Springboro Families and Taxpaying homeowners extend our hands
across the isles to our new board members-elect, Mr. Anderson,
Mr. Malone, and Mr. Stuckey! Hopefully, each ONE of you have the individual expertise,ABILITY, and willingness to celebrate the
progress made in the past two years, and proving your good intent by "getting on board" with our current board's winning reform minded leadership philosophy!

Hopefully, each ONE of you will choose to "Come Grow With Us" in the direction of leadership for our Students First/Fiscal Responsible 21st century education for ALL our Students, with Quality teachers in ALL our classrooms!

If there is a sense of turbulence in our community, it has been manufactured by those who oppose change, wish to suffocate debates they would lose, and return to the days of endless levies, punitive actions against our citizens, and never ending financial emergencies within the district.

Our current board members and school district leaders, working
together as a Professional Team, have built a financial foundation on the principle of fiscal responsibility; AND will continue to make changes that make SENSE; for example, eliminating underutilized courses to fill needs in other areas; AND won't
continue relationships with service providers that don't provide the best value just because working with them has been past practice.

Springboro Families and Taxpaying homeowners will demand integrity from everyone our BOE works with..from Boosters to Vendors, from Students to Administrators. Common sense, ethics and sound financial decisons guide our Children's First Budgeting winning agenda! Children's First Budgeting Works! Let's stay on this new course and move in the direction of leadership for our children, schools and community.

Special Thanks to our current board members Kelly Kohls, Jim Rigano, David Petroni, Don Miller, and Wendy Kull.
Special Thanks to our Superintendent,Mr. Petry, and our school
district staff AND Thank You for Renewal Levy that saves taxpayers $6.5 million!

Welcome Aboard New Board Members-Elect: Charles Anderson,
Ron Malone, David Stuckey. The Time Has Now Come to Utilize
Your Individual ABILITY and Work as a Professional Team putting
individual agendas behind... putting Our Students First, while
Maintaining Fiscal Integrity.

...in the direction of common sense!

For too long, the Springboro district appeared to work very well, but it lacked clear direction. With no plan for textbooks, technology, capital imporvements, buses and more,m there was no larger course charted for our schools. There was no common sense.

Educate Springboro's common sense approach does not strip the district of its traditons or diversity. It does not ignore it's accomplishments and honors, including "excellent with Distrinction." It simply gives us a unifying direction that extends beyond any individual, building, or year.

...In the direction of fair!

A year ago, our district faced a sort of "perfect storm" with needs for everything from buses and books to technology and staffing coming to the surface at the same time. Through good management and som good fortune, our once rudderless ship emerged from that storm with clear leadership and direction. Clearly there are still challenges, but we are moving in the direction of putting Children First.

...In the direction of unity!

Even after plans to invest millions in technology, curriculum, buildings and buses, and even after providing every employee with raises, we are financially prepared to give something vack to the taxpayer -- to give back to our community by reducing their tax burden.

Special Thanks AND Appreciation are due our
current board members, Kelly Kohls, Jim Rigano,
David Petroni, Don Miller, Wendy Kull AND our
new school superintendent, Mr. Petrey, and Our
Entire School District Staff, for Renewal Levy
that saves taxpayers $6.5 million! Thank You!

...In the direction of sustainability!

We are meeting and exceeding state mandates as well as local expectations. We are building a technology backbone, investing in computers, curruiculum, buses and buildings - we are putting children first.

MOST IMPORTANT WE ARE BEING HONEST ABOUT WHAT IS NEEDED THROUGH 2017. THIS IS REFORM AT THE LOCAL LEVEL, AND THIS IS WORKING TOGETHER TOWARD
SUSTAINABILITY.

...In the direction of opportunity!

When we combine common sense spending with the strong performance of our schools, we provide opportunities for everyone -- our students, teachers, families and our community.

From the district's aging computers, buses and buildings to new Common Core curriculum and rising expectations with new standards, testing, evaluation systems, the status quo is not equipped to meet the challenges that our school district faces.

Educate Springboro reaches past the status quo.
As we examine district operations and use achievement data, we are creating opportunity, directiong more resources to students and more
tools to Teachers.

...In the direction of Excellence!

As the status quo placed awards on the school walls, many assumed that all was well inside those walls. But the awards only measure the past, and the standards are changing. Our schools perform well by the minimum state standards, but "PROFICIENT" no matter how you slice it, is FAILING.

For example, the PROFICIENT standard for the 8th grade math Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA)
ranges from 35%- 59%. PROFICIENT IS NOT ENOUGH!
The status quo has not been enough. The time isnow to bring forward new ways of evaluating our chldren that no longer rely upon grading on a curve to obtain the desired results.

Tougher, realistics grading on a curve to obtain the desired results. Tougher, realistic standards upset the status quo, but inflated standards rob our children oftrue achievement and potential.

Regardless, how are they not relevant to the discussion?
Because they reveal uncomfortable truths about one so beloved?
Because they pull the curtain back that was hiding PROFICIENT's true identity?
Because when Mr. Malone had the opportunity to act for the benefit of the children's future he opted instead to support the union?
Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.
This was true when John Adams made them defending the soldiers involved in the Boston Massacre in 1770 as it is today.
Facts are stubborn things.
Your FACTS are skewed. The constant repetition of said "facts" instead of having an actual dialogue is annoying. YOU at least can discuss. Ms. Pickerington can merely parrot facts over and over to where their power is removed. She answers every question with the same few responses that she recycles time after time. At least be passionate enough to change your verbiage.

...In the direction of confidence!

As Educate Springboro sought to add its voice to our district's board of education, we campaigned for the confidence for all stakeholders--the
newly married couple in a starter home and farmer in Clearcreek Township; the parents who would
to give everything for their child, and the grandparents who watched their savings evaporate
in the stock market; the employed and unemployed; the alumni and the new resident; and so many others.

With an innovative administration and outstanding central office staff, we are employing efficiency plans. These plans are allowing us to reallocate resources and meet district needs, including an unprecedented investment in technology and curriculum to create a 21st century learning environment for students.

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS, WE HAVE CLEAR
DIRECTION! WHERE TRUST HAS BEEN ERODED,
WE ARE REBUILDING!

...In the direction of trust!

As we seek to build confidence in our schools for everyone, others seek to build mistrust. From the outside, we've been labeled controversial.

Zero-based budgets and efficiency plans are not
controversial.

Updated technology and curriculum are not controversial.

Buses that run and roofs that don't leak are not
controversial.

Putting children first is reasonable, not controversial.

Where the integrity was not maintained from within, it is our right and our duty to rebuild it together. We will continue to work in the direction of confidence to restore integrity and trust in our schools.

Warren County Educational Service Center audit report on SHS program of studies
RECOMMENDATIONS page 13:
"Increase the numbers of students taking the High Schools That Works RECOMMENDED curriculum/Ohio Core each year by at least 25 percent.
Increase the percentage of students taking college preparatory courses.
Eliminate any course offerings below the college preparatory level."

January 2012
Superintendent Gene Lolli's annual performance evaluation of Mr. Malone notes:
"Mr. Malone does demonstrate the ABILITY to affect change, but someimes very reluctantly. It sometimes takes numerous requests by Superintendent before changes are implemented."
"Mr. Malone needs to IMPROVE on getting request goals to the Superintendnent in a timely fashion. Examples include:Requested schedule of events for delayed start at the beginning of the year, at
semester, and last week and have not yet received. Also requested times and date of all staff meetings and quarterly updates on the High Schools That Work per 2011-2012 job targets."

..and there is much more proof of Mr. Malone's failed practices of misallocation of district and taxpayer resources evidenced in public records that are available to the public upon request.

Warren County Educational Service Center audit report on SHS program of studies page 10:

"SHS still offers general level classes (Algebra 1A and 1B, physical science, US History, and
World History). Thus, not all students experience a college preparatory curriculum. Documents provided to the Technical Assistance Visiting (TAV)
Team indicate that contrary to the High Schools That Works philosophy, SHS believes that offering low-level courses is in the best interest of students. This belief, however, WAS NOT SUBSTANTIATED by research or data."

2013 US NEWS ranking of high schools in Ohio ranks:
King's #23, Bellbrook #37,Brookville$41, Lebanon$48, Centerville $49, Waynesville #53, Monroe #90 and FINALLY Springboro ....#97!

Given our district's started 40% gifted population, the fact that only 20% are on track to take A/P classes in high school, our district is severely underperforming compared to those districts around us (in the opinions of
all Springboro taxpayers who have taken time to
study Mr. Malone's past employment record of failed practices).

Number of Dual College Credit Classes available when Mr.Malone retired - 0

Number of DualCollege Credit Classes added AFTER m
Mr. Malone retired June 30, 2013 - 6

Misallocation of district and taxpayer resources: 34 out of 77 elective classes at the high school had less than 20 students, more than a few had multiple classes.
IE: Children's Literature, 2 classes - 27 total students; Entrepreneurship, 2 classes - 20 total students, etc.,etc.

Guys and Gals ARE listening... but the community of Blah blah blah is saying nothing of a broader vision of our children's future;
instead, the community of Blah blah blah just continues to
re-arrange their "status quo" prejudices...
against the progress made in the past two years AND fresh new ideas for our Students First 21st century education.

Look at Today and the Future! The challenge that lies ahead for our new board members-elect is to quickly learn how to utilize
their individual expertise and leadership ABILITY to FIT in with board members, Mr. Petroni and Mr. Rigano, to form a Professional Team of Five board representative, putting students first while maintaining fiscal integrity.

Springboro Families and Taxpaying homeowners are optomistic
about a brighter future for Mr. Malone as a member of the
the BOE team, accountable to the Taxpayers; than
SHS Principal Ron was in the past, who proved himself to be a "reluctant" team player on Superintendent Mr. Lolli's professional team of educators.

People who hold grudges, who NEVER stop talking about their
jealousy and envy of other's success, let their anger rule their lives, DUMBING DOWN their ABILITY to meet the challenges, and successes, of their professional careers.

How sad for Ron Malone, who has been a high school princiPAL for the PAST thirteen years...running our SHS like a union shop, whose DOORS have been closed, permanently, just
like the minds of Ron's Blah blah blah community is closed to fresh ideas of changes needed for
