEA negotiations team by the parents. And their ongoing effort is to unseat this Board in November with a slate of pro education candidates.
Check out the strategy of the "SURE" Forced Unionism Policies upon our school children and community-wide Springboro homeowners, doing what's harmful for our school children, as the Leaning Left voters sweetly surrendered to the Gotcha politics of the Union First Political Strategy AGAINST Our Children First in the November 2013 school board election.
Our School Superintendent has now chosen to ignore the Voices of our TWO children first BOE elected officials; and has yielded control of our multi-million dollar school tax budget and important school district issues (including budget/finance AND board policy) to the insanely popularly elected officials Charles Anderson, Ron Malone, and David Stuckey.
Our School Superintendent has now chosen to join the harmful SEA bully Tactics, harming our children first best interests, by allowing only the Voices of Parents for SURE to be heard in our highly influential district committees of Budget/Finance and Policy/Curriculum school district issues.
Our School Superintendent has now chosen to join the Harmful SEA Bully Tactics for SURE, joining in their ridicule of Springboro families who choose standing strong on Children First principles, doing what's right for our school children and community. Our School Superintendent has now chosen to sweetly surrender our children first best interest of priority of individual highest academic potential and fiscal responsibility, to the collective Renewed status quo failed practices of the past.

Bully bully bully.
Grow up, are you still in 2nd grade? Have you never in your life learned how to deal with people who put forth a better program than you do?
How about giving credit where credit is due?
The union out messaged you, plain and simple. Was the union right, hardly, but the point is more people got their message and their spin than got ours.
Bully? I don't think so.
Quit whining, it makes you seem small and inconsequential.
If you can't stand the heat get out of the fire.
#31513 Jun 12, 2014
What happened here? Did Somebody Miss Their Big Hug Today?
Ever hear of the "patience of Job" as a winning strategy, instead of just "getting out" by sweetly surrendering to union forces?

Your One Voice (One Vote) is Recognized.
But why no respect for others who see differently?
Why do you believe your ONE VOICE is so big in getting out YOUR message, that the ONE VOICE of others "seems small and inconsequential" in comparison?
#31517 Jun 13, 2014
This message is typical of the OhioEandA pro union lobbyists educated with a Masters Degree in Whining for More Money from local school district homeownes; showing No Respect for the people's voice demanding that our local school district leaders listen to the community members Message that our school district leaders are accountable to taxpayers to live within our financial means; and that our local governments should not overtax its citizens.
Jeff Stec's Community Engagement $12,000 contract is part of the state wide OSBA promotion of New School Levies Increased Taxes
being carried out by school superintendent in Springboro Schools.
Don't be deceived by This warm and fuzzy tomato story which is
typical of Jeff Stec's propaganda indoctrination.
This OhioEandA email is typical of the "Masters of Whiners" that sends out this Need for New Money propoganda "Messaging" two or three times a day to school district leaders and pro-union levy activists!
"Results in public education are important; hence, essential learning resources are imperative"
Tony Piehowicz, a retired public school principal and a part time statewide education organization employee, wrote the letter below to The Columbus Dispatch editor published on June 9, 2014.
His perspective will resonate with many in the trenches of public education.
No law can guarantee tomatoes, either
Monday June 9, 2014 6:34 AM
Once upon a time there was a bunch of townsfolk who met and decided that the farmers need to step things up. So they passed a law stating that the farmers would be judged by all their tomato plants producing ripe tomatoes by July 4.
Farmers said: "Wait a minute. What about where the plants and seeds come from? What about weather, rain, sun and types of fertilizers? What about the type of nourishment they received in the different greenhouses before we got them?"
The townsfolk said: "That is your problem. If you don't get every bloom on that plant to produce ripe tomatoes by July 4, we will put you out of business and send the deficient plants back to a greenhouse.
"We will call this the July 4 tomato guarantee."
Sound familiar, educators?
So, the farmers met with the townsfolk and agreed that the goal was a worthy one. But they said they needed help.
"Let's make sure every seedling gets the same kind of nourishment; let's put every seedling in a pre-growth environment so that when they reach our fields, we can ensure success."
The farmers asked the townsfolk to make this law, and to make sure there are funds to help.
But the townsfolk said, "No, we don't care about those things; we just want results."

Just imagine the potential positive differences for our kids that could be achieved if a lot more time is used to positivively vocalize these types of points in the board room vs. the practice of HURLing virtually non-stop, nonsensical, redundant, aimless internet political propoganda.

Lorain County Schools Community Engagement Project: a survey of opinions on charter schools, vouchers and other so-called "reforms"
The school superintendents of Lorain County have set the pace for the public education community in speaking out in regard to the so-called "reforms" that are being imposed on public school districts. Among their many activities is the Lorain County Schools Community Engagement Project-see www.restorelocalcontrol.org website.
The Engagement Project focused on a survey of 620 registered voters in Lorain County. Among the findings are:
1. Biggest problem-school funding
2. Local tax dollars should not go to charter schools
3. Opposition of vouchers to private schools
4. Support for pre-school for low income students
5. The increase in state testing has not helped students
The results of the entire survey can be found on the website.
The rollout of the results took place at a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce.
ESC Superintendent Greg Ring and his colleagues have been meeting in various areas of the state to inform those who are interested in replicating the project.

That's Funny! But Seriously,
I disagree that the "union out messaged you."
Truth Be Told, "the union OUT-WHINED you.
Now, plain and simple, I'm not a two year old; but as a mature grown up, I do know that nothing wears down a grown-ups resolve and patience like the whining of a two year old child.
I saw that put in practice as a two year old threw a hissy fit on the grown up caretaker at the grocery store; the child loudly demanded candy from the many varieties stacked near the check out line; and the embarrassed grown-up's will to keep reasoning was worn down.
Proof for SURE that the Springboro Parent acting like a "two year old" who "WHINES" the loudest and the "LONGEST" wears down the resolve of the school superintendent to do what's right for our school children and community.
Kinda like what's happening in Springboro School District with insanely popular influential "grown-ups" whining like two year olds for more Respect for teachers; translated "Give us more money or we will walk out of our union indoctrinated classrooms and bring harm to your child's future education and loss of value to the homes of Springboro families." But, where's the funny in that?

finding religion? Not In Our Springboro Students Classrooms With A Union Teacher!
Haven't you heard our Springboro Education Association officer Sarah Thornbury testify in the board room that she is a Christian and that Christians should keep their religion behind the closed doors of their churches?
Just imagine the potential positive differences for our kids that could be achieved if All our Professional Educators modeled professional behavior with mutual respect for all Springboro Citizens, modeling Good Citizenship for All school children and community residents, regardless of the individual's Beliefs in Values of Education, Religion, or Politics?
#31522 Jun 13, 2014
Wasn't that lost cause of "finding religion" in the board room disrespectfully hurled at Springboro Board of Education members by one of our own community Pastors, preaching that it would be a sin for Troy Holtrey not to be hired for open employment position, even though Mr. Holtrey had not even applied for the position? here's SEA officer Sarah T when you need her, hurling aimless union political testimonies that Christians (including pastors) should keep their religion in their church? What a waste of time role modeling such disrespect for Authority before our school children and community.
lol...... Where in the world is that SEA officer, Sarah T, when you need her to preach to the Union Choir Masters of Propaganda, that they need to keep their religion at church?
There is no place in our Board Room for local pastors to vocalize this negative role modeling before our school children and community members.
#31523 Jun 13, 2014
Perhaps if you'd shut down that modem & spend a few weeks this summer attaining the G.E.D you've been putting off for years. you'd finallly attain the capacity to grasp the word "religion" from EVERY definition and context.
#31524 Jun 13, 2014
Perhaps if you'd broaden your narrow mind and attain the capacity to grasp the critical thinking skills needed, you'd finally attain the capacity to grasp the truth about your own mindset of having no new ideas at all --and stop just rearranging your prejudices against others who independently think differently from you.
#31525 Jun 14, 2014
It is not Religion that is lost in Springboro, but our Students in public schools with a union classroom teacher who have lost the Amazing opportunity of being taught the original intent of our Great Founding Fathers Constitutional Freedoms, grounded in the Values of the Greatest Story Ever Told throughout the Ages, The Holy Bible. May God Bless America!
