all unions should be outlawed. Someone needs to look up how many labor laws are now on the books to protect employees. Labor unions are outdated adn unnecessary, especially those that hurt citizens, studnets and our seniors. The teachers unions are nothing but bullies they kie their backsides off. I was eating out in Springboro and oevrheard a bunch of union thugs saying that teachers have had everything taken away from them. They were telling unsuspecting community members theri lies and hoping that they would believe them.

You have got to be kidding me I said out loud? The teachers have 5-6% raises each of the next two years, still have to work only 185 days per year, 15 paid sick days, 4 personal days, Health care, dental, vision, that they only pay 20% of and fully paid life insc. They will get 10-12% raises over the next two years. Really, OMG how offensive can you be, how entitled can you be? How selfish and self centered can you be? That is not enough that yopu have to go out and lie to people that you have had everything taken from you? 0 Based budgeting means that all teachers simply ask for supplies and they are funded 100%, they ask for books and they get them, they ask for anything and they get it now versus before when they had to "buy supplies themselves". I don't believe that either but it is part of the old lies they spewed to get sympathy. Now they havce started a new set of lies to manipulate this community into electing more union supporter.

You know it really does not matter all teachers will be obsolete in a year or so and good riddens, you deserve it you destroyed yourselves with your union support. Ya the union is supporting you right out af a job, then guess what you will experience what the rest of us have and we will have no sympathy.

Look at what the unions did to GM Crystler, Delphi, DHL, the steele industry, textile industries,etc...

Ya we need unions like we need holes in our heads.

then taxes took out the rest

I'm confused as to why everyone is lashing out at Bitner and Vaughn and not Anderson? Why did the news only choose to interview Anderson? Bitner and Vaughn are receiving all the backlash even though they are in the exact same position that Anderson is in. How do we know that Anderson didn't really orchestrate all of this as a tactic against Bitner and Vaughn? The way I see it, the only candidates acting like adults in this matter are Bitner and Vaughn. Their names were placed on the signs too but they chose not to bring any controversy to Springboro by not making a big deal about it. They didn't call the news or file crazy charges. People in this community need to wake up and see who is generating these exaggerated controversies. Someone chose to spend THEIR money to advance THEIR opinion on who they would like elected to their school board. Settle down people, they are just signs after all.

I am so sorry, I completely understand now why everyone is against the tea parties Vaughn/Bitner. It was sooo silly of me to say "it is only signs". Settle down. I have seen the error of my ways and will vote the MSA ticket.

"Extracurricular activities WILL 100% be cut under the Teabaggers platform. Its a FACT. When you make budget cuts the first things to get cut are the arts, sports, clubs, PTO etc... These are VITAL in keeping our kids active in the community. It gives them OWNERSHIP of their school. Take them away and watch what happens."
"Why are Springsboro Tea Baggers so interested in Olentangy? Really ask yourself that question. If people in Springsboro think there school system so great they really have done NO research in where they stand comparatively speaking. This is the problem I have with the Tea Party taking over my Republican party. They totally ignore the facts of any argument. They use vague terms like "your not American" and "Christians are being persecuted". They ignore facts and the facts are that if TeaBaggers are elected to the school board we will all pay dearly especially our kids"
That Tea bagger saved this district, saved the chlidren from the adult union bullies and saved taxpayers from further extortion.

We all pray that Olantangy gets the same benefits of the tea Party philosophy.

I hope all teachers lose their jobs with Common Core it serves them right. Teahcers, don't you understand, your union is selling you to Gates computerized online teachers. You deserve it though for being sheeple and following them off them cliff. What you are not seeing is that they aren't going off the cliff with you they are laughing all the way home bragging that you all followed them teaching children that their parents and churches were just a hoax and that they owe everything to the government. You teachers are helping your union take down this country. You have helped steele the freedom right from these kids with your socialist anti Christian, anti American, anti rupublic indoctrination. You are to blame and GOD will not forgive you as saying nothing is as guilty as doing the deeds. Teachers you are as guilty as they are.

I thought the same thing! When I saw those signs, I wondered if Anderson was really behind it, too! If he is responsible, how dare he do this to Bitner and Vaughn. I met and spoke with Mr. Bitner the other day and was very impressed by him. I completely agree that they are the only candidates conducting themselves with respect for the community. They certainly have my vote.

Can anyone answer how we will end up with a UNION CONTROLLED board when only 1 of the 5 candidate have belonged to a union.(Unless Bitner and Vaughn have and aren't admitting it, they never show up to answer questions because they cannot think for themselves).
Part of being in an election is running and putting everything out for the public to base a decision on (including the company you work for, which Vaugn did but Bitner didn't).
One must ask:
What are they hiding?
What are they afraid of?
What kind of representatives would they be?
Only candidates who have the fortitude to show up for public debates deserve to be considered.
Only the EDUCATED should lead our EDUCATORS.
All of your union love must have gone to your head because it seems you have trouble with reading, comprehending and retaining information. As another post has already asked you:
How many times does the question have to be answered before you stop asking the same question? It has been answered twice. See below.

AtLeastUrLiesR Consistant: "Stuckey has been a member of the SEA. Malone's wife is a member of the SEA. Anderson's wife is a former teacher. There are certainly bias in those affiliations. I also noticed that Bitner did release the name of his company way back when someone asked him (I still don't understand how that information was relevant). It was even plastered all over facebook on a meme that was created by your friend Stephanie Bindemann. So I'm SURE you saw it and are only trying to perpetuate false information once again."

And

Doug Weideman: "Union controlled boards are elected with the aid and support of the union, its membership, and its supporters.

Unfortunately for the taxpayers they often repay their supporters kindness from the largesse of the taxpayers.

If you watched the TV news last night, then you should know that
Anderson really did not orchestate all of this as a tactic against Bitner and Vaughn, Because....

Our School Board member, David Petroni, spoke to the cameras on the news last night, telling the public why the Paid for by Educate Springboro signs are posted around town.

People in this community were informed that Educate Springboro
spent THEIR money to advance THEIR opinion on who they would
like elected to their school board, "for the children."

Stay Alert Voters! Each one of us in this community has ONE
opportunity to VOTE for only TWO conservative school board candidates, IF we believe that David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn should be elected as the First and Second board representative.

The third "wheel" will be broken, no matter which one of the Threesome of Ron Malone, David Stuckey, or Charles Anderson rolls into third place! Third place winner is just symbolism; no
substance!

VOTE FOR TWO!
DAVID BITNER/KOLTON VAUGHN!

COME IN FIRST AND SECOND!

Extremists, radicals, fanatics! Sounds like a scary Halloween tale. Add in the words “tea party” and that’s supposed to make it a true horror story. Unfortunately, this is where some in our community have taken the dialog surrounding our school board and the upcoming election. It’s time for Toto to pull back the curtain and for us to elevate the conversation.

For the record, I do believe in limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets. I also believe that a free society requires virtuous people and that children need to learn these concepts. How confusing it must be for them to watch the behavior of adults and the tenor of the debate around our schools.

What has the school board done to invite this wrath? We are trying to change things in a few areas and the system would rather not change. Just like in Washington, opponents to change assign their targets what they believe are derogatory labels - "tea party", "extremist", "fanatic". However, if you were to ask what has been done that is "fanatical", you’ll get nothing more than generalities that have little basis in fact and are distorted to sound extreme.

If you asked me about the school board’s record over the last two years I would tell you about holding people accountable, uncovering embezzlement that had gone on for years, raising academic standards, increasing ACT scores, advocating for kids to take classes for college credit, restoring salary increases, controlling runaway medical insurance costs, balancing the budget (and giving the excess back), providing services for gifted students, reducing pay-to-play fees and increasing student participation, upgrading technology for online learning, instituting bring your own technology, reinstating high school busing, reinstating textbook purchases, reinstating a building maintenance program, and correcting numerous other deficiencies from years of administrative neglect.

You might recognize these things are good and are already implemented in other districts and ask why has it taken so long to address them in Springboro? I don’t know, but compared to the lethargic past, this has been a pretty “radical” two years. And to do all this while lowering taxes you would have to conclude these two years have been “fanatically” amazing and “extremely” successful.

At this point you might ask what this has to do with the upcoming school board election. This election will set a direction, backward or forward. The supporters of Malone and Stuckey tell you the current board is too “extreme”. Compared to the stagnation they are accustomed to, that is understandable. The other candidates are David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn. They are parents with young children enrolled in the district who are motivated to encourage our schools to continue to innovate, to offer more opportunities, and to keep children the board’s first priority.

On November 5th, we will make a decision. Will we choose based on the record, or the labels?
