According to the new 2013 ODE High School Report Card, 22% of our high school students scored 65%
or below on the OGT (Ohio Graduation Test) last year.

One in Four of our students fail the State standarized test? How could that be when we are told that 40% of our students are gifted? Someone is dropping the ball big time.

Who is accountable for this poor performance?

Did You Know:

Until the year 2011 (after being under Ron Malone's union shop watch for eleven years)
that One in Four (23%) Springboro High school graduates could not meet the minimum competency requirements to get into Ohio State Colleges?

Did you know that State test results show after 8 years in our district's educational system, only 32% of our children were able to score 75% or better on Ohio Achievement Assessment math tests?

We believe for too long our leadership was not motivated, content with the status quo, leaving too many children underserved. The direction we head now IS sustainable, it creates opportunity, it offers balance, and it states the truth.

Did You know that with our current board's reform minded vision, working as a team with our new school superintendent and school district staff,
that we are on our way to a Brighter future for
our children's 21st century classroom education?

Did You know that the Number of Dual College Credit Classes availabe when Mr.Malone retired

Did You know that the Number of Dual College Credit Classes added AFTER Mr.Malone retired
on June 30, 2013 TOTALS:-6-

We are on our way to a brighter future for our
school children and our community!

Thank You, Dr. Kolhls, Mr. Rigano, Mr. Petroni,
Mr. Miller and Mrs. Kull!

Special Thanks to our school superintendent, Mr.
Petrey, and our school district administrators and entire staff! You Are Appreciated!

...in the direction of Commen Sense

For too long the Springboro district appeared to work very well, but it lacked clear direction. With no plan for textbooks, technology, capital improvements, buses and more, there was no larger course charted for our schools. There was no Common Sense.

Educate Springboro's common sense approach does
not strip the district of its traditions or diversity. It does not ignore its accomplishments and honors, includig "Excellent with Distinction."

It simply gives us a Unifying Direction that extends beyond any individual building or year.

...In the direction of fair!

A year ago, our district faced a sort of "perfect storm" with needs for everything from buses and books to technology and staffing coming to the surface at the same time. Through good management and som good fortune, our once rudderless ship emerged from that storm with clear leadership and direction. Clearly there are still challenges, but we are moving in the direction of putting Children First.

...In the direction of unity

Even after plans to invest millions in technology, curriculum, buildings and buses, and even after providing every employee with raises, we are financially prepared to give something back to the taxpayer -- to give back to our community by reducing their tax burden. The renewal levy on the ballot in November saves taxpayers $6.5 million!

...In the direction of sustainability

We are meeting and exceeding state mandates as well as local expectations. We are building a technology backbone, investing in computers, curriculum, buses and buildings -- we are putting children first. Most important, we are being honest about what is needed through 2017.
This is reform at the local level, and this is working together toward sustainability.

...In the direction of Opportunity

When we combine common sense spending with the
strong performance of our schools, we provide opportunities for everyone -- our students, teachers, families and our community.

From the district's aging computers, buses and buildings to new Common Core curriculum and rising expectations with new stards, testing evaluation systems, the status quo is not equipped to meet the challenges that our school district faces.

Educate Springboro reaches past the status quo.
As we examine district operations and use achievement data, we are creating opportunity, directing more resources to students and more tools to teachers.

...in the direction of Excellence

As the status quo placed awards on the school walls, many assumed that all was well inside those walls. But the awards only measure the PAST, and the STANDARDS are changing. Our schools perform well by the MINIMUM state standards, but the "PROFICIENT" - No Matter How You Slice it --
is FAILING.

FOR EXAMPLE: The PROFICIENT standard for the 8th grade math Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA)
ranges from 35%- 59%. Proficient is not enough!
The status quo has not been enough.

The time is now to bring forward NEW ways of evaluating our children that no longer rely upon
grading on a curve to obtain the desired results.

Tougher, realistic standards upset the status quo, but inflated standards rob our children of true
achievement and potential.

...In the direction of leadership!

If there is a sense of turbulence in our community, it has been manufactured by those who oppose change, wish to suffocate debates they would lose, and return to the days of enless levies, punitive actions against our citizens, and never ending financial emergencies within the district.

We've built a financial foundation on the principle of fiscal responsibility. We'll continue to make changes that make sense; for example, eliminating underutilized courses to fill needs in other areas. We won't continue
relationships with service providers that don't provide the best value just because working with them has been past practice. We'll demand integrity from everyone we work with from
boosters to vendors, from students to administrators.

Common sense, ethics, and sound financial decisions guide Educate Springboro. The fear
of change will not chase our community back into
the darkness of previously failed practices. Let's stay on this new course and move in the direciton of leadership for our children,
schools, and community.

...In the direction of confidence!

As Educate Springboro sought to add its voice to our district's board of education, we campaigned for the confidence for all stakeholders--the
newly married couple in a starter home and farmer in Clearcreek Township; the parents who would
to give everything for their child, and the grandparents who watched their savings evaporate
in the stock market; the employed and unemployed; the alumni and the new resident; and so many others.

With an innovative administration and outstanding central office staff, we are employing efficiency plans. These plans are allowing us to reallocate resources and meet district needs, including an unprecedented investment in technology and curriculum to create a 21st century learning environment for students.

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS, WE HAVE CLEAR
DIRECTION! WHERE TRUST HAS BEEN ERODED,
WE ARE REBUILDING!

...In the direction of trust!

As we seek to build confidence in our schools for everyone, others seek to build mistrust. From the outside, we've been labeled controversial.

Zero-based budgets and efficiency plans are not
controversial.

Updated technology and curriculum are not controversial.

Buses that run and roofs that don't leak are not
controversial.

Putting children first is reasonable, not controversial.

Where the integrity was not maintained from within, it is our right and our duty to rebuild it together. We will continue to work in the direction of confidence to restore integrity and trust in our schools.

Who are they and what are their interests

I know Greg scares children when he does his career day at the High School and his wife works in the district. HMMMMM can you say conflict?

They are using the Sol Alinsky communist rules for radicals techniques. This community needs to know who is the cause of Springboro embarrassment. These 4 are a start.

@Springboro aggitators...

Did you know that most community members do not
know anything about this "internal group of aggitators" that are occupying our board room,
creating manufactured crisis in front of the
TV cameras, spreading F-E-A-R throughout our school community of students, parents, teachers, and administrators AND spewing False Evidence
Appearing Real throughout our community as a whole?

Inquiring minds who are just watching, are asking:

How can this inside group of Springboro aggitators,
who show up at every meeting, get this inside information, then have their own "secret meeting before the public meeting" and pre-arrange,
three minutes at a time, presenting as False Evidence Appearing Real, the union activists "personal agenda" of politics of personal destruction, trying to discredt, distort, and demonize the good leadership of BOE elected
officials, Kelly Kohls, Jim Rigano, and David Petroni, who have a proven record of doing what is right for our school children and our community as a whole?

Inquiring Minds just watching the goings on in our
Board of Education public business meetings are
now asking WHY so much time and attention are given to these "personal complaints" of these
Springboro aggitators in the public business meetings, when it appears that most of these complaints against BOE leadership are nothing
more than personal "gripes" against the Reform
Minded Vision of Our Children's First Budgeting
New Philosphy, which is working in the best interest of our Students First, while maintaining
fiscal integrity.

Why is so much public time and attention given
to these Springboro aggitators, who show up at
every meeting....

NOT TO BE INFORMED ON THE PROGRESS OF OUR CHILDREN'S 21st CENTURY QUALITY CLASSROOM EDUCATION; BUT, INSTEAD, TO INFORM BOE MEMBER,
KELLY KOHLS, JIM RIGANO, DAVID PETRONI, THAT
OUR UNION PRESIDENT WANTS TO INCREASE THE QUANTITY
OF LOW LEVEL CLASSES FOR OUR STUDENTS, SO THAT
INCREASED EMPLOYMENT IS SECURED FOR UNION TEACHERS IN EVERY CLASS ROOM; EVEN THOUGH THERE IS SCANT
DEMAND.

Wow, you're just now starting to do homework? No wonder you didn't understand the vote of the community. While you're at it look up what you can on K/R/P while you're at it. For that matter where's the support for Miller and Kull who want to wait for a Treasurer to be hired or the support for Petroni who wanted the contract re-worked? The contract on the adjenda is the SAME one as last meeting.

When you can't defend the issue, I guess you have to attack the people. That tells alot about what side of the MLA issue to take. MLA has never done this type of work for a school board before. Is it wise to be their test rats?

Greg has a wife that works in the district and that's a conflict? So I guess anyone who doesn't have a spouse that works in the distrcit would have a conflict on the opposite side right?

Speaking at a board meeting (or with your ballots) and voting on award of a contract are two different things. The last state audit we had suggested we include an ethics clause for the BOE (surprise, the suggestion was ignored). COI is something that exists in a business (like the BOE). It's also important to note that a COI doesn't have to always be monetary.

It's like saying that B/V should not have ran for the BOE because if they would have been elected they would have a COI since they have children attending the district schools. Them being on the board would be fine, since they would not be engaging in a contract with their children (and it's undreasonable to have them put their children in another district). In the case of the MLA contract, it may be better to find a more qualified group (like someone who has done this with a school system before) for the job if we do it at all.

Don't be distracted by the evil ones demonizing the tea party rally, which isn't even on the Agenda of tonight's Springboro
Board of Education business meeting and work session.

Check out the www.springboro.org website, click on the Board of Education page, and Study up on the Agenda for tonight's business meeting and work session.

Just ask our Interim Treasurer about Subject 3.4 (as printed on the BOE agenda for tonight)

Subject: 3.4 APPROVAL TO ADVANCE CASH TO ATHLETIC FUND
RECOMMENDED REQUEST:

ADVANCE $250,000 CASH FROM TAXPAYERS GENERAL FUND 001 TO

ATHLETIC FUND 300-903B ACTION.

JUST ASK OUR INTERIM TREASURER IF THERE IS A "CONTRACT"

BETWEEN THE TAXPAYERS and THE ATHLETIC BOOSTERS OFFICERS TO

PAY BACK THIS "CASH ADVANCE" OF TAXPAYERS SCHOOL TAX DOLLARS?

Wake Up People! We need to QUESTION EVERYTHING on the Agenda that goes on in our public board meetings, Instead of DEMONIZING targeted Board Members, including Kelly Kohls, Jim Rigano, and
David Petroni with the OEA War of Words by telling lies and spreading F-E-A-R...False Evidence Appearing Real.

In the Case of the MLA contract, which was questioned and objected to by citizens, including Ron Malone, the BOARD LISTENED TO ALL
COMMENTS, then voted 3-2 AGAINST the contract.

Now what could be more FAIR and BALANCED than that action that was taken by our current board members: Kelly Kohls, Jim Rigano, David Petroni, Don Miller and Wendy Kull?

In the case of the MLA contract, which was objected to by board members, David Petroni, Don Miller, and Wendy Kull, because "this contract was not in the best interest of the school community and the community of taxpayers.

In this case of majority board vote at last meeting, AFTER LISTENING TO THE PEOPLE, the board is now bringing to the meeting on tonight's agenda Subject 8.1 Approval of MLA Management Systems, Inc. Contract (File Attachments on website: MLA Management Systems Contract. pdf 430.KB)

This mean that EVERYONE has opportunity to review this, then
ask QUESTIONS or MAKE COMMENTS ON this AGENDA ITEM.

Using the agenda items of the BOE business meetings to personally attack the personhood, the politics, the religion, or the differing views of ANY Board of Education representative is
digusting and repulsive to the DIVERSE community of Taxpayers in this school district who VOTE our elected officials into Service to our Schools and Community, and WHO foot the big bill for a quality classroom education for ALL students, with a Highly Qualified Professional Educator in every classroom.
