Well there is certainly no respect in that blah blah blah blasting of unresolved anger and hostility, even amidth the victory for Ron Malone's Vote for Revenge... Now here's the thing --
Now that the election is over, the results show that the majority of voters REJECTED Mr. Malone as the most popular one; and even the ONE who came in as the most popular, Mr.Anderson, only received about 27% of the 21,837 votes, as an individual candidate who is NOT a retired educator representing educators.
Now all the winners of the election will join board members Mr. Petroni and Mr. Rigano as our FIVE board representatives.(It is quite unfortunate that the ravings and rantings of the Parents for Sure/SEA union activists in the public board meetings since January 2012, finally succeeded in pushing out of the board room TWO concerned Springboro MOMS who were very Strong leaders in our schools and community, and now we are stuck with FIVE OLD MEN representing Students First; but NOT Educators First).
Every Springboro citizen who so wishes to pre-arrange and broadcast their "Voice" in front of the TV cameras at public board meetings has ALWAYS had that freedom to do so, stating personal opinions or personal prejudices and the only restriction is that it be kept to three minutes, in respect of allowing enough time in the 30 minute public participation time frame for as many citizens to have a "Voice" as possible.
Therefore, it is delusional for blah blah blah to rave and rant that blah blah blah has "used that voice to take out schools from you." Neither of the five current board members have possession of our schools; and neither will our school board members elect, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Malone, and Mr. Stuckey TAKE possession of our schools, just because voters in the school district have put TRUST in these three public servants to
come on board and get to work with current board members Mr. Petroni and Mr. Rigano, working together as a professional TEAM, moving ahead in the direction of RAISING THE BAR FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS!
Why would Mr. Anderson, Mr. Malone, and Mr. Stuckey throw away the TRUST that voters have placed in their potential leadership?
Why would Mr. Anderson, Mr. Malone, and Mr. Stuckey listen to the
continued revengeful ravings and rantings of blah blah blah VOICES
in the community?
Why would Mr. Anderson, Mr.Malone, and Mr. Stuckey continue obeying the blah blah blah "voices" that only want to broaden the political divisions in our community and tear down the progress of our students 21st century education that has been built by our current board members, Mr. Petroni and Mr. Rigano, over the past two years?
WHY WOULD TAXPAYERS IN OUR COMMUNITY JUST SIT BACK AND ENJOY
WATCHING THE SEA "Pull the Strings" of MALONE AND HIS PUPPETS
WHILE THE VOICE OF THE OTHER FOUR BOARD MEMBERS REMAINED SILENT?
Why would those of us who have a vested interest in our homes, our schools, and our community allow the Springboro Education Association to "possess" the voice of school board member Ron Malone, to be used solely for the self-interest of keeping
Mr. Maney and his staff of union members "Happy?"
WORDS OF SUSTAINABILITY

Public schools serve the community. The community funds and supports public schools. The partnership between our schools and community can be described in many ways. It is a legislated relationship. It is a traditional bonding. It is symbiotic. It is real.
The Springboro school district stands in an almost unheard of position today. Even after plans to invest millions in technology, curriculum, buildings and buses, and even after providing every employee with raises, we are financially prepared to give something back to the taxpayer – to give back to our community by reducing their tax burden. The renewal levy on the ballot in November will be set at a lower millage rate to reduce taxes generated by that levy by nearly 15 percent.
With every step, we are proving that this district with its record of excellence is sustainable with an even lower tax burden. This is almost unheard of in school or local government today. The idea seems so foreign to some that there is even a call in our community to keep the renewal for the full amount.
There is an assumption that if we are cutting the taxes; we must be cutting back in our schools. This is simply FALSE. The following needs are in the current budget through 2017:
• high school busing restored
• over $2 million in text books and new adoptions
• over 2.1 million for new buses
• over $3.7 million in capital needs and deferred maintenance
• over $1.5 million in technology (100% WiFi, 1,000 computers, 350 teacher laptops)
• over $7.5 million for our staff in raises and benefit changes
These are met in the five-year forecast even with the lower renewal levy. This reduction of almost 15 percent millage is equal to $1,353,800 per year that we are giving back to our community.
How is this possible?
• The May 2013 five-year forecast included a surplus of $7.55 million in 2017.
• After the approval of contracts with the teachers, classified and exempt staff, the five-year forecast still reveals a surplus of $7.2 million in 2017.
• Springboro Community City Schools will receive 6.5% more in 2013-2014 than in the previous year from the State of Ohio (approximately $828,000) as well as 10.5% more in 2014-2015 (approximately $1.2 million).
• Since 2012, 2013, the district has received $3.5 million per year as a result of a pipeline that has been completed.
• A second pipeline is possible; however, the district’s current forecast assumptions DO NOT include the additional funding it may bring to the district.
Not only have we proven that we can live within our means, but now every person in this district—our children and families, our staff and teachers, and the taxpayers–will benefit.
This is significant when placed in the context of five failed levies that sought to raise our taxes by up to $45,000,000. Our community sent a clear message again and again that there could be no new taxes. The board—elected by that same community—remembers that we are all on the same side in the pursuit of true educational attainment. As it became clear through our due diligence into the finances of the district that we could meet our needs with less money, the board voted to request lower millage in the renewal levy in November.
If you budget $300 for a monthly car payment but you find the car you need with every option for $250, do you tell the dealer you’d still like to pay more? Of course not. We’re not selling a rundown clunker at the reduced price. We are meeting and exceeding state mandates as well as local expectations. We are building a technology backbone, investing in computers, curriculum, buses and buildings – we are putting children first. Most important, we are being honest about what is needed through 2017. This is reform at the local level, and this is working together toward sustainability.

"Where the board's at right now is wanting the highest academic achievement AND fiscal responsibility," Petrey said in a DDN news article
last year, when he came on board as our new school superintendent, "THAT'S WHAT I STAND FOR."

And Springboro families and taxpaying homeowners stand firmly in support of Mr. Petrey's amazingly
awesome accomplishments putting Students First in the direction of a 21st Century Quality Classroom Education for ALL Springboro Students!

CONGRATULATIONS, MR.PETREY!

You Successfully are Putting the SUPER back into the service for our Students that is expected of our Springboro Schools Superintendent!

Ohhh, you mean the 3 soon-to-be school board members whom this community overwhelmingly supports? They won't be sucking up to the unions, but the teachers will finally be respected by their board as they should. Now, you misguided souls will manage to interpret this respect as "sucking up" to the union, but the majority of the community feels it's time to respect the teachers and truly put children first. You just don't get it. The people like what he stands for. He will be an excellent board member. He is a smart man and a good man. He is greatly missed at the high school, but he had a higher calling. There's a difference between revenge and restoring sanity to this district...but I have to admit it's awesome that the man the board tried to force out will be sitting on the board. The fact the the community willingly put educators on the school board is very telling of just how strongly the community opposed the direction of the current board. Advice: just sit back and enjoy the new direction of this board, one that truly puts kids first.
Ron Malone?
Kids first?
LOL! LOL!

To make a claim that a given individual's past popularity can be used as a measurement of their future effectiveness is nothing less than a logical fallacy.

Of course our former principal of 13 years has been and still is "insanely popular". Whether or not current high school students and Boro graduates realize it, Malone was busy being every student's "best friend" while their former principal lobbied for addition of more elective classes so that he could ensure employment for teachers with poor skills. These elective classes continued to see poor enrollment until many of them had to be cancelled by this board. What Ron Malone did best was throw this district's gifted and struggling students under the academic bus.
I could go on about Malone's lack of leadership during the booster scandal but everyone already knows about that. I suppose the only unanswered question is, beginning Jan 2014, what other sorts of damage might Malone be capable of inflicting to this district's students?

If there is a sense of turbulence in our comunity, it has been manufactured by those who oppose change, wish to suffocate debatesthey would lose, and return to the days of enless leves, punitive actions against our citizens, and never ending financial emergencies within the district.

In November, 2011, this community put our trust in two
reform-minded Children's First Budgeting board representatives, David Petroni and Jim Rigano; and Today we still trust their leadership and support te progress made in the past two years.

Now the community has trusted three others, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Malone, Mr. Stuckey to join Mr.Petroni and Mr. Rigano and get to work using their individual skills to work as a great team
with Mr. Petrey and our school district leaders putting Students First, RAISING THE BAR FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.

If there is a sense of turbulence in our comunity, it has been manufactured by those who oppose change, wish to suffocate debates they would lose, and return to the days of enless leves, punitive actions against our citizens, and never ending financial emergencies within the district.

Our current board members, Mr. Petroni and Mr. Rigano, in less
than TWO years of their financial expertise and skillful leadership, have built a financial foundation on the the principle of fiscal responsibility, continuing to make changes that make sense; for example, eliminating underutlized courses to fill needs in other areas. They won't coninue relationships with service providers that don'tproved the best value jst because working with them has been past practice. They WILL emand integrity from everyone our board works with from Boosters to Vendors, from Students to Aministrators. Common sense, ethics and sound financial decisions guide our Children's First Budgeting agenda.
The fear o change will not chase our community back into the darkness of previously failed practices.

Let's stay on this new course and moe in the direction of leadership for our children, schools and community.

Springboro families and taxpaying homeowners have now voted our
trust in the leadership of Mr. Anderson, Mr. Malone, and Mr.Stuckey! Political campaign banter is fun; but it's now over
and the seriousness of the people's TRUST in these three individuals FITTING into the Big Picture of our Students First/Responsible Budgeting reform minded VISION is in the
spotlight. We can't just invest in reverse "status quo."

Big Question now is: Can Mr. Anderson, Mr. Malone, and Mr. Stuckey
change their PAST experiences of status quo business as usual; and keep the trust that voters have shown in their ability to broaden their VISION of RAISING THE BAR FOR OUR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS?

You all are delusional. No worries. My voice was heard and the majority of the community and I are on the same page. You guys go right ahead and stay in your tiny little world. The lack of respect you have for our teachers, fortunately, is not shared by the rest of the community. The current board is a joke, and I thank God that the people who supported them are in the clear minority. I agree that the board should work together. Will Petroni and Rigano finally realize that the majority of their policies and tactics are not welcome here? Doubtful. However, I hope they choose to work with MSA.

By the way, he lobbied for more electives to offer students a more well-rounded set of offerings. The new principal wants to expand electives as well. Why aren't you calling HER out?

Regardless, I take solace in knowing you all are the minority. I think I might attend the last few board meetings to catch Kohls, Rigano, and Petroni's last ditch efforts to screw things up. A lame duck president and her cronies panicking may be quite a show.

Why didn't Kohls run again? She saw the writing on the wall. She felt the tide turning against her. She knew she would be handily defeated so she spared herself the stress and embarrassment. That's the only reason someone so power hungry wouldn't run. Good riddance. I will give her a standing ovation on the way out. Of course she and her supporters are so delusional that they'll think the raucous applause is to thank her. Um, no, it's a sense of relief that we are no longer under her regime.

You all are so bitter that Springboro saw right through your feigned transparency and voted people into the board who care about kids. For the last few years, everyone kept saying, "It will get better." It just did!

YOU trust Petroni and Rigano. The majority of the community does not. They will be voted out in two years. Considering the like-minded Bitner-Vaughn ticket was of course supported by the pizza guys, it seems their loss was a statement against the current leadership. All any candidate had to do to win this election was state that they were against the direction of KPR and they were shoo-ins. You are sorely mistaken if you believe Petroni and Rigano have a chance of staying in office.(Personally, I'm ok if they stay - as long as they aren't the majority. I will, however, join you in thanking the current board. Thank you, Mr. Miller, for attempting to be the voice of reason on this divisive board. It's a shame you were outnumbered. Mrs. Kull, thank you for sometimes thinking for yourself. As for Petroni, Kohls, and Rigano, thank you for bringing this community together. Do you also want to thank the current board for the $5M surplus, return of busing, reduced pay to play, reduced renewal levy, upgrade to technology, building maintenance and improvement, move for higher student standards, accountability?

Many of the things they take credit for happened DESPITE them, not because of them. I acknowledge that they did a couple of good things here and there - it would be nearly impossible for a school board to screw up EVERYTHING - but no, I really just thank the triumvirate-no-more for awakening this community.

...no need for a crystal clear direction in two years; just stay the course in the CLEAR direction of TRUST in our Children's First Budget reform minded board leaders, Mr. Rigano and Mr. Petroni.

As we seek to build confidence in our schools for everyone,
others seek to build mistrust. From the outside, we've been labeled controversial.

Zero-based budgets and efficiency plans are not controversial.
Updated technology and curriculum are not controversial.

Buses that run and roofs that don't leak are not controversial.

Putting children first is reasonable, not controversial.

Where the integrity was not maintained from within, it is our right and our duty to rebuilt it together. We will continue to work in the direction of confidence to restore integrity and trust in our schools....

Can We Trust Mr. Anderson, Mr. Malone, and Mr. Stuckey to work

Or, will Mr. Anderson, Mr. Malone, and Mr. Stuckey yield in the board room to the anger and hostility of those who are determined to revengefully continue opposing the board members who are doing what's right for our schools and community?
